The trick: consequences less tragic than in The Monkey's Paw (classic story) but in that twisted direction over the course of three wishes, say with her achieving dominance. First she wishes for lust, but he only uses her. Next she wishes for love, but he wimps-out. But she finds she LIKES his wimpy-ness, so her final wish enslaves him. Cue the sardonic Happy Ever After ending: she leads him around on a leash.

Haha it’s beautiful. Way different than what I ended up with, too, but that’s in large part because I’ve only written male doms so far, so mine ended up being a single wish and the guy had always thought she wouldn’t like it, but suddenly he’s into her and the monkey’s paw only makes him want more domination and humiliation in his sex with the more into her he gets. Still happily ever after when they make it work.

A side idea was kinky Jumanji, where a couple finds an odd fetish game in the same curiosities store. Instead of drums, you hear the giant bells that come with the Lament Configuration in Hellraiser.

That's only in the states. Set it in a colony of USA expats in Australia, Angola, or Argentina, with opening-day games seen on expat lounges' satellite TVs. It's late summer in the southern hemisphere and everyone dresses for the heat in as little as possible. Something tricky is mixed into their drinks. Nudity and hilarity ensue. Who has the biggest bat, the most agile glove, the best base-on-balls action?

How about some friends set a couple of friends up for a blind date, not realizing that it’s set for April first. The two who are set up for the date suspect an AFD prank and meet expecting that they are the mark for a prank.

When they meet they can both be stand-offish, sardonic and suspicious but continuing with the date to save face. They can be unnecessarily rude yet curious about what the others’ intentions are, figuring the shoe will drop at any moment and the joke will be revealed... but they keep finding common ground and begin to realize it might not be a setup.
