American boat makers feel the crunch from Trump tariffs

One small market fucked by the "Stable Genius".

American boat makers are getting pummeled on multiple fronts by tariffs and stand to be among the industries hardest-hit in an escalating trade war.

President Donald Trump's decision to impose tariffs on imported steel and aluminum has driven up the price of those essential materials for many boat makers. Europe, Canada and Mexico retaliated with tariffs on American-made boats. Meanwhile, new tariffs imposed on parts such as engines and navigation equipment imported from China are also pushing up costs.

As a result, they are selling fewer boats, considering raising prices and bracing for layoffs across an industry that employs 650,000 people in the United States at manufacturers, marinas and dealers.

"We have the unfortunate situation of being caught up in every part of this trade war," said Nicole Vasilaros, of the National Marine Manufacturers Association.

Rick Wilson hammers ‘Trump’s Army of Cletuses’ who have been suckered by ‘stupid’ QAnon conspiracy theories

Trump-Cletus-2-440x270.jpg

Republican strategist Rick Wilson identified stupidity as one of the leading reasons why supporters of President Donald Trump believe the QAnon conspiracy theory.

Writing in The Daily Beast, Wilson referred to QAnon as a “gigantic pyramid of digital horsesh*t.”

“Conspiracies are hard. They’re even harder when you’re stupid,” Wilson suggested.

Though Wilson did admit it has been “comedy gold.”

“We’ve alternated between laughter and wide-eyed shock at how credulous Trump’s Army of Cletuses must be to fall for such an obvious, ludicrous con,” he suggested. “If the puzzle surrounding QAnon is a fever dream wrapped in an enigma, coated with nougat, rolled in nuts and filled with a creamy center of delusional paranoia, Trump’s own role in fostering it is right out of the Lil Tots’ First Book of Authoritarian Strategy.”

The author of the soon-to-be-released book Everything Trump Touches Dies: A Republican Strategist Gets Real About the Worst President Ever said, “this entire thing reeks of enough bullsh*t to fertilize Mars.”

How Trump’s ‘nightmare’ scenario will unfold if Democrats take either chamber of Congress in November

Democrats are angry.

But without control of any branch of the federal government, there’s not much they can do about it.

That could all change in November, if Democrats take control of either house of Congress, writes the Washington Post.

The reason? Subpoena power.

Democrats have a long list of questions and document requests to file against the White House, various cabinet departments and businesses tied to President Trump. But if they don’t control the committee, all they can do is complain and shame their Republican colleagues.

“So far those requests have mostly been ignored by the Republican majorities in the House and Senate. But if Democrats seize committee gavels, they would regain a plethora of tools to probe Trump over the next two years,” the Post writes.

Bush-era Republican consultant Scott Jennings said that if Democrats control committees things will change in a hurry.

“There is a never-ending stream of outrage,” said Jennings. “The only difference is, now all of their outrage is directed at Twitter. But when you give somebody a gavel, they can actually hurt you.”

If Trump hates 17 Angry Democrats in the DOJ, he'll shit when he has 450 Angry Democrats sitting in judgment of his crimes! Mhahahahaha:D

If they take back one or both of the houses, there are going to be a lot of Republican congressmen who get called to share the nonsense they have been engaging in with the world as well.

Trump has lost the Mooch!

Ex-Trump spokesman Scaramucci also sides with LeBron James over Trump

Former presidential spokesman Anthony Scaramucci has sided with LeBron James over his former boss and friend.

On Friday night, Trump unleashed a twitter rant about the NBA star before a rally in the Lakers star’s home state of Ohio.

Since the rant, Trump has gotten shade from Michael Jordan and his own wife.

Now, Scaramucci has joined in.

“It’s not about picking sides or playing politics. It’s about recognizing an incredible human being who, despite growing up at risk and without a father, has become an all-time great not only on court, but also a great father, role model and humanitarian off it,” Scaramucci said.

Donald throws Jr under the bus!

MSNBC conservative warns Trump he needs to resign now and get immediate Pence pardon after ‘collusion tweet’

An MSNBC panel was positively stunned by a tweet from Donald Trump on Sunday morning, where the president admitted his oldest son and other campaign officials met with Russians in an attempt to seek dirt on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Sunday morning Trump contradicted previous White House explainations that Donald Trump Jr.’s 2016 meeting in Trump Tower was about orphans, with the president writing, “Fake News reporting, a complete fabrication, that I am concerned about the meeting my wonderful son, Donald, had in Trump Tower. This was a meeting to get information on an opponent.”

“I’d like to remind Mr. Trump that that ruling only says you can’t be prosecuted while in office,” Rubin explained. “So before he goes out the door, maybe he wants to resign the presidency and has Vice President Pence pardon him because he’s going to be prosecutable as soon as he leaves office.”

“He needs to put a pin in that,” she added.

But, what if "mother" won't let Pence pardon, the idolater?

GOP insiders dismayed as Trump ignores candidates at rallies to brag about himself: ‘No interest in staying on message’

The 'Me First' President!

OP insiders are becoming increasingly concerned the Donald Trump’s visits to battleground states to promote local candidates may be having a negative effect on voters as the president seems more interested in talking about himself than the local candidate in need of a boost at the polls.

According to Axios, GOP operatives believe a Trump appearance can be helpful at drawing out enthusiastic voters, but that his rambling self-referential speeches overshadow his endorsement of the candidate.

With the Associated Press stating, “[Trump is] casting himself as the star of the midterms, eagerly inserting himself into hotly contested primaries, headlining rallies in pivotal swing states and increasing his fundraising efforts for Republicans,” some Republicans say his belief in his own star power has become problematic.

He believes his own press too, What a Dick!:D

Advisers beg Trump to stop tweeting about Russian collusion at Trump Tower: report

Advisers to President Donald Trump are reportedly pleading with him to stop tweeting about a meeting between top officials in the 2016 Trump campaign and Russians at Trump Tower.

Sources told CNN that advisers made the request after Trump said in a tweet over the weekend that his son, Donald Trump Jr., met with the Russians in 2016 to get damaging information about then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. In doing so, Trump admitted that his son had attempted to collude with agents of a foreign government.

“The President was advised that his tweeting only gives oxygen to the topic, even if those around Trump do not believe there is any truly new development,” the CNN report said.

Junior, in the Tower, with Russians, FTW!:D

I think it's more than a bit too late to save himself or his son on the Trump Tower meeting. His tweets have already screwed them both to the wall on that issue.

White House shuts down press availability after Trump tweet admits collusion

The White House announced on Monday that President Donald Trump would not take any questions after he admitted on Twitter that his son may have colluded with Russians during the 2016 campaign.

In a tweet over the weekend, Trump reversed course on his explanation of a 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer in Trump Tower. The president had originally claimed that the meeting had been about adoptions. But in his Sunday tweet, Trump admitted that the purpose of the meeting had been to get damaging information about Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic nominee.

I hope Bob was watching this shitstorm?:)

Napolitano,said this:

"During an appearance on Fox News’ Outnumbered program, Napolitano reacted to President Donald Trump’s admission over the weekend that his son had met with a Russian lawyer at Trump Tower to get dirt on Clinton.

“There is no such law and there is no such word in the law as collusion, that’s a Hollywood and media term,” Napolitano explained to co-hosts of the show. “The legal term is conspiracy. If the Trump campaign and the Russians work together, but was there an agreement to work together?

“The crime is the agreement,” he added. “Whether the agreement was put into place or not. That’s what Bob Mueller is looking for.”

New Details About Wilbur Ross’ Business Point To Pattern Of Grifting

"Only the BEST People!"

A multimillion-dollar lawsuit has been quietly making its way through the New York State court system over the last three years, pitting a private equity manager named David Storper against his former boss: Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross. The pair worked side by side for more than a decade, eventually at the firm, WL Ross & Co.—where, Storper later alleged, Ross stole his interests in a private equity fund, transferred them to himself, then tried to cover it up with bogus paperwork. Two weeks ago, just before the start of a trial with $4 million on the line, Ross and Storper agreed to a confidential settlement, whose existence has never been reported and whose terms remain secret.

It is difficult to imagine the possibility that a man like Ross, who Forbes estimates is worth some $700 million, might steal a few million from one of his business partners. Unless you have heard enough stories about Ross. Two former WL Ross colleagues remember the commerce secretary taking handfuls of Sweet’N Low packets from a nearby restaurant, so he didn’t have to go out and buy some for himself. One says workers at his house in the Hamptons used to call the office, claiming Ross had not paid them for their work. Another two people said Ross once pledged $1 million to a charity, then never paid. A commerce official called the tales “petty nonsense,” and added that Ross does not put sweetener in his coffee.

There are bigger allegations. Over several months, in speaking with 21 people who know Ross, Forbes uncovered a pattern: Many of those who worked directly with him claim that Ross wrongly siphoned or outright stole a few million here and a few million there, huge amounts for most but not necessarily for the commerce secretary. At least if you consider them individually. But all told, these allegations—which sparked lawsuits, reimbursements and an SEC fine—come to more than $120 million. If even half of the accusations are legitimate, the current United States secretary of commerce could rank among the biggest grifters in American history.

Or was that "Only the best GRIFTERS?"

Fox News correspondent resigns amid reports that network staff are sick of being a Trump propaganda channel

A Fox News correspondent has abruptly resigned from his job amid reports that Fox staff members are tired of seeing the network transformed into a pro-Trump propaganda channel.

The Wrap reports that Fox News foreign correspondent Conor Powell stepped down this week after nine years reporting for the network.

“After nearly 9 years, I have decided to resign from Fox News,” Powell announced on his Facebook page. “Those of you who have spoken to me in recent months, you will understand why I am leaving FNC.”

While Powell himself hasn’t publicly stated why he’s stepped down, a source within the network tells The Wrap that he’s just one of many people on the news team who are frustrated with the network’s emphasis on supporting Trump-loving opinion hosts such as Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and Laura Ingraham over more hard news reporting.

“Lots of reporters are very unhappy with directions of FNC right now,” the source explains. “Fewer news shows. More opinion shows. Less resources for reporters to report.”

National security expert John Schindler: Trump should fear ‘assassination’ by Putin if he stops being valuable

“However, Donald Trump’s real concern should not be with Robert Mueller and his veteran investigators, but with his amigo manqué in the Kremlin,” Schindler continues. “Vladimir Putin no longer bothers to conceal his disappointment with President Trump.”

The Kremlin’s ability to harm President Trump should not be underestimated. Given the president’s longstanding ties to dubious Russians, a matter he has treated with the greatest secrecy, there’s no doubt that Putin possesses kompromat on Trump, including some of a sordid variety, to be released as needed. If the Kremlin believes that Trump has no chance of helping Russia anymore, they will sacrifice him to create ever-greater chaos in America and the West. Keep in mind that [Russian agent] Natalya Veselnitskaya’s bombshell interview this spring was only possible with Kremlin permission.

Schindler concludes his column by raising the specter of assassination.

“President Trump has more than mere kompromat to worry about here,” he says. “Under Vladimir Putin, Russian intelligence has embarked on a global assassination spree of a kind not seen in the Kremlin since Stalin’s time… [L]ess than three years ago, Putin’s operatives murdered in the heart of our nation’s capital, just a mile from the White House.”

Note that the best snipers can make a head shot at over a mile! Cadet Bone Spur should avoid tall buildings with in a mile of his location.

Trump goes on bonkers rant against Mueller probe — then follows up by bizarrely tweeting ‘Space Force all the way!

President Donald Trump went on a conspiratorial rant against special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe on Thursday — and then issued a bizarre boast about his newly announced “Space Force.”

Writing on Twitter, the president slapped together multiple conspiracy theories about the origins of the Mueller probe to claim it was illegitimate and should be shut down.

“This is an illegally brought Rigged Witch Hunt run by people who are totally corrupt and/or conflicted,” he wrote. “It was started and paid for by Crooked Hillary and the Democrats. Phony Dossier, FISA disgrace and so many lying and dishonest people already fired. 17 Angry Dems? Stay tuned!”

Seconds after attacking the Mueller investigation, the president followed up by simply tweeting, “Space Force all the way!”

Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday announced the administration’s plans to create the Space Force, a sixth branch of the military that will focus exclusively on establishing an American military presence in space.

Or as they say, "Squirrel!"

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer dismantles GOP Congressman who says Mueller investigation ‘really needs to go away

"Is it appropriate, congressman, for the president’s attorney Rudy Giuliani to be treating this investigation as a political football?” Blitzer asked.

“I think Rudy Giuliani is doing what he thinks is best for the president to move forward,” Yoho said. “This investigation really needs to go away. On Russian collusion and Russian meddling in our election: We know they meddled. There is no evidence of collusion. The FISA warrants were issued on those pretenses.”

Blitzer corrected him again.

“I just want to correct you. You keep saying it’s a false pretense. Do you agree the Russians did meddle in the U.S. presidential elections in 2016?”

To the extent that Putin's real goal is to sow discord in American society, he has a lot of mileage left before considering offing Trump, although, if it could be done and made to luck possibly to have been done by those on the left, there would be considerable mileage there.

I'd be more worried about Manafort and maybe even Gates and Cohen as the Russia links multiple being offed.

I don't worry about any of them being offed.
If the Russians dropped all of them and a few Congress critters too, it would just make Russia's problems worse as the Rethugs might force Pence to really push the Russians harder.

Ex-federal prosecutor explains the ‘terrifying scenario’ for Trump that Rudy Giuliani knows he has to avoid

Observing months of negotiations between Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, and special counsel Robert Mueller, a former assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York says Mueller holds all the cards when it comes to an interview with the president — and Giuliani knows he has a losing hand.

According to Elie Honig, writing for the Daily Beast, despite Giuliani acting like a “cartoonish buffoon,” he knows that Trump’s refusal to voluntarily submit to questioning about his campaign’s involvement with possible agents of the Russian government could end in disaster for the president.

“If the court agrees that Trump must answer the subpoena, then Mueller has the right to put Trump in front of the grand jury,” Honig explains. “That is a terrifying scenario for the Trump team. Not only would Trump have to answer questions directly, in person, from Mueller (or one of Mueller’s elite prosecutors), but—and this is the big difference between an agreed-upon interview and a subpoena—Trump’s attorneys cannot be in the grand jury room with him during questioning. Giuliani must shudder to think of how poorly that would go, as the president, unplugged, surely would lurk between lying his face off and openly boasting about crimes he has committed. ”

I think Muller should subpoena Trump and force him into the Grand Jury, under oath. Let see how good a lawyer Rudy is? How many Trump lies will change if this happens?:D

The Secret Service will physically remove him’: Lawrence O’Donnell predicts how Trump’s reign ends

“I would say the most likely ending of it is when Elizabeth Warren, or whoever the Democratic nominee is, beats him in the next election,” he said.

Maher, who has long held that Trump aspires to be a dictator, said that he doubts Trump will give up the Oval Office smoothly.

“So you think if he loses the election he will just greet her at the door on January 20th?”

“When the clock strikes 12, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court will administer the oath of office to her, no matter where it is—he doesn’t have to show up, he doesn’t have to concede,” O’Donnell said. “The second she takes the oath she’s the president, he isn’t any longer. The Secret Service will physically remove him from the building if he’s still there.”

Maher smirked.

“Listen, did you ever have to remove a tick from your dog? Maher asked. “It’s going to be like that.”

They could do it tomorrow. hint, hint.:)
