russia sends a recon aircraft and 2 fighter jets over Poland
Two Dutch F-35 fighters intercepted a formation of three Russian military aircraft over Poland and escorted them out, the Netherlands' defense ministry said in a statement late on Monday.

"After identification, it turned out to be three aircraft: a Russian IL-20M Coot-A that was escorted by two Su-27 Flankers. The Dutch F-35s escorted the formation from a distance and handed over the escort to NATO partners."

It's hard to know what to make of this. The jets were launched from Kaliningrad, which is both a part of Russia, and part not. That is, it is a geographic "island" completely surrounded by Poland, Lithuania and the Baltic Sea, occupied by and administered by Russia since World War 2 but not part of Russia's continuous territory. So it could have been a logistical error where they had to pass through NATO airspace to reach mainland Russian territory, or it could have been a deliberate provocation to wave a finger at NATO.

A recon aircraft with a fighter escort???

Highly doubtful it was a “logistical error”.

Especially in that part of the world at this moment in time.

Just sayin’

In before the ufo/balons get brought up and blamed for this
