Ok Jkayle this is your spotlight thread and to start things off I have a question for you..

Do you like to cook? Whats your favourite thing to eat?

I do like to cook, although I don't do it as much these days as perhaps I should. I usually do the big meals; Christmas dinner and such; A big roast with home made Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, veg, etc.

As for eating; I'm not very fussy when it comes to food. I eat when I'm hungry. I do get the occasional craving for something, but that tends to be rare. It's a constant source of annoyance for my wife whenever she asks what I want to eat, and I reply that I'm happy to eat whatever is put in front of me.

So, I don't really have a favourite meal; or perhaps I just haven't discovered it yet.

If you could have any super power in the world, what would it be and why?

Hmm, Superpower...

When I was younger, I always wanted to be able to fly. When I hit my teens, x-ray vision seemed to top of the list...I'm not sure why, lol. Now though? That's a difficult question. I think I'd have to go for telepathy and mind reading. I'd love to know what goes on in my wife's brain, and I've never quite been able to follow her logic.

These questions are not easy; five CDs or songs to cater for every possible mood whilst stuck on a desert island... I'll go for albums, just to increase the number of songs.

1. Dio - Lock up the Wolves.

I'd need my rock fix, and there's just something about this album, especially both the title track and 'Evil on Queen Street'. The wailing guitars are just, well, awesome, and it needs to be played loud. At least the desert island wouldn't have neighbours to complain.

2. Pink Floyd - The Wall.

Another old favourite, with many of the songs taking on special meaning at various points in my life. And of course the guitar solos of 'Comfortably Numb' don't hurt, ;) Other favourites from the album are 'Mother', and 'Nobody Home'.

3. Fish - Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors

An album I discovered by accident about 20 years ago. The lyrics are wonderfully poetic. The song 'Cliché' will always be my favourite love song, and 'A Gentleman's Excuse Me', always makes me sad.

4. The Notting Hillbillies - Missing...Presumed Having a Good Time

Not a band as such; Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits getting together with a few friends, doing a single small tour and releasing the one album. I'd chose this just for the one song; the last on the album, 'Feel Like Going Home.' A song about when you've tried everything, failed, and you just want to give up and leave. Very sad, but very powerful.

5. Def Leppard - Hysteria

Every desert island needs a bit of 80's rock, and there's a good mix on this one; ballads, (Love bites, Animal), and pure, feel good, running around, singing along on the top of your lungs fun rock, (Armageddon it, Pour Some Sugar on me, etc.) This was a close tie with Alice Cooper's Trash Album, but being stuck alone on a desert island listening to songs about sex could be a little too masochistic, lol

Love all your choices!!! And #5 is a personal favorite of mine. "Hysteria" is one of my very favorite songs.

Glad you approve YG, but with so many great albums, it is really hard to choose, :D

Oops, missed this. Sorry about the delay...

I'd say late summer is my favourite season; around August to September.

I'd guess because that's the time when the sun is out, nature is at it's best, and perhaps even a throw back to summer holidays from when I was a boy.

I love winter, the short days, the snow, but I don't like being cold, and spring over here usually tends to be wet. Autumn has it's moments, but always seems like the beginning of the end... odd, I know, so I'll go with late summer.

Pleasure:

Is it more important for you or your wife to be satisfied during a typical liaison?

Don't worry, no pressure ... (cue Jeopardy theme ) ;):D

I know that the standard response to this question is usually, “It’s all about her pleasure,” but I think that can be a little one sided, and too much of that can’t be a good thing.

In an ideal relationship, it should be about both, and if each partner is devoted to pleasuring the other, then nothing but good things will happen. If only one partner is devoted to pleasuring the other, then the imbalance, in my humble opinion, causes problems; sex becomes unsatisfying, and you end up in a rut, just going through the motions.

In response to the question, I’d have to answer both. It’s important for her to be satisfied, because she’ll let me have my wicked way with her more often, but without myself being satisfied, it would quickly lose appeal. There has got to be give and take both ways.

I thought I'd throw up the James Lipton questions because I always love the answers it bring back.

1. what is your favorite word?
2. what is your least favorite word?
3. what turns you on [creatively, spiritually or emotionally]?
4. what turns you off?
5. what is your favorite curse word?
6. what sound or noise do you love?
7. what sound or noise do you hate?
8. what profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
9. what profession would you not like to do?
10. if heaven exists, what would you like to hear god say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

i see jen has beaten me to the punch (good call, jen!) so let me ask you this instead:

what brought you to lit (in general) and how to specifically?

Ok, here we go...

1. what is your favorite word?
I'd go with "Yes". Most good things start with the word yes. ;)
2. what is your least favorite word?
Keeping with the above, that would have to be "No"
3. what turns you on [creatively, spiritually or emotionally]?
*notes the qualifier, :D* Hmmm, Difficult question. I love music, but what I'm listening to or playing is usually echoing how I feel emotionally. Most of the time, I can't recognise the spark that switched me on; I'm just aware that "something" has just had an effect on me, and my mental state is in a whole new place to where it was moments before.
4. what turns you off?
Apathy, in a word. I've always been of the opinion that I can do anything if I put my mind to it, and when I hear people saying they "can't" do stuff, it makes me cringe. Often what they mean is that they either don't want to, they're not willing to learn, they've got better stuff to do, or some other such excuse.
5. what is your favorite curse word?
It depends upon the situation. I'm rather fond of the word "fool" in reference to myself when I do something unwise. Also, a blow to the thumb with a hammer can only be expressed correctly with a whole string of expletives; ideally involving some more unusual, created at that moment words. For everyday situations, few words are as versatile as the word "Fuck", although "Shit" can be a close second, lol.
6. what sound or noise do you love?
When in the right hands, few sounds beat the mournful wail of an electric guitar.
7. what sound or noise do you hate?
Mindless, incessant chatter... *shudders*
8. what profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
I've always wanted to be a pilot, ever since I was a boy. One day, or so I keep telling myself, I'll book myself some flying lessons. Of course, first I need to either choose the right lottery numbers or seriously increase my income...
9. what profession would you not like to do?
Anything involving telesales
10. if heaven exists, what would you like to hear god say when you arrive at the pearly gates? "you're late" Lol

I've been coming here and similar places for years. At first, just for the stories; a kind of guilty pleasure itself, but the search for titillation turned into a fascination of sexuality and expression. It's the subject that's too taboo to be openly discussed in public, but here, behind veils of anonymity, there's far less inhibition. With every thread I browse, I learn something new, and often, something new about myself, whether that is examining myself in a new light, or adding another fantasy to my already cluttered mind. Some of these I've explored in fiction, although my readership is mostly limited to my disinterested wife.

I joined lit specifically because I wanted to start posting some of my stories for a wider feedback. I've had a couple of small successes in the past with mainstream type fiction, but writing erotica for me had a different appeal, and I wanted to completely separate the genres, hence the pen name. Of course, like the master procrastinator that I am, I haven't gotten around to submitting any yet, but that should change in the near future.

As for the How To section in particular? You're a great set of folk here. The threads and posts are intelligent, thoughtful, and there's little in the way of undeserved flames. I've learned a lot through the threads, and whilst I don't post very much, I do tend to read most of the threads.

Love these answers, especially the ones about music. I totally identify with them.
