Just happened. Found dead in her apartment, reason for death unknown at this time.

I knew girl had problems and was a wreck, but didn't think this would happen this soon. Damn.

Wow. I was just listening her Back to Black album and wondering if she'd get it together again soon. She was only 27, it's sad.

Sad. Wasn't there an over/under thread on her death posted here sometime back?

That's too bad. The whole history is sad, such a waste of talent.

that sad.
she had a huge talent.
but that's what drugs do for a person.

young and beautiful. before the rot really set in.

I know she made her own choices in her life and ultimately the weight rests with her, but that asshole Pete Doherty had much to do with that rot when he was going out with her. He enabled her addictions. I hope part of his soul is screaming right now.

I had a friend who just OD'd last year, who looked a little like Miss Winehouse, but with shorter hair... Her boyfriend was just as much of a drug-peddling dickback too...

R.I.P.

I think there are more than a few people responsible for her downfall! She sang last month and was obviously in no fit state and still full of drink and drugs with her management and 'friends' swearing she was 'clean' Exploiting someone who had obvious Metal Health problems makes it even more sickening!

Saw a recent performance of hers online. My thought process was, if she hadn't cleaned up by now, she was at risk for going within the next two years. The performance was a train wreck, and the writing was on the wall.

I saw her mentality as having been the same as Chris Farley's: the idea that you have to live the destructive lifestyle to be an authentic artist in your medium. Personally, I think that's bull.

The first and best of the U.K.'s young female "retro" singers; not a strict Dusty Springfield carbon copy (like Duffy). R.I.P.

My only surprise at this is that it didn't happen a few years back.

A lot of talented people attract manipulators. You can try to blame the world for someone's poor judgment, inexperience, and depression, but it won't stick, and always too much to go around.

I saw her in concert in Toronto year's back, a really tiny woman on stage, and between every song she'd take a long swing from her bottle, and the crowd would cheer. It was pretty gross what was happening. My friend said "They're watching her kill herself."

sad but no surprise. her dad must be in pieces; he's fought for her health for so long.
