Like anyone's surprised she'd say something like this:

When the woman asked if the N-word was offensive, Dr. Laura said "black guys say it all the time," then went on to repeat it several times.

Schlessinger did not direct the epithet at the woman, but said she used it to suggest how often she hears it, and that it should not automatically be cause for offense.

When the caller objected, Schlessinger replied: "Oh, then I guess you don't watch HBO or listen to any black comedians."

Her metaphorical grave is getting dug faster and faster...

She a racist, no doubt.

And a witch.

tie a rock to her and see if she floats.

Then burn her

and toast marsh mellows.

nigger

and how did I not burst into flames.

She has nothing to apologize for. The only kind of person who would take offense to the way she used it is people who are hypersensitive about race and they're the only reason racism still exists in this country.

How stupid. Thank you for proving I was right about you in the other thread.

Now, grow a pair and say that you agree with Ginny & miles.

Pointing out racism is not racist, no matter how many times Obama and his ilk repeat that lie.

Pointing out racism is not racist

I agree. That's why I pointed out Ginny's racism, and why I illustrated miles' defense of her racist comments.

Do you think Ginny's comments were racist or not?

Sounds a bit like Sean talking to LT, doesn't it? I mean, I'm not sure exactly what she said, as your link doesn't say, but Sean did something very similar here with LT.

She said, 'Nigger, Nigger, Nigger'

I hope Rory calls him out on that.

I didn't think that her comments, in the context that they were used, were racist.

What do I know, I'm Canadian.

Interesting how you cut out the part about Obama...

I don't care about the nature of her comments. The fact is and my point was that you said she posted in that thread which she never did. Even if her comment is racist that doesn't excuse your dishonesty.

Dodge = pussy = you.

1. I did not. Link to where I said she posted in that thread, or you're a liar.

2. What does it matter where she posted it? Would the context of those particular comments of hers have mattered?

This is so fucking stupid. She had no reason to apologize. There is a difference between saying the word and using the word.

I was watching a TV show a few years ago. It was a Public Televison show about racism. They were talking about how harmful racial slurs could be. One of the panelists said something like this:

"Words like spic, chink, dago, yid, wop, the N word, can be very harmful."

She had no problem saying those other slurs, but she balked at saying nigger. Even in that context.

It is ridiculous.

Words are words. They are not plutonium. They are not toxic.

If I call you a nigger you are welcome to kick my ass. If I am talking about race relations or language or society in America, I might say the word nigger. Get over it.

Ignorance re: racism is alive and well, obviously.

Dr. Laura's slip up wasn't saying "nigger". Read that sentence 10 times, because I have a feeling you won't get it on the first read. Got it? Good.

Dr. Laura's mistake, and the one where she showed her idiocy, is here:

Dr. Laura said:
"black guys say it all the time"

This is a bullshit defense. So what if "black guys say it all the time"? Does that make it okay for anyone, black or white, to say? Is she saying black people can't be racist against black people & can't use it as a racial slur against one another? Yes. And she's wrong.

I am not defending Doctor Stupid. I haven't heard the clip. I'm talking about language in general. All I heard was that she said the word out loud.

Yes, the "brothas say it" defense is totally stupid.

George Carlin's Words You Can't Say on Television logic, while wonderful, doesn't apply here. When you're using "nigger" to refer to a person, you can't divorce the history or sentiment behind the word, any more than you can divorce Ronald Reagan from the term "Reaganomics".

If Dr. Laura was smart, she would've discussed the term in the context of usage without referring to "black people" saying it, or what goes on on HBO. She revealed her true character.

You are right. I spoke too soon. I just read a news blurb that said she felt the need to apologize for saying the word.

Nigger.

It is a really ugly word if you are calling somebody that. Otherwise, it is just a word.

I worked for five years at a museum that dealt with civil rights. I used to catch heat all the time for saying the word out loud. My argument then is the same as it is now: How can you talk seriously about race relations in America without saying that word?

It's ridiculous. Even Lisa Lampanelli won't say nigger. She just says The Blecks.

Why is it interesting?

Because it completely ignores that you're an Obama supporter, which in turn avoids evidence relevant to and in support of the fact that you are yourself racist, which would cast doubt on your own accusations of racism.

Dodge = pussy = you.

It's not a dodge. It really is irrelevant to the fact that you lied.

1. I did not. Link to where I said she posted in that thread, or you're a liar.

Typical propagandist tactic. Throw an accusation back at the accuser to confuse, put them on the defensive and obfuscate the truth.

Not that I should really validate your lies by responding to them, but here:

http://forum.literotica.com/showpost.php?p=34873378&postcount=1

Note the parenthetical comment "same thread" meaning same thread as the quote from Ginny. However, she never posted in the thread you linked in your initial post. Hence the lie. By the way, I've already quoted your IP in that thread, so you can't go back and cover up your lie.

That and you said that I defended miles and Ginny (I didn't) and that by doing so I somehow made myself out to be racist as well (I am not). That's two lies, not counting the implied lie in equating defending a racist with racism itself.

So that's at least three lies.

2. What does it matter where she posted it? Would the context of those particular comments of hers have mattered?

It matters because you lied about it, but it's telling that you would imply that it doesn't matter. Why try to invalidate the relevance if you didn't lie about it? Therefore it's an implicit admission.

In short, you're a damn liar.

Dr. Laura apologized for what she said.

Why did she feel a need to do that?
Because she was buried under a ton of bricks for saying it? Just a guess..

Nigger.

Nigger, nigger, nigger.

Now, try and bury me. I'm not a "celebrity," and I have no reputation to uphold, except among my friends who know me.

See what you can do about it.
