Okay so I finally had to do this so we can get this underway properly and we don't all end up confused!

I'll be giving this link to everyone who has shown interest and thus far we have plenty of males to fill a decent amount of roles; I'm thrilled!

If anymore Ladies stumble across this however, we have lost two females and I only have one to add to this thread so you're welcome to post in here and show your interest.

GOOD GROUP THREAD ETIQUETTE - Highly important to me, I don't want people jumping far ahead in this and if you're selected for the thread or approached for it; it's because you show that you're capable of respect in a group thread and you've shown some semblance of talent in one way or another to me. Yes, I have high standards and rarely become too fussy over anything but this thread is quite dear to me.

Ausus and Bsquad - it's up to you two as to whether or not you'd like to continue playing two characters each. If you'd like to give one up to someone; I'm happy for you to do that provided the writer wants to and can keep the character as is.

We look to have lost Katamari and Faebites; Marotte and Aveline shall be dying off as I don't have permission from the writers to have their characters taken over. I wouldn't like for it to be done to me and in return; I won't do it to another.

Okay so as it stands we're searching for at the very least; a male leader of the raiding party. Other options if you wish to be involved but we find that spot taken are Lords and Ladies obviously, guards within Lord Simons' castle, servants and slaves within the castle or at the slave market (provided Bsquad is looking to do something with that). Any entourage to the royals - Ausus' department so direct a post at her if you wish to play a role like that.

Also Lord Parlasus can be taken up as an NPC by someone should they wish to run home turf for Valstonia (Delara's home country). I'm open to further suggestions - only human, can't think of everything :D

Characters:
Lord Simons - Tio_Narratore
Sargeant Xavier - Bsquad
Prince Antar - Ausus
Princess Arabelle - Ausus
Slave Delara - Minx
Lady Marotte - Katamari
Soryian - Wyld
Hairu - chronicle_tenko
Armina - Fira

And those lost:
Aveline - Faebites
(There were a few more awhile back but I won't bother mentioning those right now)

Okay so I'd like everyone to get a post in here and show your interest, generally I don't really like character bio's but at this point I think we need them so we can place people properly and not end up in a jumbled mess! So tell me who you'd like to play or your thoughts please so then I can keep things straight with everyone and we have some internal communication going on beyond just me.

Prince Antar
Mid 20's
Is a bit of a hothead. Had a relationship with Delara when they were much younger. He means to rule with his sister, when their parents die. He will routinely share lovers with his twin Arabelle. They have won the allegiance of many Lords throughout the kingdom using this tactic.

Princess Arabelle
Mid 20's
Calms her brother's anger. She adores her brother and will rule with him, seeks a consort only. Knows about him and Delara, doesn't much care. She is easily bored with those who aren't in power. But is very quick to pick up a scheme or discover others secrets.

Hey all! Here they are! Arabelle and Antar I will keep, would be hard to have twins and two different writers I think. I can elaborate on this if you think it's necessary, am very excited to see this up and moving again.

Probably won't be able to put up a character bio until Sunday night or Monday morning unfortunately, as, aside from not having been able to read the whole story as of yet, tomorrow and we're having company, and possibly Sunday as well, and it is somewhat late tonight for me to do so.

From what I have read thus far, I think the story is quite compelling, and I am very interested in making a character for this, however.

If I am able to get the rest of the story read (I'm on page 5 at the moment), and am able get something wrote up before Monday, I will definitely do so. I also may have a few questions about the world around the characters in general, as far as their lands and customs, different political conflicts, etc, that might come into play in the story as well.

I very much appreciate the invite to join you...am quite flattered you thought of me. *smiles*

That's not a worry Wyld, we did realize there was a fair amount of reading involved in this thread so I wasn't expecting any instant join ups or anything and we've been anticipating a fair amount of questions.

Thanks for adding that Ausus! I'd appreciate your help and Bsquad's with the answering questions portion of this greatly as well!

And thanks for bringing that up Wyld, didn't think of answering those ones! Right now we have two countries in play - Delara and Xavier's home country of Valstonia and Lord Simons' and the Royal twins' home country which we've just decided to call 'The Empire'.

With regards to political conflicts between these two nations; as it stands they can't agree on a treaty because each want more from the other. Land, money and trade goods. This has brought them to the brink of war so Delara realizes she could become a political prisoner in this as well as a hostage because of her noble heritage. At the same time; she's desperate to escape an arranged marriage to Lord Parlasus because she's feels nothing for him.

Thus far she has led a dull and uninteresting life so she wasn't really prepared to be thrown into such a tail spin. I was rather shocked at how quickly she became very essential to this though and the tale we have spun as I've said was created from many minds and imaginations.

Faebites threw in Aveline getting poisoned, Ausus threw in the raiding party for us, Bsquad threw in his new character Xavier (that quickly became a bit of fun!) and well Delara is just getting thrown around. Period. We've had a lot of plotting going on, some intimate scenarios as Arabelle and Antar joined with raging hormones - thanks Ausus :D

So most of the plotting surrounds Delara and her precarious position, some want to use her, some suspect her in many things, some wish to protect her and some wish to kill or rescue her. I would like to discuss a few matters in private with anyone who wants to play a position within the household as I have an interesting idea or two for that!

Also Juniper died off when Renthead left the thread but I can ressurrect her if I need to and we have trouble getting more females to join. I don't want too large a number of people so we do have a cut off point or else it simply becomes a mess that no one can be bothered with. I'd rather NPC or introduce another character of my own making before I do that!

Thus far I've had four out of the ten blokes I pm'd reply to me so I'm thrilled with that as each of you were the top four I had hoped would show interest. If all of you join and my other female writer joins; that makes eight so I'd like to know thoughts on a people limit as I've been in threads with vast numbers and had them fall very much to pieces.

This doesn't yet compare with the largest which was about 16 people - ridiculous. But that's also where good group thread etiquette comes into play and not trying to move too quickly however eager some of us might be...Ausus... :D

And I will stop rambling now and pray that you're all still interested! Please ask any questions and if I don't answer or I don't know; I'm certain Bsquad and Ausus have no problem jumping over my carcass to answer any of you :D

I read through it. The Empire seems like Rome. Empress, both genders learn, though women are still kept somewhat down and are unable to serve in the military (for the most part), with Delara's country of Valstonia seeming like the Visigoths. But that's just me, could easily be the Normans and the Celts.

I may hold back depending on needs and other considerations. I don't want to play a seventh male to a two female cast. It complicates things and brings the requisite balanced ration up to a twelve person cast.

Having been part of some super large threads before. 6 and 4 work alright. But I'm sorry I'm just unwilling to crossplay this one. 10 people tops, after that it becomes a massive exercise in finding time between you all. And everyone will then step on people's toes. And for Ten all your writers must stay in contact with each other for planning.

That said I do wonder about the tech level and time period. Do we have roads? Running water? Steel? I've seen we have cloth and riding clothes, but do we have looms? Or hand stitched things. Do people know how to write?

I got lots of questions.

Okay well technically not everyone is on board yet as people are still reading the IC thread so it's a bit of a waiting game in that regard so we can see where people fit and so forth. Still waiting to hear from the one female I hope will join though she doesn't usually have much computer time on the weekends so have patience with the ratio of men to women guys! :) I agree that ten would be the absolute roof for this.

Okay in this time they have running water and looms, hand sewing as well, yes the well educated (Nobles) can write. Generally the ladies in waiting have to be taught to write bare essentials as well ;) that's supposed to be a problem of Delara's and a tell but we haven't gotten to it yet alas!

Steel I'm not sure about, I based this thread off a series of books I read where a slave girl played a very minute part in it. The time period is somewhat fantastical as the countries were our creation and I can't really expect everyone to get every little detail right.

Ladies can also speak French but there hasn't really been call for it - yes...now I've done it and Ausus you are not allowed to go crazy frenchie on me! Ladies in the time period also had skill in archery (hence Delara's scene for that) and some skill with daggers if they were taught or so desired. This was in my research for Delara.

Hope this helps some!

Awww ma chere! Tu m'adore!

I swear you make me sound like the naughtiest writer on the block.

I think with the technology we've been playing fast and loose with it. I would imagine that if you can make it seem relatively reasonable, it can be worked in, Chronie.

Wyld I cannot wait for the opprotunity to write with you some more. Although, I know Marlina isn't done toying with grey or thomas.

And Chronie... you did say group thread.. I bet you'd be badass nerdy here too.

Á bientôt mes amis.

Although not set in stone, I actually WAS entertaining the idea of making a member of household staff already, as I figured it'd be a nice contrast, seeing most everyone else is playing nobility. So, feel free to PM me, Minx...would be interested in hearing your idea. :)

I suppose I might be, and those things work. I was more just wondering how armor works here and whether, we have good swords, and shields. Cause Bronze age stuff is Heavy. If french is there though we're most definitely Normans and Celts.

Malheureusement je parle seulement français. Non tous les Canadiens sont bilingues. Je Parle un petit peu, et ma grammaire est horrible.

But I do read it ok. 11 years of immersion.

Alright waiting for tohers I can play. I do have to get my ass moving on heart In chains.

No kidding hunny, I wanna read the next bit already! :D

Wyld - PMíng you shortly ;)

Ausus... *growls* knew it, knew it, knew it! Damn...and yes, you are the naughtiest writer on the block - Antar was driving me insane when we left off!

Well, heya, I'm playing Lord Simons and Xavier, the Lord's guard captain.

With the restart, I'm thinking of making Simons an NPC and just playing Xavier since I really like the character. But if it's possible I'd like to play both.

As for who my characters are,

Lord Simons is the ranking military commander for the Empire. He's talented, very competent, and loyal to the Empire as a whole, not a man who has time for politics, but who can play the games of the court very well. He's led a distinguished career, fighting as a line soldier and earning his position on merit alone. He has the trust of the Emperor, the army, and the wary respect of his opponents. He's led the emperorers armies to many victories. He's not sadistic, but enjoys a challenge. He's an honorable man, and he won't comprimise his priciples...but he will enjoy things if he has the chance, just as a man of his station feels that he deserves.

Xavier, is an unsual person. He was a minor noble in his homeland (the same as Delara), a legendary warrior and soldier. He fought in the war against the Empire and Lord Simons showed him respect and mercy when he was defeated in combat, and Xavier's gratitude as a warrior and his loyalty to death. After the war he returned to Lord Simons's estate castle and took the position of Captain of Lord Simon's bodygard. He's an exceptionaly loyal man, willing to die for the Lord, and he's a man of fine honor. A master swordsman, and very much not the kind to tolerate the games of higher nobles. He's a soldier, a swordsman.

I'll defer to minx on the setting, but I can only say that I visualized it as being medieval with a bit of odditiy, the world is fantasy, not historical. Lord Simons...and the empire, I see as being very much high gothic, dark and strange, elaborate citadels. Xavier, Eastern, more along the lines of a Japanese samurai in dress manerism and the way he holds himself as a person. But that's just how I see things in my mind.

I don't like bio descriptions or pics, but if anyone would like me to do more fleshing out, I'm more than willing. *smiles*

Glad L&L isn't dead, and I'd really like to say welcome to all the fresh players.

Stick to what I am good at ma chere, besides I know what drives you crazy, and I played to those weaknesses. It's what a good co-writer does.

Alright Ladies and gents.. where are we at and when can I post? Laughs

Ok so Lord Simons is up for grabs right now plus we have Wyld taking up the household member and we need our leader for the raiding party...

Is that about right?

Gotta get onto Fira about joining and I think we're set...leaves us with a male and female ratio of four to three...that's not including Antar though so five to three technically with characters...I think...

Does that sit well with everyone cause I can always ressurrect Juniper if need be?

Huh. Well talk about irony and bad intentions. Here I am asking if I can take over Xavier so that we can cut back on characters and get everyone still in.

Is strange, and inconvenient. I will have to think a little more then, especially because if this raiding party is from the same country as Delara and Xavier, and that country is more eastern and oriental (or samurai-ish Grrrr. you have no idea how much I hate that stereotype.) kinda screws with the character I had in my head as well that I auditioned with. I'll think of something very soon. Till then I'll keep watching the thread and OOC.

Okay so it now stands:

Delara - Minx
Xavier - Bsquad
Simons (NPC) - Bsquad (Sort of require him to still keep up a big part for now though)
Arabelle - Ausus
Antar - Ausus
Leader of the raiding party - Chronie
Soldier - Wyld (I think that's right Wyld?)

And Fira I hope will be joining as soon as she gets to read the thread and so forth! Probably as a member of the raiding party, a female involved so they don't arouse suspicion perhaps? Not sure on that yet but I'll wait for her thoughts...

Ausus you can post as Antar freely now, Bs...hmmm...I think you should just set Xavier off in another direction? Arabelle and Simons are still together right? Kill Marotte off and continue as though she was never there I guess, no easy way to explain the sudden loss really...

Wyld you can jump in when you like, just as a character that was always there but is now getting more spotlight.

And that's fine Chronie, whenever you're ready hun!

Is this okay with everyone?

Sorry for the delay folks. My time on lit is slim to none on weekends. I haven't had a chance to take a look at the IC yet, but will between catching up my posts I fell behind on over the weekend. I like the idea of being part of the raiding party...just need to figure out what kind of role she plays in the raiding party. CT, we can go over that together if you'd like.

For now, I'm back to playing catch up. will post again if I have questions, etc.

Uh sure. Though I need to talk to Bsquad about how and where this other country works, because if Xavier and Delara are from this nation I need some background before I make up a whole bunch of details you're all uncomfortable with following.

And Fira sure I'd be happy to have you in my raiding party. Don't suppose you'd like to lead it then?

I've offered to take on the role of Lord Simons; as an Imperial General, I assure you that the raiding party will not find their mission easy.

Is ok sir. I assure you, I and my tiny little squad plan on introducing your Lord Simon general and wielder of a bulky army to an Ulcer. Welcome to guerrilla land. We have no concept of honor.

Apparently Unlike Xavier.

Jumps up and down excitedly!

I wholly approve of Tio taking over Lord Simons!! Arabelle will find him quite the challenge!!!

A bulky army may still be adaptable...Lord Simon cut his teeth on the playing fields: victory is the only honor; all else is pretense.

*Whispers* Explain that to your princelings and subjects as we burn your town. *Snickers* *Mocking falsetto* Oh no they done set fire to the outhouses again....

and then fell headlong into the shitholes they uncovered. You'd think that after they burned the outhouses, they'd at least of marked the spots. Well, they did say they had no concept of honor, and it would seem none of hygiene as well.

Here you go....hope this works for you...

**********************************

Character Bio:

Name: Soryian An'Delar

Occupation: Soldier - Member of Lord Simon's Bodyguard

Appearance:

Soryian is an imposingly handsome looking man of Valstonian birth, with long black hair swept back into a ponytail, and piercing jade-green eyes. He is well muscled but moves with an almost cat-like grace, an extremely quick and agile opponent. Much like Xavier, he is a swordmaster, although of less renown than his commander, and is also ambidexerous, favoring a two-blade fighting style.

Background:

Soryian has been a member of Lord Simon's household for several years, and his prowress in battle has elevated him to a position of Lord Simon's personal guard, second only to Xavier, the only man who Soryian deems an equal in the way of the blade, as in sparring sessions, the two men frequently fight each other to a draw.

Soryian respects Xavier's sword skills, but surprisingly, beings they hail from the same homeland, does not hide the fact that he has little regard for Xavier as a person...most assume this disdain is due to competitiveness and jealousy, as if it were not for Xavier, Soryian would be in command of the bodyguard.

Still, he follows the commands of both Lord Simon and Xavier without open complaint, and holds an outstanding record of service. In the past, he has had romantic dalliances with some of the more attractive female household staff, but this has never impeded upon his duties. Soryian is well-liked and respected among the other members of the bodyguard, as well as the common soldiers and servants, as he treats everyone equally...the only person he seems to have any animosity towards, is Xavier.

Soryian does not speak of his past often, but has eluded to the fact that he had once been in the Valstonian military, and had done something bad enough to be exiled from his homeland. The servants of the castle have many rumors flying around about this...some say he was caught having a dalliance with his commander's wife, others say he killed his commanding officer...Soryian will not elaborate on it, however, so this is all speculation.

**********************************

Let me know if I need to revise anything.

Oh you dirty man. it is only because we are tunnelling experts, we didn't fall we're using the holes to collapse the foundation of your empire. Sides we bathe after we finish killing.
