OOC for an open Superhuman RP

Hello!

I'm putting together a superhuman RP along with PrudeinOC. It's an original world with original characters. Characters will be limited to one power and will be human in every other way, except for that one power. If this sounds similar to Heroes or X-Men, well, it is.

The premise is as follows: the college we attend has a biochem professor working on a nanotech gene modifier. He comes across a fairly successful processs but its not quite right when he tests it on animals. So he gets rid of it, but accidentally flushes it into the town water supply. People around town begin to develop powers the same time we do, and the professor is trying to round them up to study them.

Powers to choose from are not limited to:

Superstrength
Superspeed
Flight
Healing
Invulnerability
Shapeshifting
Energy blasts
Levitation/telekinetics
Forcefields
Invisibility
Grow
Shrink
Intangibility
Super Senses
Super Dexterity
Empathy

And that's about all I can think of off-hand. If you have your heart set on another power for a character feel free to ask in PM or in this thread.

You'll notice that mind reading is not on the list. I don't particularly enjoy RPing with psychic characters so I didin't list the power on purpose.

20 years old, short cropped black hair, Bright green eyes. Slender, 34B cup, Feisty attitude and a little on the kinky side, with a no one guy can hold me attitude. I typically do well in school, but I tend to find lecture boring. My newly developed power will be persuasion. IE, If I want something and I "persuade" the person to do it for me, without question they do it.

Can my character have the power...to mimic powers?

Winterfrost, I've got no problem with a power mimic so long as you're limited to one power at a time of someone nearby. Peter Patrelli may as well have been Superman.

White Rabbit, if you mean the ability to make multiple clones of yourself running around, that's fine. We'd need to agree on a maximum number of clones though.

Just a thought. If White Rabbit makes clones of herself and then uses them to pleasure herself, is that masturbation or lesbianism?

Still trying to pick a power myself. I should have a character up soon.

I would not mind joining this. I am leaning towards being able to master fire... but there are soo many possibilities. I will have to think of the power sometime today.

but clones of me would be fun

yeah... I don't know how you would end up that way in this story line... but the kinky clone thing would be awesome... cause you know they know the right spot...


What would be really really awesome is if you/your clones all felt thing, so if your clone gets punched you feel it... if your clone is licking your clit, she feels it... then you both get off simultaneously until you both get to climax simultaneously...

Could be interesting. I think you should work that angle. Cause being a clone of superman, well he doesn't exist here (beyond a fictional television character) so that would be a little hard and then how did you get created? You would have had to been cloned at least 18 years ago so that just doesn't work with the story line...

It's all about kinky fun and all, but stick to the "rules" of the post and it will be more fun for everyone and a more challenging role play.

I think I'm going to take telekinesis. There's something intriguing about being able to rub a girl's clit without touching her.

Imagine you're sitting in a boring lecture, the professor droning on and suddenly you feel something rubbing against your clit, teasing you, moving back and forth over your slit.

Mmm... Now that I think of it, I think that my character is going to have the ability to raise the temperature of things around her. The only side effect of this is right now, she can't control her focus on where this heat is going so sometimes, she gets very hot.

Its one power but as we all know, its hard for us to contain our focus on where our powers are going in the very beginning.

Sweety, I would consider energy generation and energy manipulation two separate powers. For instance, Pyro from the X-Men movies can control fire but he can't make it. In the movies his powers are fairly tame, but in the comics he does some amazing things.

Firestar, from the comics and the old spider-man and his amazing friends cartoon, would be very similar to what you're describing. Able to fire bursts of heat and eventually fly after a fashon. In reality you'd have a hard time with air currents and every time you wiggled your bum you'd have to make a course correction.

But yeah, I like the idea if Prude does.

It's cool, so long as it's not an attempt to "cheat" into getting more powers, it's cool.

It's about having fun, so do as you like.

I like the idea of super power and putting them in the world to see what happens a great deal. I'd love to be part of this, particularly since it's not an established world, meaning it can really be our creation.

I'm also a gamer who really appreciates world building, so I may be biased.

Anyway, I have a few different ideas I could play out. Flight is a love of mine, as is super speed. How they lend themselves to an SRP, I"m not sure though. I also like the idea of a really scrawny geek kid getting super strength...but then I don't know that he'd be able to play in the sexual aspects without hurting someone.

Any comments or thoughts? I'd like to be part, but I'd appreciate some assistance in what would work well.

it may be a bit nerfed, but you have to admit, playing it like peter would be god modding by anyones definition

Not really. I can think of plenty ways to to limit it without outright nerfing it.

Winter, you asked a question and I answered it. If I hit a nerve I apologize, that wasn't my intent. I'm sorry you don't like my answer, but it is not going to change.

I happen to like Superman and Peter Petrelli. I wouldn't allow either of them in this RP. Nor the Martian Manhunter, Hero, the Hulk, or a host of other characters. They're all great characters in their own right, but none of them have a place here.

Let me make this clear to everyone: a good story is about characters and character growth. Character growth is accomplished through conflict. If a character is too powerful they have a limited number of challenging conflicts available to them. We happen to like superpower stories, and we want to write good stories so we've limited the powers. Everyone can get hurt or potentially killed (though the individual writer would make that decision). Even if you're invulnerable you can still drown, or suffocate. Conflict makes good stories.


Moving on, Armphid, who wouldn't want to have sex while flying. Superspeed - give a woman say ten orgasms in a minute. Superstrength is generally going to be more restrictive then permissive in sex, no woman would ever ask you to go harder though. She's going to have to do all the work until you get ahold of your powers. Of course, if you happen to meet an invulnerable lady you'd be able to really cut loose.

Kitten, what restrictions do you have in mind for forcefields? Don't expect me to like the idea of an Invisible woman, pseudo telekinesis version of the power, because I won't. Rampart, from Sovereign Seven would be fairly doable, though I'd want penetration restrictions, shape limitations and size maximums. Like say, an armor-piercing .50 caliber rifle round would punch through your forcefield. That's equialent to about a quarter inch of steel armor. If you don't understand that, I can explain it or just google it. Or youtube Barrett 50 cal for video.

dont worry, i wouldnt go the invisible woman route, if i was gonna go crazy with it i would use it like an AT feild (from an anime, practicaly impenitrable, was occasionaly used to slice things in half) but i dont like going overboard, so i figure it would just be a forcefeild, so it would stop a 50 cal round, but if he tried to stop a hail of small arms fire (9mm and the like) it would quickly exaust him till he either stopped or passed out

as for offensive, maybe be able to focus the forcefeild in to a blade?
