OOC: Genesis XII

IC:

The massive ship, Genesis XII orbited over a planet its people named Earth, hidden from its meager technology by her own highly advanced cloaking.

AI was busy collecting data for her women while two of them were being released from cryostasis: Yarin and Kralk, two of the youngest.

AI already had thousands of potential mates for them to review.

Kralk

Kralk didn't mind being in suspended animation, which is probably why she was well suited for this trip. The goo gradually drained away and she took her first gasping breath of air. The air tasted strange, undoubtedly due to being processed a billion times. She allowed her body temperature to adjust before stepping out of her tube.

She used her hands to wipe most of the goo off her body, shaking slightly as she continued to warm up. "Are we there yet?" she asked, her melodic voice filling the chamber. She noticed a towel and used it to remove as much material as possible.

"Complete assimiliation please," the AI droned.

She laughed and stepped into the shower, the mist and high pressure air removing any remaining contaminents. She loved the feel of water against her skin, and after stepping into the hallway she asked again.

"Are we there yet?"

Max yawned as he stretched out on his back porch. Okay, it wasn't his, but it was his friend's. So his pal had loaned the condo to him for his vacation. He had his eyes lazily half-open as he watched the starry sky. Suddenly he heard a loud rumbling and he looked around, his eyes widening as he looked skyward again.

Flying right over head was a spaceship! It couldn't be anything else! It was too low to be a plane, and moved too fluidly to be a helicopter! He ran back inside and grabbed a jacket and his shoes then dashed out, running in the direction he saw it moving.

A hovering optic approached Kralk, circling her. "Your question is illogical, there was never a pre-destination registered for this trip." A synthesized voice eminated from the orb. "However, scans of the planet below suggest that the humaniod life is 99.9% compatible with the Genesis crew. I have been busy collecting information on potential mates, would you like to review them now?"

Below, on the planet, a damaged probe, its cloaking capability disabled, decended over the condo Max was vacationing at. Its external sensors detected him and began holographically recording his actions.

Half the world away, a second probe, which remained cloaked was collecting holo-video of another young man as he leaned over the railing of his 100 foot yacht, tossing fish out to a pod of dolphins that were following along side the boat.

"What happened to the Exodus and my predesignated mate?" she knew there was no predetermined destination, but it just seemed like the right question. She looked at the nearest info screen, the planet was largely water, which made her happy. "Hey can you scan me and let me know how far I am from my next ideal conception date?"

"Review away," she looked over a vast array of the local humanoids. It was a lot of information to absorb. "Stop, show me ten that are most biologically compatible with me." Ten was a lot easier to scan through, and considering what had happened she couldn't risk bonding to a poor match.

Yarin could feel herself waking, her chamber had already opened and she could hear commotion from others and the ship’s AI, it sounded like something had gone wrong, yet she stepped right out of the chamber and walked up to Kralk, she herself hearing what was happening as she walked over, that there now was no ship full of mates, that they were now stuck out in space over a strange planet and now the AI wanted to pair them off with these strange beings on the planet, none that seemed to impress her at all, but she knew that she had a duty and would do almost anything that would save her kind!

Max stopped as he saw the optic drone close in on him, he put up his arms but noticed it just hung there, when he moved to the side it turned to keep him in its sight. Upon closer inspection he saw a red light in the center of the optic's pupil. Suddenly it clicked and turned green, a voice emanating from it, "Please follow this module for the aid of our species."

It then turned around and flew off again towards the now landed ship. Max had to run to keep up with it! Suddenly he found a large clearing in the forest he had been running through and saw the ship still steaming from the landing. The drone then flew up to what had to be a door as a ramp came off and landed at Max's feet.

Startled he jumped back, but when he realized it wanted him to come on he slowly climbed up the slope of the ramp. He stood behind what appeared to be glass doors, yet he couldn't see past them at all...until they slid open with a hissing noise that is. "Hello?" he called out, "Is anything in here? Can you understand me?"

"The Exodus has not reported to me for more than one hundred life cycles. It is asumed lost, therefore I initiated Genesis protocol two: Search for humanoid life compatable with 90% of the Genesis crew. I did not initiate rejuvenation protocol until I had found such a planet." AI answered dutifully as it hovered close by Kralk.

AI zipped back a few inches at Kralk's request to be scanned for data on her ovulation cycle. "Are you sure you wouldn't rather I scan you in private?" AI asked, indicating Yarin's approach, the heat panels on either side of the hovering optic glowing red for a moment.

Three of the most compatable males were instantly compiled for Kralk at her request. Holograms of them appeared around her. Where the others should have appeared only spheres of white light hovered, scrolling text within their frames, which read: Processsing request.

1. Gerald Hofsteader: The holo image was of an obese man with a wisp of grey hair combed over a bald spot.

2. Daryl wyte: A bean pole of a man, with bony cheeks stood tall and proud.

3. Ian Nelson: A younger man, his brown hair wind swept stood, his blue eyes seemed to look out over a distant expanse. He had some facial hair, but appeared to keep it closely groomed.

The fourth sphere began to display another young man, though the image warbled in and out constantly. "Warning, breach of protocol. Lockdown comensing." AI anounced as it hovered frantically around the image being displayed. "Opening audio recievers"

The man in the image appeared to be climbing aboard one of Genesis' short range shuttle crafts. As he entered he called out "Hello? Is anything in here? Can you understand me?" Just then, the entrance ramp he had climbed up whired shut, trapping him inside.

OOC: This post is to be read as though it is taking place at the same time as the last post.

IC:

A second AI sphere hovered up to Yarin. "May I be of any assistance designation: Yarin?" Asked the AI sphere.

Max let out a startled yelp as he fell headfirst into the nearby pilot seat. He stood up only to bang his head on the ceiling and fall into the chair properly. He rubbed his head as he looked around, fumbling for a light switch, but suddenly the craft lit up automatically.

"W-what is going on??" Max asked with not a small amount of worry. He had seen one too many sci-fi flicks and was frightened that now he was alone they would vaporize him or something.

Something that reminded Max of the interogation droid from star wars popped out of the ceiling of the space craft, only this thing looked like it was made of white plasteel, not black. It turned in mid air and hovered over toward him, its center appearing to be a camera optic lens. "Please remain calm humanoid designation: Max. I am detecting elevated levels of adrenaline in your blood stream."

"You could say that! Let me the fuck out of here!" Max yelled at the droid but then paused, what the hell? "How do you know my name? Have you been spying on me or something?" He sat up attentively and tried to take in his surroundings but not letting the droid leave his sight.

Yarin frowned at the computer, she knowing now that there would be no second ship full of mates for her and the other female and then said, “Yes, would you please list the top five most well matched mates for me AI?”

She wasn’t too thrilled at the idea of mating with these aliens whom called themselves humans, they all looked so plain and boring to her, and at the same time she didn’t want her kind’s dna to be diluted by such a kind of them. But she looked through the list that was offered to her, looking at the images hoping that she would at least become somewhat attracted to one or two!

"I am sorry, Max, but I cannot do that. Please try to remain calm. Everything will be explained to you in time. Learning your name was a simple matter of checking your government's records." AI answered through the hovering sphere aboard the shuttle.

Aboard the Genesis XII AI extrapolated a list for Yarin to review. Ian and Max showed up in her list as well, the other three men were non-discript and plain.

Kralk

She sighed loudly as she quickly pieced together that this species had descended from apes, and were still rather hairy, but she braced herself, hoping her own genetic code would dominate any children. She picked out Ian's and asked the AI to further investigate him.

"Scan me whenever, I'm going to go for a swim. Is there any chance of being allowed to try out the local waters?" Kralk had a pretty good defense system, an underwater sonar that would cause any nearby predators to go away. She could also breathe underwater and would have no problems concealing herself from the Earthlings. She waved at Yarin, and did sort of a half shrug as if to say, 'what can you do in a situation like this one.'

"Good luck with your search, I'm in desperate need of some water time."

Max slumped back in the chair, now more annoyed than scared. "Well I wanna evoke my rights as a sentient and evolved creature, now tell me what the hell is going on!"

Tapping his foot on the floor, Max considered punching one of the buttons on the command panel in front of him to open up the door and get the hell out of there...or better yet take this thing to where the aliens that created it were.

AI Sphere to Kralk.

"Affirmative, the human, Designation: Ian will continue to be monitored. Would you like any of the other males monitored, Designation: Kralk?" The AI sphere asked as it followed her to the swimming facilities.

The large pool of water was lit from below, giving it a glistening, ethereal quality. "I can scan you now, if you like."

AI Sphere to Max.

"Bvvvreet! Linguistic's error detected. Did you mean envoke? If so, I am not aware of any rights reguarding full disclosure based upon a being's sentience." As the sphere spoke to him, the shuttle hummed to life around them. Alien words and symbols flashed across the console in front of Max as the shuttle followed a pre programed set of protocols. Within seconds the vessel lifted off.

OH SHIT!!!! The thing took off!! "Hey!! What the hell! Where are we going????"

Max gasped, having the wind knocked out of him as they broke the Earth's atmosphere. He was stilled doubled over, trying to regain his breath when the main ship came into view. By the time he had recovered he was sitting in the docking bay of the Genesis XII.

Looking around hurriedly he looked back up at the drone, " 'Scuse me for not speakin' proper english, stupid robot. Now where the hell are we and why'd you take me here?"

"You're forgiven designation: Max, however I must inform you that the proper term for me is droid, but you may call me AI. To answer your questions: We are aboard the Genesis XII, your hosts ship, more specifically, this is the ships docking bay. I brought you here for security reasons. You have seen proof of our existance, and must be dealt with accordingly. Please follow me, I will take you to designation: Yarin. She is not busy at the moment, and will decide what is to be done about this situation."

"I think Ian," her mouth wrapped around the strange sounding name, "Will suit me just fine. I'd like to know when he slumbers as I assume we want to be stealthy in our initial contacts?"

"Scan away," she turned to face the floating interactive unit, feeling the warmth of the scanner. She listened to the reply before diving into the pool luxeriating in the feel of fluid upon her skin once more. Her mind focused on Ian, attempting to accustom herself to the idea of mating with him repeatedly. While young and fertile it would still probably take a few cycles to conceive. Her designated mate would have helped her raise any children and continued to mate with her to produce many children. This male, Ian, she mentally corrected herself, would he be just a genetic donor, or a true mate?

She finally got out of the pool, the water shedding off her skin. "AI how do you suggest I may contact with Ian?"

AI Sphere to Kralk

"Very well, Designation: Ian Nelson's bioscan suggest that he will need to rejuvenate in two earth hours. Stealth would be suggested." The AI sphere's side panels glowed red again, no doubt due to the 'mistake' that was currently being brought aboard.

A warm green sheet of light formed and passed up and down Kralk's body, eminating from AI's optics. "You will be at your most fertile in ten earth hours, which you will remain for another twenty four, your next fertile period will be three earth weeks following. Shall I continue to extrapolate your cycle...?" AI asked, being answered by Kralk's splash into the pool.

The AI Sphere hovered silently by while Kralk had her swim, waiting for her next request. "After some study, I have found that our technology will allow us to manipulate human REM state, to fascillitate direct communication. The human will think it a dream. In this manner, you might learn if the two of you are compatable without revealing our presence."

Kralk

"Sounds good, set it up, and alert me when he is prepared for communication."

Ten hours was not that long, and she considered that it could be a lot worse, and figured she would know before her next cycle at least. It seemed a shame to waste even one cycle, but she was young and had many cycles ahead of her.

"Can you run genetic analysis on what our expected offspring would look like? Also what is the anticipated long term outcome?" She wasn't sure if the ship was prepared to support offspring, or how she would blend into the Earthlings world, much less how her children would adapt. She dove back into the water and a couple of hours later she heard the alarm. She sprang from the water and headed to the designated communication area. She leaned back in the chair and allowed the AI to place a device on her cerebral cortex.

It took some time to adjust to the imputs, and she eventually wove her way into his mental picture. He was dreaming about water and she swam in it, allowign him to approach her within his dreamscape.

AI Sphere to Kralk

"Affirmative, you will be alerted when the male has entered his rejuvenation chambers." The AI Sphere answered as it hovered off to accomplish the second objective Kralk had tasked her with.

Two hours later Kralk climbed out of the water, AI leading her to the science lab where she would initiate communication with the human, Ian, through his dreams. "I have extrapolated a composite of what your offspring might look like based on samplings of your combined dna. I have also taken the liberty of running the diagnostic through the genetics purifier as well. Would you like to see them now?"

Kralk

She was constantly amazed by the AI, her own interests lay in marine biology and the like. Once chosen for this mission she had expanded her knowledge base to cover topics of interest that her designated mate had, now she hoped her knowledge of music, and such would be of interest to her eventual human mate.

She looked like herself in his dream, the pale lavender skin, darker spots running along her arms, legs, and back, her breasts buoyed by the water as she swam about, breaking the surface and floating on her back.

It was a strange sensation, as if one part of her was there with him, the other lying in the communication chair, her eyes closed, helped focus the images being directed to her. "I'll review the images later, no need to get my hope up if we are not socially compatible. Thanks AI."

She was fully absorbed into his dream, adjusting to his perception filter, and waiting to see how he would react to her presence.

Ian's dreamscape

In Ian's dream, he sat on a rocky pillar that rose from the ocean's depths. All around him, as far as the eye could see a, the calm ocean stretched. He waded his feet in the water and smiled as a dolphin launched from under the surface, spinning in the air, before splashing back down, and out of sight. Out the corner of his eye he thought he saw a woman swimming near by. He turned to look, but she'd ducked under the surface. "H-hello?" He called out, comming to the edge of the rocky pillar he stood on, scanning the waters in the direction he had seen her.
