Fred, you would have loved the first strip show I ever saw. It was in Houston, Tx, about 40 years ago. This woman came out on the stage in full evening attire, even the long gloves. She sat down on a stool, they lowered the lights with just a spot on her, and she started talking in this beautiful Lauren Bacall type voice. I don't remember what she talked about, but as she talked she undressed, very slowly. It took at least 5 minutes for her to remove just the gloves, loosening each finger on one hand, slowly pushing the gloves down, and finally pulling them off. The whole act was like that, slowly and carefully removing each item as she talked. Other than background music there wasn't a sound to be heard, the audience was enthralled with her voice and her actions.
Sweet Lady... it is a art.. sadly a lost one to many... I grewup knowing one to the old time burlesque queens from the 30 and 40's.... when I turned 18 she did a set for me... she had to be over 70 at the time... I remember it even today 35yrs later. And you know there was only one time in the 30 minutes I saw here fully naked.... thats when she was done and came over and gave me a kiss...... yes I had to promise to sit in chair and not move until she was done
