This link shows not all adverts are as they first appear.

Adverts

At least I know it is not my fault that my mind constantly ticks on a sexual level
I obviously see too many ads!!!

Neat!!

I love that kind of stuff, but never seem to notice it myself ;)

that was intersting

that last one was really obvious.. i wonder what it was an ad for

Ok, some of those I can see being on purpose, but some I think he was really looking too hard. Talk about a dirty mind.

I think that guy has waaay too much time on his hands. The last photo was obviously meant to be suggestive. The rest? They were a stretch IMHO.

haha... he was obviously trying really hard with the girl with the hair...

Oh btw... What's so bad about it when "sex" is the subliminal message :p

Yes, a lot of it wasn't really there. It's just like staring at patterned tile floors or popcorn ceilings and seeing pictures in them. I do that all the time. I mostly see faces, but I'm sure if I was looking for "SEX" or a penis, I'd find it.

Taking the second question seriously, which it wasn't, I'm pretty sure, people don't like to be manipulated unless the manipulation is overt. They don't like to be motivated on the subconscious level by someone else.

Here, very recently, a bunch of slots were taken out of the charity casinos because they flashed the "Jackpot" indicator when being used at a speed to quickly for a person to notice it but enough that the brain would register it.

Danielle Godard - All Headline News Staff Writer
Toronto, ON (AHN) - Ontario gamblers could have been subjected to subliminal messages when playing slots until last week when 87 machines were discontinued for further investigation.

CBC investigations found that the machines, created by Japanese company Konami, were flashing winning jackpot symbols at players every two seconds for only a fifth of a second.

Whether the symbols had an effect on a person's gambling is unclear and the matter has been taken up by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.

The company says the images are a "software glitch" and they are making efforts to change the machines' programming.

Game titles Most Wanted, Sergeant Fritter, and Billionaire were all affected by the computer glitch, while another game, Sticks and Stones, was only available in the U.S.

U.S. gaming authorities are also looking into possibly pulling the games until the glitch is fixed.

If this interests you, there's a much more in-depth article here.

Forgot to say..I was a kid back in the day when the pic of the man in boxers caused a huge ruckus. It was in the Sears catalog in the 70's and my little friends and I studied it very carefully. Alas, there is no penis in the pic it is a flaw that poppede up during printing. The same pic ran in the previous catalog and the "penis" was not visible in it. We were so sad when we learned the truth.

The idea of subliminal messaging is...interesting, but I don't think it actually works. You have to truely be looking for the "dirty" to be able to find it...and being told that "Hey, here's the dirty!" sets you up for seeing it more easily. (Not necessarily finding it every time, but finding it more easily...I've been TOLD where the word "sex" is in "The Lion King" and I still can't find it.)

Kinda like the Judas Priest suicides back in the day...my psych prof played the music (backwards) first without telling us what to listen for, and then told us and played it again. The first time it was gobbeldygook, but the second time you could clearly hear what it was that supposedly caused these kids to kill themselves...because we were listening for it. (Same as the parents of the kids, they were listening for something, anything, that puts the blame on anyone else but their kids for their deaths.)

Pretty much my opinion. Some of those I can see being done deliberately, but where sex is written out? That's really stretching it. I mean how long did he have to stare at the picture to find the word sex written in them?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Lionkg2.jpg I never would have seen it has I not known to look for it. It's only visible in one frame and I am not convinced it really spells anything out or if, as you say, the suggestion of it has planted the image in my head.

I remember there was an uproar about someone in The Little Mermaid sportin' a woody. All I saw was a guy with really knobby knees.

I think the perverts are the ones who see this stuff.

But, but, but, I thought WE were the perverts!!

Maybe we'r enot working hard enough at being perverts. We need to spend hours looking at pictures of pine chips and find the word sex in it. OH WAIT, WE CAN'T! WE ALL HAVE LIVES! :p

The Lion King Pic is interesting. I did see it straight away but then I was looking for it!
I never noticed when I saw the film lol

The last pic of the first link, someone used to have that as an AV.
I know they changed it, and it was someone time ago; but damned if I can remember who it was.

Gracie do you remember?

Last I heard she has a mistress, and is busy. ;) Plus she's about to leave for England, to go to college there. The phone that has her phone number in it got stollen and I haven't seen her since then to get it from her.

That page is trying too hard... If you want to find subliminal messaging in advertisements Oh i could pull out a few hum dingers.

By the by, pay attention at gas stations... They have some of the funniest ones.

They also like to stick lables upside down on their photographed bottles. It's intention becasue it makes your mind catch on the sign going "Something wrong but i can't figure it out... hrm, funny, i'm thirsty..."

Unintentional, but funny:
