This is relating to the marvel universe. I don't know why, but I've been thinking about it lately...

If a female mutant has a healing factor, is it possable for her to get pregnate? (the human body tries to fight off a pregnancy in the early stages...) And, would her hymen grow back?

I know.. I'm a true geek If I'm gonna think sexually...

I'm sure that some mutants in the marvel universe would probably have that problem.

As far as the hymen question goes, we need stan lee to answer that one, I think.

There was one Marvel comic where Wolverine's former girlfriend (Deathstrike?) was pregnant. I believe that she shared his healing ability in that mythos.

There is a character called X-23 in Marvel comics these days. She's supposed to be a female version of Wolverine. I haven't read her comic, but I doubt the subject has come up.

I think that a mutant healer could still get pregnant, it would just take alot of work, or wolverine's seed, being from him, it would probably be able to counteract the aformentioned resistance.

And if she had her healing power before her first intercourse, I think her hymen would keep repairing itself. Wolverine's hands heal over every time after all.

Here's something to think about though, if Wolverine always had bone claws, than why didn't his mutanogenic phisiological make up compensate a way for them to be unsheathed naturally?

These questions are all answered in Chapter 3 of my book It's a Fucking Comic Book by MechaBlade. Available at bookstores everywhere.

-_-* Out of my geek thread with you!

My favorite use of the healing factor power was when Wolverine guested in the Punisher's comic. The Punisher blew his face off with a shotgun, so he spent most of the story with a metal skull face. Then he shot his package off. "Don't worry. It'll grow back."

Then the Punisher parked a steam-roller on his head. I laughed for days.

Honestly Margery, I tried to teach you how to handle my comic books in the second grade, but oh no, you had to play little league instead. Toucheth not lest ye be touched!

Stan didn't think that far ahead?

The basic answer to all of these questions is similar to te counterfeiter's litany:
What is 2+2?
Well what do you want it to be?

I.e. you can have anything you want in a world where genomics and physics don't count.

So, to answer your question (and I read comics every day, especially Marvel): Yes!

Although I'm pissing over myself to hear they actually use Wolvie's power like I'd imagined it, I've been led to believe that having his face/package shot off would at least hurt him so tremendously that he'd be unable to move for a few days.

The current run of Punisher #16 and #17. Written by Garth Ennis. Whenever Ennis does a comic set in the superhero universe, he disses them so bad it's hysterical. He ridiculed Green Latern unmercifully in Hitman. He did a story where the Punisher fed Bruce Banner stew loaded with C4, then punched him in the stomach and sicced him on Daredevil, Spider-Man and Wolverine. The Hulk tossed Wolverine all the way to another city. Wolverine caught a train back to the fight. The whole way, he kept telling the guy in the seat beside him that he was the Cannuklhead, that he was the best he is at what he does and what he does isn't pretty, blah blah blah. How he was going to go on a berserker rampage when he got back to New York.
"New York?" the fellow says. "This train is going to Pittsburg."
Bwah hah hah hah hah.....

I hate Wolverine.

What do you think of Nightcrawler?

Stop trying to pass Kevin's work off as your own.

I assume the healing factor only works on parts we're supposed to have. I don't know if it would repair parts we're supposed to lose.

Also I don't think the healing factor would interfere with nature's intended purpose for us, that being reproduction.

But the body naturally fights pregnancy.. At least in the first few days... There is so much in the female body fighting the "invading" sperm. Wouldn't this be more in a female mutant with a healing factor?

It only fights off the weak sperm.

the way its explained in marvel comics is that even if two different people have the same power that doesn't mean that power works the same way. for example both nightcrawler and blink have the ability to teleport~but nightcrawlers power is considered physical and blinks is a mental ability so what might work for one character might not work for another.

the way marvel would explain a pregnancy in a character with a healing factor is that healing factor might "shut off" during its abortive stages.

what used to freak me out is how a pregnant shapeshifter would keep her fetus safe while morphing and changing shape all the time.
