August 21, mid day. Cuts a swath across much of the US, including over my house.

I guess I'll be out of tune that day, huh?

People are losing their brains and going silly, paying ridiculous rates for campsites, etc.

we'll get an almost total eclipse here - skies are clear with just a few fluffy white clouds. it was soooo hot out there this morning!

i want to be outdoors when it's at its peak - the sensations are so weird. birds go to bed, the light changes, your skin wakes up to something 'different' and out of the usual. it's easy to understand the feelings of awe and fear, even, people used to experience before they understood the whole shebang.
