President Trump will be re-elected in 2020 and this is why...

TRUMP 2020 going to be a landslide, the
left lost me with open borders and health care for alll

Even worse is the notion of paying off the student loans of those who studied basket weaving and similar useless majors.

I expect The Donald to win quite handily in 2020 also, but probably not by the biggest landslide in history.

President Trump's recent attacks on Democrat Congressman Elijah Cummings and his rat-infested 7th U.S. Congressional District in Baltimore, Maryland is an enormously effective way to draw attention to an ongoing reality:

When you put the Democratic Party in charge of a state, county, city, or congressional district, it goes to hell!

Clearly, President Trump is trying to cut deep into the black vote by laying the blame for urban decay squarely on Democrats, forcing them to defend their record. Blacks are the Democratic Party's political base, and they're also the prime victims as Democrat politicians focus their collective attention instead on saving the earth by banning plastic straws or offering free health care to illegals!

How are Democrats going to defend themselves from this one, when there's no one to blame but themselves? Trump's tactic is particularly ripe for solid-blue, stagnating, & expensive places like California, where already Trump is beginning to go after Nancy Pelosi with his tweets.

Thus far, the Democrats are predictably fighting back by screaming "racism" - it's a tired, weak weapon, grotesquely overused, and unlikely to rally black voters to Democrats. What's more, it can't be employed by Pelosi, who's white. This all shows that Trump not only means to 'win' against his liberal opponents, he intends to annihilate them! Urban decay is the new face of the Democratic Party.

Modern liberal progressives don't want to admit it, but most of them deep down agree that their current Democratic Party presidential field is a clown car filled with clownish politicians. When Joe Biden is considered the closest thing your party has to a wise moderate, you're in trouble. Eight years of Barack Obama in the White House cost his party over a thousand seats at all levels of elected government, and what the Dems are left with today is a pretty thin crop of far-left neo-socialists!

Progressive filmmaker Michael Moore was given 12 minutes of air-time on MSNBC last week to urge former First Lady Michelle Obama to run for president because Moore says he believes that only she can defeat Trump next year - and ALSO because he doesn't see any of the current crop of candidates hacking it! Michelle Obama continues to share her home with Valerie Jarrett, the woman who first introduced her to Barack, and who also ran things while the president was back home watching sports on TV, shooting hoops, and hitting golf balls.

The ONLY way Michelle Obama could be prevailed upon to reluctantly run (presumably as a third term for Valerie and Barack) is if the 2020 Democratic convention deadlocks with no clear winner on the first ballot. At that point, superdelegates would become eligible to vote on the second ballot.

Another possibility should the convention deadlock would be for HILLARY CLINTON to try once again, as she also still has supporters within her party who occasionally still like to boast of her winning the popular vote in 2016. If the current crop of candidates, especially Joe Biden, fails to unite the party, it's easy to imagine Mrs. Clinton stepping in and offering to challenge Trump once again!

Like California?

I don't see people clamoring to move to Kentucky, or Mississippi.

Fattest, poorest, stupidest states in the nation are all run by Rs.

Also, let's compare R George Bush to D Barack Obama.

One blew a huge surplus into another huge deficit through a useless war, crashed the economy, and saw the worst terrorist attack in US history.

The other had 8 straight years of economic growth, peace, no scandals, killed bin laden, brought healthcare to millions, and marriage equality.

The current R is destroying democratic institutions, kidnapping kids and creating concentration camps, blowing up the deficit again, and fostering a huge rise in hate crimes and white supremacy.

FYI, it is Jared Kushner (R) running rat infested apartments IN BALTIMORE.

Delusional comment, as usual, nothing based on facts!

Carnal Flower writes: "I don't see people clamoring to move to Kentucky, or Mississippi."

Look at the Electoral College, Carnal Flower, and notice which states are GROWING in population and which states are SHRINKING. Big liberal blue states are steadily growing SMALLER in electoral votes as people "vote with their feet" - meaning that they move away - and where exactly are they moving to? That would be those RED-STATES where Republicans are in charge!

"FYI, it is Jared Kushner (R) running rat infested apartments IN BALTIMORE."

Now WHY would a member of the Trump family (a family that knows all about real estate values) be purchasing property in rat-&-rodent-infested west Baltimore? Could it be that property values in that sh*thole are probably at rock-bottom? And if those people living there ever get rid of the Democrats running their city those property values can only go UP?

Sorry, Ruben - but both you & Carnal Flower know that he's right! Neither one of you believes that Congressman Elijah Cummings has done a good job for the people of Maryland's 7th U.S. Congressional District, and for him to complain in committee hearings about conditions at border detainment centers in Texas while the people he's supposed to represent live in so much WORSE conditions would be comical if it wasn't so serious!

As if you care for facts. You never complain when your role models spread their lies, and it's not like you provide much content yourself.

It's so delusional it's not worth replying to again. I've stated fact after fact about the banking crisis and its roots and I'm not reposting it. You and Carnal blame it all on bush and that's not accurate. But what's accuracy and fact mean to you and carnal. Laughable, both of you. I never lied to you or anyone else. When Dump, botanyboy or myself disagree with you, it's always a lie. One thing for sure, you're a trigger bomber. I mostly agreed with you on global warming, just not convinced all of what you said was proven without a doubt, so that makes me a liar. Fuck you!

You can't argue or discuss anything with those two clowns. They claim anyone who disagrees with them a racist. Carnal is so fucking ridiculous I'm sorry I even wasted 8 words on his stupid comment. I think I'm on his IGGY because he can't handle a factual argument.

icanhelp1 writes: "You can't argue or discuss anything with those two clowns."

They're angry and they're frustrated. They both see their Democratic Party in shambles, and they're NOT happy about it! Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says the ONLY thing today's Dems can do anymore is to call their opponents "racists," and that won't help them win in 2020! Newt says Democrat candidates use this aggressive, radical language (and childish name-calling) because it fires up their angry base, and because they’ve got nothing left to attack with, except for occasional comments from President Trump that they then distort.

The American economy is in great shape. Unemployment remains incredibly low – historically low for African-Americans and Latinos, in fact. And despite clear hurdles, Republicans have been taking pro-active steps to fix the biggest problems in health care – consistently the No. 1 issue on the minds of Americans.

So the Democrats aggressively call on the radical left’s playbook, not seeming to realize that most of the American people aren’t with them. Liz Warren said this week: "We need to call out white supremacy for what it is – domestic terrorism – and it poses a threat to the United States of America… We live in a country now where the president is advancing environmental racism, economic racism, criminal justice racism, health care racism. The way we do better is to fight back and show something better."

Recall that Liz Warren is a candidate who LIED about her own ethnicity to advance her career. Add to this recent calls by Warren and other Democrats to tax Americans to pay reparations for slavery based on genealogical tests.

It's difficult for Democrats to accept that the report by Special Counsel Robert Mueller failed to hurt President Trump. So now, calling everyone and everything racist gets them applause from diehard audiences and helps the candidates to avoid serious thinking.

Meanwhile the Democrats promote open borders, free health care for people who enter our country illegally, the end of private insurance & choice in health care, and the death of our economy through fanatical environmental regulations. These are the kind of policy-ideas that result in landslides like Nixon-McGovern in 1972! After Richard Nixon won the presidency in 1968, many on the left were convinced that the Democrats needed to go as radically far-left as possible to win back the White House! They then nominated Sen. George McGovern of South Dakota, who was exactly the kind of radical they believed they needed. Nixon ended-up winning 49-states & 60% of the popular vote!

Democrats today are on track to nominate the most radical candidate they can for 2020. For this reason, the big winner of the two nights of Democratic debates this week was President Trump. The potential for a Trump landslide next year is growing by the day.

Ruben’s not even an American citizen, he’s a casualty of TDS. He should pay more attention to Brexit. They don’t have a clue of how the banking crisis happened. The Obama cult followers truly believe he saved the world. Total ignorance.

That sharp left turning being the anti-war movement. As always racist dump is more than happy to send others to die.

It was Kennedy and LBJ who first sent those others to die.

BTW, although I expect Trump to win decisively in 2020, it will not be the greatest landslide in American history. George Washington ran unopposed and got ALL the votes.

Look at the Electoral College, Carnal Flower, and notice which states are GROWING in population and which states are SHRINKING.

Indeed.
The ten fastest growing states according to the Census Bureau:
Nevada
Idaho
Utah
Arizona
Florida
Washington
Colorado
Texas
South Carolina
North Carolina

So, three blue states, four red ones, and three marginal ones.

The eight slowest growing/fastest shrinking states (listed from fastest shrinking to fastest growing):

West Virginia
Illinois
Vermont
Connecticut
Wyoming
Pennsylvania
Mississippi
New York

So, four blue states, three of the reddest states of all, and Pennsylvania. (Notably, one of each - Vermont and Wyoming - can't lose any electoral votes because they already have only three each.)

But don't worry, Dump. I'm sure the source you plagiarised made a wonderful case for why this is all wrong.

Big liberal blue states are steadily growing SMALLER in electoral votes as people "vote with their feet" - meaning that they move away - and where exactly are they moving to? That would be those RED-STATES where Republicans are in charge!

Even if it were that simple, that would just mean those red states were becoming bluer as more Democrats moved there. Which has in fact been happening in some places.

"FYI, it is Jared Kushner (R) running rat infested apartments IN BALTIMORE."

Now WHY would a member of the Trump family (a family that knows all about real estate values) be purchasing property in rat-&-rodent-infested west Baltimore?

Because they have a long history of slum-lording?

It was Kennedy and LBJ who first sent those others to die.

If you're referring to Vietnam, 1) it was actually Eisenhower who sent in the first troops, and 2) JFK and LBJ made the mistake of listening to their secretary of defence, Robert McNamara - who was a Republican.

It's important for you, being part of a group, isn't it? Wearing caps and pins and such, showing you're one of them.

Don't give me that bull shit of belonging to a group, like that's a weakness or something. Being part of a group that believes in our constitution as its written is a pretty large group. The only cap and pin I wore was my military cap and my rank, and I wore it proudly. I don't need a maga hat to show I believe in our constitution. I respect other peoples opinion but have been called everything under the sun for having my own. I don't want my taxes used for abortion ( I'm a Catholic ) and I've been accused of hating women, a nazis and whatever else they can come up with. The extreme left has no respect for anyone else's belief and when they come after me I challenge them. The secular left is expending a lot of energy and rhetoric to abolish freedom of religion in our country, their in for a rude awakening. That fact that you think it's all about caps and pins shows how shallow you are.

That's quite interesting, YDB95 - except what you believe to be Democrat-leaning & purple states is a bit fanciful, to say the least!

****************************************************************************************************

Growing RED states: Idaho (4), Utah (6), Arizona (11), Florida (29), Texas (38), North Carolina (15), & South Carolina (9) - worth a total of 112 electoral votes.

Growing BLUE states: Washington (12) - worth a total of 12 electoral votes.

Growing PURPLE states: Nevada (6), & Colorado (9) - worth a total of 15 electoral votes. (Trump will very likely WIN both Nevada & Colorado in 2020!)

****************************************************************************************************

YDB95 writes: "So, three blue states, four red ones, and three marginal ones."

Make that ONE blue state, SEVEN red, and two purples (e.g. marginal states!)

****************************************************************************************************

Shrinking RED states: West Virginia (5), Wyoming (3), & Mississippi (6) - worth a total of 14 electoral votes.

Shrinking BLUE states: Illinois (20), Vermont (3), Connecticut (7), & New York (29) - worth a total of 59 electoral votes.

Shrinking PURPLE states: Pennsylvania (20) - worth a total of 20 electoral votes. (Trump will almost CERTAINLY win Pennsylvania in 2020)!

****************************************************************************************************

"So, four blue states, three of the reddest states of all, and Pennsylvania. (Notably, one of each - Vermont and Wyoming - can't lose any electoral votes because they already have only three each.)"

Wyoming is growing faster than Vermont. Trump states are growing faster than Hillary states. Republican-run states are growing faster than Democrat-run states!

"...those red states were becoming bluer as more Democrats moved there. Which has in fact been happening in some places."

It's almost as if the liberals have been urinating in their own swimming pools so long that they no longer have any desire to swim there, and so are now looking to find fresh, NEW swimming pools to pee in, isn't it?

Robert Macnamara was a complete piece of shit secretary of defense, and he was most certainly NOT a Republican! - but that's a nice history re-write attempt there! - Ike may have sent some advisors to Vietnam, but that poorly-led war belonged ENTIRELY to Democrat presidents JFK & LBJ, who both greatly escalated it without knowing what the hell they were doing! The so-called "Cold War liberals" were weak & ineffectual, and all they accomplished was turning their own Democratic Party into the modern-day haven it's become for the anti-American, anti-war left!

After his own Democratic Party hounded Lyndon Johnson from office, his party then turned sharply to the left - and by 1972 they were nominating anti-war Senator George McGovern as their presidential candidate. McGovern would win only ONE STATE in that election (Massachusetts), while losing the popular vote by a lopsided margin of 60.67-to-37.52% - and then, twelve years later, ANOTHER liberal Democrat (former V.P. Walter Mondale) would get landslided just as badly, also winning only ONE STATE to lose the Electoral College by an enormously lopsided 525-13!

I disagree Dump. Robert McNamara introduced MAD which kept us out of a full nuclear exchange with the Soviets. Don't think that was such a bad strategy.

Robert Macnamara was a complete piece of shit secretary of defense, and he was most certainly NOT a Republican! - but that's a nice history re-write attempt there!

You might want to rethink that claim before you decide it's your final answer...especially since every bio of McNamara says otherwise. Even his obituaries in 2009 pointed out that fact like this one from the LA Times:

"According to a 1961 entry in Contemporary Biography, McNamara was a registered Republican. He changed his party affiliation to Democrat in 1978, according to public records in the District of Columbia."

Now, before you decide to double down on what you WANT to believe instead of actual history.....

.

McNamara wasn't a military man, just a spread sheeter. He didn't realize that people fighting Imperialism give no fucks for corrupt appointed oligarchs. He failed to give JFK and LBJ rational advice as he was 'just following orders" from the anti-communist right!

The pentagon needed a war to get more generals, "blooded", promoted beyond their competence level then rotated back to the world after six months.

Robert and Lyndon destroyed the Democratic Party thru shear incompetence.

JKendallDane writes: "You might want to rethink that claim before you decide it's your final answer...especially since every bio of McNamara says otherwise."

I stand by my original post. I thought that Robert McNamara SUCKED as a Secretary of Defense, no matter WHAT party he belonged to! And it was two DEMOCRAT presidents, Kennedy & Johnson, who trusted him with our nation's military! That was a STUPID blunder on their part, wasn't it?

"Now, before you decide to double down on what you WANT to believe instead of actual history..."

Do you think that McNamara was a GREAT defense secretary, or do you agree with ME? They also say that Robert Mueller is a Republican, and I ask: "what of it?" - Mueller's efforts to end the Trump presidency early ended in FAILURE, which is all that matters to me!

JackLuis writes: "Robert and Lyndon destroyed the Democratic Party thru shear incompetence."

You're right about that, Jack - and they both allowed that party to be taken over by the hard-left, which ultimately resulted in their losing five-of-the-next-six presidential elections (four of them by lopsided blow-outs!)

That's quite interesting, YDB95 - except what you believe to be Democrat-leaning & purple states is a bit fanciful, to say the least!

The feeling is mutual.

Growing PURPLE states: Nevada (6), & Colorado (9) - worth a total of 15 electoral votes. (Trump will very likely WIN both Nevada & Colorado in 2020!)

Nevada and Colorado have both gone Democratic in the last three elections, by substantial margins. They're blue. Your prediction for 2020 there is nothing but wishful thinking. This time you don't even have anyone else's bullshit to copy and paste here to the contrary.

North Carolina voted for Obama once, Florida twice, and they're both always close. They're purple. Arizona barely voted for Trump and elected its first Democratic senator in 30 years in 2018. It's very much on the table for 2020, especially if the Republicans take it for granted. So you're left with four red states, two of which (Utah and Idaho) have more to do with who lives there already than with migration: Mormons have a lot of kids.

Shrinking PURPLE states: Pennsylvania (20) - worth a total of 20 electoral votes. (Trump will almost CERTAINLY win Pennsylvania in 2020)!

As we saw in 2018, when PA...erm...well...elected a Democratic governor and senator, and flipped four House seats. Sure, Dump, sure.

Wyoming is growing faster than Vermont.

Wrong, and irrelevant even if it were true. Neither state is anywhere near picking up a second House seat.

Even if I agreed with that, it would still mean I was right: some red states are becoming less red as more Democrats move there.

YDB95 writes: "Nevada and Colorado have both gone Democratic in the last three elections, by substantial margins. They're blue."

The percentage received by the Democratic Party's presidential candidates in both Nevada AND Colorado have been steadily shrinking in each of the past three presidential elections (2008-to-2012-to-2016). In Nevada, it's dropped from 55.15 to 52.36 to 47.92%, while in Colorado it's fallen from 53.66 to 51.45 to 48.16 - that DOESN'T bode well for the Democrat candidate in either of those states in 2020!

"North Carolina voted for Obama once, Florida twice, and they're both always close. They're purple. Arizona barely voted for Trump and elected its first Democratic senator in 30 years in 2018."

Okay, first things first: North Carolina, Florida, & Arizona ALL voted for Donald Trump in 2016 - furthermore, in the past ten presidential elections, North Carolina has voted Republican NINE times. Florida has voted Republican SEVEN times. And Arizona has voted Republican NINE times.

"As we saw in 2018, when PA...erm...well...elected a Democratic governor and senator, and flipped four House seats. Sure, Dump, sure."

Pennsylvania's governor & senator won't be on the ballot in 2020. But Trump WILL be, and the people in that state LIKE President Trump!

"Even if I agreed with that, it would still mean I was right: some red states are becoming less red as more Democrats move there."

The bottom line that we can BOTH agree upon is that red-states GROW while blue-states SHRINK. One of the reasons why Trump carried Pennsylvania, Michigan, & Wisconsin could be that Democrats are moving out, but more likely it's because Democrats are abandoning their own party! A LOT of Democrats abandoned their party in 2016 to vote for Trump! It's kind of like all of those Reagan-Democrats who emerged in the 1980's, only NOW we call them "TRUMP-DEMOCRATS!"

That's simply a reflection of the share the Democratic candidate got nationwide in each of those elections. In no way does that prove - or even indicate - that it will continue trending downward next time. And you know it.

"North Carolina voted for Obama once, Florida twice, and they're both always close. They're purple. Arizona barely voted for Trump and elected its first Democratic senator in 30 years in 2018."

That doesn't make them Idaho, Dump. They're trending close (although it is true they didn't use to, but that only proves my point).

Pennsylvania's governor & senator won't be on the ballot in 2020. But Trump WILL be, and the people in that state LIKE President Trump!

Some of them certainly do. But you just got done reeling off the number of times various states voted Republican in past elections. In PA, that would be once in the past seven elections, and by a tiny margin. And a Democratic governor means it'll be at least somewhat harder to suppress the black vote in Philadelphia, just for starters.

"Even if I agreed with that, it would still mean I was right: some red states are becoming less red as more Democrats move there."

The bottom line that we can BOTH agree upon is that red-states GROW while blue-states SHRINK.

No, we can't. You're just claiming that certain fast-growing states are red or at least purple because that's what you want to believe.

One of the reasons why Trump carried Pennsylvania, Michigan, & Wisconsin could be that Democrats are moving out, but more likely it's because Democrats are abandoning their own party!

Possibly, but they're not abandoning it for Trump. In Wisconsin, he actually got slightly fewer votes than Mitt Romney did in 2012. In Pennsylvania, Trump ran up bigger than usual numbers in the very red central part of the state, which is usually outvoted (and likely will be in 2020 if the Dems get the vote out in Philadelphia. In 2018, they did.).

A LOT of Democrats abandoned their party in 2016 to vote for Trump!
Um, no. Mostly they either voted Green or didn't vote at all - in part because most people thought Clinton was sure to win and a lot of us on the left really didn't like her or her husband very much. In Michigan and Pennsylvania, Trump's margin was less than the number of votes for Jill Stein. That is extremely unlikely to happen again in 2020, when no one will be taking anything for granted.

As I see it, those states that went for Trump in 2016 will do so again in 2020, and by bigger margins. Those states that just barely voted for Hillary will also vote for Trump this time. Most likely, the Dem candidate will win in NY and CA and in VT and MA, and maybe a few other states. I expect Trump to carry at least forty states and to win a majority of the pop. vote, and not just a plurality. In 2016, he was a political unknown and generally disliked, but most people will recognize he has done well in office and the majority will vote for him. This is doubly so if the Dems run Bernie or somebody of his ilk.

I am assuming here that Trump will have no serious health problems and there will be no strong third party candidacy as there was in 2016. The latter won't keep him from winning, but it might keep him from receiving a majority of the popular votes. The former could keep him from running.

ETA: Gary Johnson will not be running in 2020, which will be a big help to The Donald.
