2026 - The United States of America is now broke and unable to pay it's bills as all producers have fled the country leaving only the Political Class and the Moocher Class to struggle while clamoring for food and medical care. America has become a barren wasteland of poverty and a dead or dying population ripe for the take over by a now prosperous Chinese Republic a capitalist wonderland of riches and prosperity.

She's missing the crucial steps In her fantasy sequence. You have to get gun control first and then confiscation before you can move onward toward your socialist utopia.

Even with aoc's 70% or even 100% confiscation there isn't enough money amongst the rich to accomplish this fantasy. The bulk of the money has to come from the middle class and you only have two choices to get that money you either have to tax it which they of course are never going to stand for or you have to borrow it which is nothing more than a hidden tax because it's going to cause inflation.

Already the cost of borrowing in very short order based on the latest Republican spending is going to be completely unsustainable we are about to start spending more money on debt service then our military. This is the road to ruin. To think you can substantially add to that is insane because no one's going to buy the bonds. If no one buys the bonds you can't pay anyone for your pipe dream.

The only way to raise the money that she's talking about is to nationalize Industries which would give you a short-term bump in revenue until of course productivity declined to the point that you are Venezuela.

She's talking about a revolution. You do know that there are such a thing as armed revolutions, right? When the masses feel that they are so oppressed that they refuse to submit to the authority of government? It's an actual thing; it happens.

I don't know if they still teach this historical event in school anymore, but we had this thing called the American Revolution...(ot involved guns.) After they won, they made sure the citizens still had them in case it was necessary to do it again.

Greece is Greece because they kept raising taxes to pay for more and more largesse from the government but the problem is they weren't actually collecting the taxes because the grecians simply said fuck you I'm not paying I'm going to go do something that doesn't involve reportable income. The only reason they're not Venezuela is because they also aren't unarmed and the EU has continually bail them out.

Venezuelans don't have guns.

Neither did the Soviets or the Chinese.

OP is talking about a gradual change through long-term slow-burn political goals. We could redistribute stuff and have fully-funded national healthcare NOW without upping taxes, I've explained how several times and I'm not gonna go into it again because a lot of us are kinda getting logged down by the dumbassery on this board.

No, it was not for that purpose; it was so that there would be enough men with muskets at home to support a militia-based defense system, the FFs having a deep-seated fear of standing armies, which in Europe were used as instruments of domestic rule. The Constitution expressly authorizes the president to command the militia -- it was always seen as an arm of the state, not a countervailing force against the state.

That's why it's a fantasy. You can't just simply boil the Frog by slowly turning up the heat. We already are on 11 on the stove we've already borrowed pretty much all we can borrow and she's talking about adding a huge entitlement program which we have no money for. Again the only way you can get that money so that you can write the checks to the hospitals, the drug companies and the doctors is to tax it specifically from the middle class who will actually revolt not pretend revolt or you can try to borrow it but as I've already explained you can't borrow it. That's why this is not possible.

Nobody has tried taking their money yet. That's why we're 20 trillion dollars in debt. If anyone would actually try to to pay as we go and taking that money from the middle class as these various programs were enacted they would have been rose up and insisted on austerity a very long time ago.
