So, these Latino children and Latino infants that Trump locked up in cages are sleeping on cement floors, being denied adequate food, hygiene, water and medical care. Infants are being denied diapers and the overcrowding situation in these prisons is inhumane. Several children have died already and others have been sexually molested by the staff.

Republicans dismiss all of this as unimportant.

What if these were little blonde, blue-eyed children? Do you think the Republicans would be so dismissive then?

Children as young as 7 and 8, many of them wearing clothes caked with snot and tears, are caring for infants they’ve just met, the lawyers said. Toddlers without diapers are relieving themselves in their pants. Teenage mothers are wearing clothes stained with breast milk.

Most of the young detainees have not been able to shower or wash their clothes since they arrived at the facility, those who visited said. They have no access to toothbrushes, toothpaste or soap.

“There is a stench,” said Elora Mukherjee, director of the Immigrants’ Rights Clinic at Columbia Law School, one of the lawyers who visited the facility. “The overwhelming majority of children have not bathed since they crossed the border.”

The reports of unsafe and unsanitary conditions at Clint and elsewhere came days after government lawyers in court argued that they should not have to provide soap or toothbrushes to children in federal immigration custody.

The Justice Department’s lawyer, Sarah Fabian, argued that there was nothing in writing specifying a legal obligation for the federal government to supply hygienic items and that, therefore, the government would not do so.

If the Trump admin installed showers at the camps, do you think anyone would want to use them?

I am sorry, what did Obama or Bush or Clinton do about this? They kicked the can down the road and now it's Trumps fault?

Bullshit.

Congress kicked the can, place the blame on those who did the deeds. Rethuglicans had control of Congress for two goddamned years and did NOTHING!

Trump is just advancing the issue hoping that someone will "think of the children" and remove his fucking ass!

Make no mistake, there is nothing that Congress is doing or not doing that compels the administration to have facilities where children don't have blankets or toothbrushes or soap," Congressman Schiff explained, "and for the vice president or the president to blame Congress for their own malfeasance is just completely beside the point and unethical and unacceptable."

"They could cure this problem today," Schiff continued, "but they don't want to because frankly, the cruelty is part of their policy."

The congressman said that the Trump administration believes its hardline approach will deter migrants from coming to the country while also pushing Congress to build a wall on the southern border with Mexico.

"To use these children, that is– I just think immoral," he asserted.

Last Tuesday, an attorney representing Trump's Justice Department argued in court that ensuring migrant children were provided "safe and sanitary" conditions did not mean they necessarily should receive toothbrushes, soap, blankets and other essentials. The judges hearing the arguments were taken aback by the remarks.

"If you don't have a toothbrush, if you don't have soap, if you don't have a blanket, it's not safe and sanitary," Senior U.S. Circuit Judge A. Wallace Tashima responded. "Wouldn't everybody agree to that?"

Border Patrol blocking Americans from donating toothbrushes and diapers for detained children

The less-than-ideal living conditions have been described in great detail over the past few weeks. Last week, an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice argued in court that the government shouldn’t be required to give migrant children inside Border Patrol detention facilities toothbrushes, soap, towels or showers.

Most have assigned blame for the substandard living conditions to federal officials who are unsure of how to handle the influx of migrants arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border. The surge has also overwhelmed facilities and led to serious health and safety risks for those sheltered in them. Some kids and teens have spent nearly a month without adequate food or water. Nearly a dozen others in a McAllen facilitywere sick with the flu.

HHS needs to help out here. The health contagions will only spread in these inhumane conditions.

So, what you're saying is that the democratic house bears no responsibility for what going on at the border? You're putting all your faith in what Adam Schiff said, a bona fide Trump hater. Obama's border agents operated in much the same SOP, like Trump, they didn't have a choice, they were over run just like today. You're very misinformed, but you go ahead and believe the bullshit. The left can't hide from their sins. Biden was complicit in Obama's border control and the left is slowly being exposed for what they are and what they did back in his VP days. The american people aren't stupid. 2020 is coming and Nancy's days are numbered, Joe Biden is dead man walking.

Yeah, it’s the fault of Congress for giving the CBP too much money, and inviting corruption. And it’s the fault of Congress that Trump hasn’t been impeached yet.

And yet their living conditions are ten times better than where they came from. All the more reason to send them back. They came here looking for a better life and they have it. It's just not better enough. Right?

In the past 40 days, the U.S. government under the Trump administration has rounded up and jailed 60,000 migrant children.

They’ve left kids in cars for 39 hours. They’ve had a lawyer argue that they’re not responsible for providing these kids and their families with soap and toothbrushes to maintain basic health and hygiene while packed like sardines in cages, tent cities, and prisons.

They’re forcing people to sleep on cold concrete without blankets.

They’re failing to provide people with ample food, water, and medical care.

Multiple infants, children, and adults have died.

Trump is committing mass child neglect and human rights abuses at this very moment, and the atrocities at the border are only getting worse. A doctor called these places “torture camps.” Historical experts and many in both the Jewish and Japanese American communities have agreed they are, by definition, concentration camps.

And this administration thinks that all of this is okay. They don’t see anything wrong with what they’re doing.

These for-profit concentration camps charge us, the taxpayers, $750 per day, per child.

It costs $22,000 to detain ONE CHILD for ONE MONTH and they're not even provided soap, toothbrushes or beds!

Everyone that voted for that piece of shit already knew what they were about and wanted to see happen, bruh. ;)

How so?

They were sleeping on cold concrete with lights on 24/7? No diapers? No soap? Frozen burritos every single night?

They're mostly fleeing violence, not lack of soap.

In terms of "living conditions" they are WORSE off here--that's the point of "deterence."

You're one sick twisted fuck.

And yet their living conditions are ten times better than where they came from. All the more reason to send them back. They came here looking for a better life and they have it. It's just not better enough. Right?

So, what you're saying is that the democratic house bears no responsibility for what going on at the border?

Yes, the Democrats bear no responsibility for this. It's the GOP that's actively working to continue this and the Republicans can't stop fucking it up. Even back in 2013 you had the AstroTurf Tea Party fools coming out against the Republican's own bill.

The GOP has proven, time and again, that it doesn't care about the suffering of society's most vulnerable groups.

This is squarely on the hands of the Democrats. They are wasting time chasing Robert Mueller(who's turning out to be a hypocritical asshole), while they refuse to deal with the crisis at our southern border. They need to work with President Trump on a solution. But, they don't want a solution. They want turmoild and they don't care who gets hurt. The Democrats are cruel and heartless. Stop encouraging illegal immigration. You won't provide for these people and they are suffering and dying because of you.

I agree. The solution is to get Trump out of office.

Bullshit to you. What's happening now--imposing concentration camp tactics as a disincentive--is all on the criminal, corrupt, treasonous Donald Trump--and now on you. You have no human decency. You are a sleazy worm.

Interesting the USA spends 3 billion on homelessness of 2.5 million children who are citizens and Congreve just approved a 4.5 billion immigration package..say what?

Who told you "Congreve" (sic) has approved an immigration package?

There are more pockets to line in the latter case.

Who told you "Congreve" (sic) has approved an immigration package?

The House passed a package, Trump said he wouldn't sign it, the Senate refused to pass it, said they would come up with their own package. Meanwhile, nothing changes.
