As a young man with a reasonably strong sex drive, I occasionally indulge in watching a bit of pornography. I do this fully aware of the myriad shortcomings of porn because, lets face it, when it comes to illustrating sex, porn is clearly massively flawed, ridiculously unrealistic and grossly superficial. Hence why I often come here instead, to read.

However, there is one thing about the majority of porn films that really winds me up more than anything else. It's something that happens very frequently and I don't understand why it should be.

What irks me more than anything is when a dude in a porn film chooses to finish himself off instead of letting the girl do it. I mean what the fuck is that all about? I'm not sure that's the only reason because you also see it happening even when there is no actual fucking (ie. blowjobs & handjobs etc). If porn producers want to make sure they get the 'money shot' all you need is for the guy to pull out when he's ready (they ought to be able to manage that) but the girl can still do the finishing.

I think Screwher is right about the money shot. It's probably safe to assume that a powerful visible ejaculation is considered profitable, since it is so common.

I imagine the industry has done some sort of market research to determine that facials are preferred over other locations. The psychology probably has something to do with dominance.

Now why it's the guy finishing himself off instead of the girl finishing him off is another question.

If I had to guess, I would say that when a guy does it himself, he has more control to get his hand and fingers out of the way at the crucial moment, ensuring the most spectacular ejaculation possible. I think you're probably right in terms of that's why the producers do it. But for me, the guy taking over the job spoils the moment. The other thing about this is the way it looks for the girl.
