Five blades give no closer shave than 2. 2 is nice, backsup the first. When first gets dull as it is the one to contact hairs first, the whole thing is done. 2 blades. 3, 4 or 5. If you could use it upside down or move blades around. I use 2 blade cheap Bics. I get 3 shaves from one. I also generally don't shave often. Once a week. I shave for a date, my mum and business meetings. I use a home haircutting trimmer to trim growth close then shave. Packet of 12 dual blade Bics less than 20$ last 3 months. My hair is mostly dark yet my beard mostly grey, so I shave.
