I think my heart is broken, but Garnate's advice thread won't work for me because I don't want a replacement, I just want to feel unbroken again. Any advice?

That's why one makes one's family thoroughly aware of the existence of an Advance Directive and makes its intent quite clear. That increases the likelihood that its intent will be observed.

Like so much of life, it is a good idea to assume that some permutation of Murphy's Law will apply. Plan accordingly.

try drugs. they want actually solve any of your problems or anything, but if you take enough of them you won't care about them anymore.

Thank you. The pain is lot less sharp than it was and a bit a different.

I do have some major problems that I am working on solving like insurance, but I think the big difference is there is nothing I can do regarding Byron to make things better or change the outcome.

Actually, that was the only way I could slow my thoughts down enough to sleep, by taking ambein. It doesn't seem to actually make me sleep, but it gives me amnesia for a bit.

I didn't think of taking it until about a month ago, probably should have done it the first few weeks and not gotten so sleep deprived.

I take about 1/4 tablet, if I wake up after a few hours I drink cherry juice. It's a lot better than it was a couple months ago, I am starting to feel more human or something.
 
No, actually I support people's right to make personal choices without the government telling them what to do - something that someone who prattles on about The Individual and The Man and such nonstop should theoretically understand, but someone (that's you) doesn't get because at the end of the day should the government were to go in full-on fascist military enforcing of values (that would be yours, of course), you would be pleased as punch so long as you didn't have to pay any taxes.

OK true story: I once rescued two kittens of two different ages, both abandoned by their moms. I was weaning them from bottle to solid food. The older one - the male (the younger one was a girl) - was not ready for weaning and would not stop sucking on the littler one's, um, place where she pees (urethral opening, I guess?) I had to actually split them up because it was hurting the little one. Asked my vet about it (hard to explain that sort of thing) and she said that was not uncommon with kitts who are weaned too early.
 
I hope that didn't come across wrong. I meant it. Losing someone you love is hard, and while I know there's nothing we can do to fix it, I'd like to. Time heals, but never fully.

Scorpion. This one was smaller than the last one that stung me.

Barely saw the movement headed strait for my bare foot.

Shouldn't have killed the "wind scorpion" last month. Bad karma and I could use a guard-insect.
