OOC: Sci-Fi - Doctor Who / Torchwood

I'm interested in writing a Doctor Who / Torchwood inspired tale.
I'm looking for plot and action as well as writing an adult tale.

Willing to write Jack and/or Doctor or open to variations on the theme.

Timeline wise I'm thinking that the time AFTER The Runaway Bride encounter with Donna, but before he meets up with Martha might be interesting. (ie. David T’s Doctor)

Torchwood wise - the earlier the better. Though flexible, I'm definitely not looking to write anything based on the Americanised travesty that recently aired!

Sample opener - The Doctor


The Arrival:

The Doctor flew around the Console pressing buttons, flicking switches and checking monitors, but as ever it seemed that the TARDIS had a mind of her own.

“No... nooooo... Noooo!”

Despite his protests, the power surged and all The Doctor could do was hang on tightly as he was thrown sideways as the TARDIS started a hurtled descent downwards. Accelerating impossibly the TARDIS spun out of control until with a CRASH and a shudder and with enough force to throw The Doctor to the floor the TARDIS came to an abrupt halt.

All was silent!

Standing slowly, the Doctor brushed himself down and tentatively pressed buttons als though to assure himself that the machine was at a total standstill.

”So, now where’ve you brought me ... ?”

The Doctor murmured, with grumpy curiosity.

Since being companionless The Doctor tended to protest less when the TARDIS decided to overrule his settings and took him elsewhere. Besides, it usually turned out that he ended up where he needed to be. However, there was something strange about this landing. It was as if something had attracted the TARDIS almost as a magnet might draw filings to itself?

Picking up his long brown coat and shrugging it on, The Doctor made his way slowly to the door; a brief check he told himself and then he would decide whether to stay around and if so, for how long.

The door swung open smoothly and the Doctor stuck his head out...

Jack slid out of the back seat of the big truck. He had let Iano drive and Gwen take the lead. He watched as she slid out of the front seat and strode confidently towards the body, unable to prevent the grin of amusement as he watched her demanding answers from poor Ianto.

A quick glance around made it unlikely that the perpetrators were still around, even so various epoques of miltary service had drilled in certain principes:
” ... proceed with care...” and ”... know your enemy...”

Even though Jack had made sure he hung back he missed nothing. This was HIS team, built up with care and each one skilled in their own field. He was proud of them, of their ability to adapt and cope with any situation and they could cope without him, should he need to... disappear ... suddenly, but ...

His face broke into a grin.

Why function at anything less that maximum whilst he was still in command.

Stepping forward, Jack effortlessly took over:

”Ok ... let’s do this ... Tosh run the details of the attack through the progarmme and see if you can find any correlations ... similar scenarios, death or injury in similar circumstances ... and go beyond the police records ... go deep ...
Owen ... samples ... you know the procedure ... foreign DNA tagging has to be our focus ....
Gwen ... usual scene scan, make sure we have all the information we need then call in the regular guys.
But meanwhile, we don’t want them all over this place UNTIL we have all we need.
Ianto, start making arrangements to prep to morgue. We need to take this body with us.
We’ll let the police record the death, for appearance sake.
But then I want this investigation to be high priority code TORCHWOOD.”

Each one moved swiftly to follow his instructions.
Yup ... they were HIS alright; his team, every last one of them!

Thanks for the interest so far ... still no decisions made re: story lines...

I can't believe there aren't any wanna-be-doctor's-assistants out there, or players to people the TORCHWOOD team or to associate with Captain Jack?

Wondering if there's any real brave girl out there who might want to take on The Doctor and Jack?.... or variations on the theme... the consumate 3-some...?

Let me know if you have any more ideas, no matter how ... different...?
