This thread takes place just moments after Kara Zor-El has escaped her space pod, crashing in Gotham. If interested in joining please post a character bio here.

:rose:

Kara Zor-El was sent to the planet Earth to watch over her younger cousin Kal-El, ensuring that his destiny to become its greatest protector would not be altered. As fate would have it, however, the ship in which she traveled to Earth was caught in a large green kryptonite meteorite and held her in a state of suspended animation for an extended period of time, preventing her from landing on Earth for a long time.

While Kara remained in suspended animation, Kal-El grew up in the town of Smallville as Clark Kent, later moving to the neighboring city of Metropolis where he became the hero known as Superman, the Man of Steel and the Last Son of Krypton.

Eventually Kara's ship made it to Earth, crashing into Gotham Bay. It was there that the young Krytponian escaped from her pod, and she has currently been walking around the dark streets of Gotham City... alone.

Name: Kara Zor-El
Age: 16 1/2
Race: Kryptonian
Height: 5'9"
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Blue

Personality:
Alone and confused, Kara comes off as a bit timid and unsure of herself, yet desperate to prove that she is capable of handling whatever comes her way. Above all else she seeks to gain acceptance with her peers, most notably her cousin, Superman.

Abilities:
Like all Kryptonians under a yellow sun, Kara Zor-El possesses vast super strength, speed & stamina; various extra sensory and vision powers (including super hearing, x-ray vision, telescopic vision, microscopic vision, and heat vision); tremendous lung capacity and super breath; invulnerability and flight.

Continued exposure to a yellow sun will cause the level of her abilities to slowly increase.

(Quick) Biography:
Kara Zor-El was born as the daughter of Zor-El and his wife Alura, and therefore the cousin of Kal-El, or Superman. Though raised in Argo City, Kara spent the last remaining days with her aunt Lara and her uncle Jor-El, watching over her baby cousin.

Before Krypton exploded, Kara was sent in a spaceship to follow her cousin to Earth. At some point her ship became lodged in a meteor rock, and she was held in a state of suspended animation for an extended period of time, preventing her from landing on Earth right after her cousin.

While Clark grew up to become the hero known as Superman, Kara was still asleep in her ship, unaware of the changes that had occurred.

A short while ago her ship finally landed on Earth, crashing into Gotham Bay

I know you need a Batman, still.

But could I be Wonder Woman?

It's been ages since I was last Wonder Woman.

Name: Diana of Themyscira
Age: 32
Race: Amazonian
Height: 5'11"
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue

Personality:
Diana is as multifaceted as her mission demands. She is a warrior who enforces peace, a worshiper who has touched and been touched by gods and who yet preaches tolerance across all boundaries of faith, she is hard like steel and soft like satin and wise as mountains and furious as fire.

All she asks for is Truth, and she demands this of herself most of all. Being True to yourself and with yourself can be a harder battle than any fought with sword or lance.

Abilities:
From Demeter, she gains impossible stamina and strength, perhaps on a par with The Kryptonian himself (and therefore with his cousin), though her not-inconsiderable invulnerability may not meet that measure. From Artemis, she gains skill as a tracker and heightened senses and the ability to converse with all manner of beast. From Hermes, she gains speed and the ability to fly. From Athena, she gains wisdom, both wisdom of the heart and wisdom of the mind, spirit and science hand in hand. From Aphrodite, she gains boundless beauty and a heart that knows love.

Once, having passed beyond this mortal frame, she herself was The Goddess of Truth, but she has returned to life to continue the work left undone.

The scope of her abilities has been seen to wax and to wane, and it has been theorised that perhaps this has to do with the changing moods and whims of the gods and goddesses from whom she derives these powers. Also, the powers of these gods and goddesses have been seen to be dependent on the worship of mortals, and thus as this worship ebbs and flows so too might Diana's might.

Even at her lowest ebb, Diana is a match for very nearly any foe.

Her weapons include bracelets forged from Zeus' Aegis, indestructible artefacts most famous for deflecting bullets and arrows and energy bolts with equal facility. Her Lasso of Truth burns with The Fires of Hestia, and its many remarkable abilities include the compulsion of Truth from those within its coils. Her tiara, generally regarded as a badge of office, can be improvised into a throwing weapon which is said to be capable of slicing through diamond.

Diana is an expert at myriad forms of martial combat, and at fighting barehanded.

She speaks many languages.

(Quick) Biography:
Childless and brokenhearted, Queen Hippolyte of The Amazons shaped a baby girl out of clay and beseeched the gods to give her life. They did so, and gave her life more abundant, blessing her with vast and glorious abilities all wrapped around a heart of gold.

Now a grown woman, Diana, princess daughter of The Amazon Queen, strives to bring The Amazons' message to the darksome world outside her idyllic island upbringing, a complex code of peace and warfare and unapologetic love and righteous indignation. This is no easy task.

She has sought friendship and co-operation with the other heroes of this world, and of these she respects The Icon and The Detective most of all.

Okay. So.

Now I have self-doubt.

If you guys can't tackle characters like this, what hope do I have of portraying The Amazon Princess?

:: fretfretfret ::

Oh, it's all hubris and nonsense...

easily

you are a excellent writer

(I secretly suspect your a published author doing this for fun)

& I'm in, will be writing up a bio & postiong it today

:p

:p

Sara Pezzini busts out of her outfits all the time when deploying her witchy blades, but I still think Wondy beats her in the name-recognition department.

Also, Cutey Honey. Wonder Woman still beats Cutey Honey as far as famousosity, and Cutey Honey holds the patent on the nekkid transformation sequence.

:: winks, teasing :: You'll have to be a little more progressive, Testosterone Boy, if you wanna get that far onto this Diana's good side.

The Last Daughter of Britain

http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l325/chasnicollette/jenny-sparks1.jpg

Name: Rose Mary McCrimmon
Age: 20
Race: Human (Metagene-active)
Height: 5'5"
Hair: Brown (dyed Reddish-Blonde)
Eyes: Blue

Personality:
If Diana of Themysicra is a study in multiple facets, then Rose McCrimmon is a study in dichotomy. Her natural aspiration is optimism, but one of her greatest influences has been a celebrated cynic and often she finds herself trapped between these two worldviews.

She sees the good in individuals, but her view of humanity as a whole is somewhat dim. She adores light and magic and hope and music, but has been downtrodden often enough that sometimes she catches herself mired in murk and materialism and pessimism and silence.

Abilities:
Moderately enhanced overall physique including low level superathletic abilities (chasing down cars on foot, bending metal bars with effort, sharpened senses), hardy metabolism, and decent injury resistance; Pyrokinesis (Capable of emitting extremely high temperature heat and flame (accompanied by auras of molten golden light)); Cryokinesis (Capable of lowering temperatures drastically to below-freezing levels (accompanied by auras of blue-white lightning) and simultaneously telekinetically manipulating water molecules in the air to create physical ice); Immune to extremes in temperature, while at the same time very much attuned to changes in such temperatures thanks to her enhanced senses; Capable of adjusting her vision to see in the infrared spectrum; Capable of detecting trace amounts of water molecules in the air around her; Unassisted Flight

Rose is immensely knowledgeable about scientific matters and has a modicum of training in the detection and exploitation of the magical arts. She is a gifted hand-to-hand combatant and knows a handful of languages. Forensic criminology is a hobby of hers.

She loves music, and quotes lyrics frequently, but she's sadly limited in musical ability.

(Quick) Biography:
Rose McCrimmon is the daughter of once-famed British martial artist/investigator Ceri McCrimmon; she never knew her father, but she knows he was a man of science, and that his experiments with cryogenics and solar fusion may have inadvertently triggered her metagene while she was in the womb.

Once Rose turned sixteen, her mother took monastic orders and sequestered herself away in Nanda Parbat, leaving Rose to the care of her ersatz "Uncle" John Constantine and his on-again, off-again girlfriend Zatanna Zatara. Thus introduced to the superheroic community, "Valkyrie M" now works as an intern at The Themysciran Embassy in The City of New York, reporting directly to Ambassador Diana. She one day hopes to join The Justice League, but harbours doubts that she'll ever be more than a reserve member thereof.

( OOC: I hope this is okay? XD ...if not, I can totally take this back down. )
