Democratic Primary Fucktussle!

SEVERUSMAX writes: "Not calling them bad people. Just saying that their Presidential hopes have already been dashed and they can't accept it."

KeithD writes: "Their vice presidential hopes aren't dashed yet, which may keep some of them around a bit longer."

SEVERUSMAX responds: "That may well be what's keeping them going."

There's nothing wrong with running a terrible presidential campaign - as Joe Biden did exactly that in 1988, and again in 2008, and he STILL got to be Barack Obama's running mate, twice! The truth is, with the exception of Sleepy-Creepy Joe, Liz, & Bernie, NONE of those other candidates has EVER had much of a chance of winning the 2020 Democratic Party's presidential nomination - with the possible exception of Kamala Harris, who fizzled-out surprisingly early!

I'm guessing that they'll all continue running until the money runs out! Somebody is continuing to fund of of these candidates for reasons we may never understand.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/ - New numbers from the RealClearPolitics.com national polling averages show "Gropin' Joe" maintaining his lead...

30.2 - Joe Biden - (None of the other Dems are going to stop Creepy-Sleepy Joe!)

19.8 - Elizabeth Warren - (Senator Pocahontas can't seem to get any traction!)

16.6 - Bernie Sanders - (The old white socialist appears to have peeked in popularity!)

6.2 - Pete Buttigieg - (I still say that Mayor Pete is lobbying for a cabinet post in the mythical "Biden administration!")

6.0 - Kamala Harris - (How long before even "Beto" catches up to and passes Kamala?)

3.2 - Francis O'Rourke - (I can't believe that this guy STILL has supporters!)

3.0 - Andrew Yang - (This is another guy that I can't believe has actual supporters!)

The rest of the pack continues to slowly drift away as their campaign coffers begin to dry-up, and they acknowledge that they never really had a chance.

I would given more creedence to recent polls in Iowa, California, and New Hampshire, which show Sanders rising, Biden flagging, and Tulsi in the second rather than third tier. She's fourth in New Hampshire, sixth in Iowa. Kamala is still in free fall, losing out to Yang in her home state.

As these are early primary/caucus states, they will have far more impact on the primary process than any national polls could.

Elizabeth Warren surges ahead of Joe Biden in new Des Moines Register poll of the Iowa Caucuses

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has surged to first place among likely Iowa Caucus-goes, according to a new poll released Saturday night by CNN and the Des Moines Register.

The poll showed Warren at 22%, followed by former Vice President Joe Biden at 20%.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is at 11%, South Bend Mayor Pete Buggigieg is at 9% and Sen. Kamala Harris is at 6%.

OHJ is loosing some of his name recognition edge as people learn about Liz.:)

Cory Booker’s Campaign Issues Dire Warning About His Presidential Run

In a memo and call with reporters on Saturday, the senator’s campaign manager said the campaign needs to raise $1.7 million by the end of the month.

Sen. Cory Booker’s (D-NJ) campaign made it plain and simple on Saturday: if they don’t raise another $1.7 million by Sept. 30, they don’t see a “legitimate long-term path forward” to compete for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.

Booker’s campaign manager Addisu Demissie wrote in a memo on Saturday morning, first reported by NBC News, that, “Without a fundraising surge to close out this quarter, we do not see a legitimate long-term path forward.”

Thinning of the herd continues.

You may both be right - but Joe controls the levers of power within the Democratic Party, much like Mrs. Clinton did in 2016. It's why he will win a majority of the delegates by the time the 2020 convention rolls around. And NO, Bernie and his supporters will NOT be happy about being eliminated a second time in this way! It might get ugly!

I'm not sure that OHJ has control of the DNC, or that the DNC is in control anymore. After Princess Hillary lost to an Orange Shit Talker, how much do they think of their ability to control anything?

Demonrats in disarray is a constant.

As much as that party does NOT want "Gropin' Joe" Biden to be its 2020 candidate, they can't escape his continuing to lead in the RealClearPolitics.com national-averaging of the polls! - https://www.realclearpolitics.com

30.3 - Joe Biden - (JKendallDane especially despises Creepy-sleepy Joe for his past plagiarism!)

18.8 - Elizabeth Warren - (Liz has her own growing credibility problems!)

16.5 - Bernie Sanders - (Bernie's core of loyal followers is NOT growing!)

6.0 - Pete Buttigieg - (Mayor Pete also has his small group of devoted fans that stays the same size!)

5.8 - Kamala Harris - (Aside from Barack & Michelle Obama, hardly any Democrats support this woman!)

3.3 - Francis O'Rourke - ("Beto" is just another angry Democrat promising to take away your guns!)

2.8 - Andrew Yang - (Just another angry Democrat who would like to take away your car & air-conditioner!)

If this is the best they've got, then the Democratic Party is doing everything that it possibly can to inadvertently guarantee that President Trump is re-elected next year!

If all but 1 progressive, Sandaz or Warren were to leave, the progressives would crush Biden.

Let's hope they figure it out so that one can be nominated, I would hate to see the (D)'s have any chance at beating Trump.

Some~body's fishin' :D

You really need to improve your bait selections if that's the best trolling you can do, Dump. But I'll make your bobber move so you can keep your line in the water.

I've known Joe Biden since February of 1974 just as he was starting his second year as a Senator. Got to hear him speak about his philosophy of government, how his position related to it, and some of his legislative goals and aspirations along with his views of the exploding Watergate scandal.

Then I, and about a half dozen or so other high school and college students at the week-long government studies program we were attending in DC, got to spend another hour or so with him in one-on-one conversation. I've closely watched his career ever since.

You don't have the first clue of what my opinion of Joe Biden is. So...no big prize package for you today, but as a departing contestant, you can have this home version of "Fishin' For Clues" as a consolation prize. :D

You really, REALLY hate plagiarism, Jay-Kendall! Joe Biden's 1988 presidential run was de-railed after he was hit with charges of plagiarizing the speeches of other political candidates! You've NEVER really forgiven him for that, have you?

"I've known Joe Biden since February of 1974 just as he was starting his second year as a Senator. Got to hear him speak about his philosophy of government, how his position related to it, and some of his legislative goals and aspirations along with his views of the exploding Watergate scandal."

Senator Biden had his OWN mini-version of the Watergate scandal in 1987, when it was discovered that the guy was a plagiarist (which you REALLY hate), ending his first presidential campaign after only four months! He wouldn't try again until twenty years later!

"Then I, and about a half dozen or so other high school and college students at the week-long government studies program we were attending in DC, got to spend another hour or so with him in one-on-one conversation. I've closely watched his career ever since."

After PLAGIARISM ended his first presidential run, Senator Biden tried AGAIN in 2008, but his candidacy died after a 5th-place showing in the Iowa caucuses, in which he finished with only one-percent support. But his earlier calling follow-senator Barack Obama "clean & articulate" on the campaign trail would pay off handsomely, as Obama would then pick Biden as his running-mate!

"You don't have the first clue of what my opinion of Joe Biden is. So... no big prize package for you today, but as a departing contestant, you can have this home version of "Fishin' For Clues" as a consolation prize."

Here's what I DO KNOW, Jay-Kendall - you HATE plagiarism with a passion, and Joe Biden is an acknowledged plagiarist. While you'll keep your hatred of him on the down-low, it's there nonetheless. You are HORRIFIED at the prospect that a plagiarist might actually be the 2020 Democratic Party nominee, and if that happens you may instead cast your vote for Third Party candidate Bernie Sanders! Those are the FACTS!

He's also delusional enough to think that a progressive would lose against Trump. A phony progressive with too many "woke liberal" tendencies, that's possible, but even those might have a chance with the Cheeto imploding so quickly now. A real economic populist (not a phony like Trump), appealing to those left behind by crony capitalism, watch out....Wall Street would have a target on its back and the Dem would win in a landslide. After all, there's no middle class anymore, just angry and disgruntled proletarians nowadays.

A candidate who meets his definition of "progressive" probably would lose, but there's no one like that actually running. Remember, the crazy right believe their own propaganda far too much.

True, he thinks that Bernie is an outright Communist. From what I've seen, the man morphed from a Marxist (not a Leninist) to a non-Marxian social democrat.

If you haven't noticed, Dump, I really have a thing for analogies, metaphors, similes, and snark. Lemme toss off a little analogy as my answer to ^^that mess^^ you spewed out at me ^^up there.^^

I have nine cats. I live in Florida. We have these things called "palmetto bugs" that occasionally make their way inside your home.

My cats love 'em at first. They consider it great fun to chase and catch and bat them around. They aren't at all tasty though, so after the first couple of tries at eating them, they become mere play things for the kitties. Sometimes they'll kill them, but more oft than not, they end up on their backs with their legs flailing at the sky. They're kinda like turtles once they end up on their backs.

Now that is also great fun for the kitties...for about five seconds...then they get bored and either pop them across the floor or off whatever they had been crawling around on top of, and just walk away rather than continue to torture them with their little legs just thrashing about in the air.

See, Dump, you're kinda like a palmetto bug when you writhe and wiggle and thrash and flail like that post ^^up there^^ and quite frankly, I get bored with all the squirming and twisting and contortions and sometimes just walk away like my cats do.

So consider this non-response as my response to all those keystrokes you wasted trying to "score points and own" this lib and just be happy I didn't decide to pop you across the floor and underneath the refrigerator first. :D

YDB95 writes: "Remember, the crazy right believe their own propaganda far too much."

Believing "their own propaganda far too much" - I like that, YDB95! I clearly remember back in September of 1983, when polls showed former Vice President Walter Mondale leading incumbent President Ronald Reagan. The Democrats back then believed "their own propaganda far too much!" One year later, in November of 1984, Reagan landslided Mondale in the biggest electoral blow-out in U.S. history!

SEVERUSMAX writes (about Bernie Sanders): "True, he thinks that Bernie is an outright Communist. From what I've seen, the man morphed from a Marxist (not a Leninist) to a non-Marxian social democrat."

If the Democrats were ever foolish enough to nominate an old white Marxist-turned-Socialist-Democrat they'd lose even bigger than Mondale did in '84, but that's not going to happen. Joe Biden holds all of the levers of power in his party (exactly like Hillary Clinton did in 2016!)

JKendallDane writes: "If you haven't noticed, Dump, I really have a thing for analogies, metaphors, similes, and snark."

Yes, I HAVE noticed that, Jay-Kendall - in fact, that's one of the very FIRST things I noticed about you! By the way, new RealClearPolitics.com numbers have been released, averaging out all of the national polls:

29.6% - Joe Biden - (Creepy-Sleepy Joe hangs onto his overall lead!)

19.7 - Elizabeth Warren - (Senator Pocahontas remains in 2nd-place!)

17.1 - Bernie Sanders - (The old white socialist man is hanging onto 3rd-place!)

6.0 - Pete Buttigieg - (The gay male mayor from South Bend remains in a distant 4th-place!)

5.6 - Kamala Harris - (The once prominent senator from California continues to fade-away into obscurity!)

3.6 - Andrew Yang - (The guy who wants us all to get rid of our cars & air-conditioning is now in 6th-place!)

2.9 - Francis O'Rourke - ("Beto" struggles to remain relevent in 7th-place!)

And we've STILL got over a dozen OTHER nobodies still running, don't we? https://www.realclearpolitics.com/

More interesting would be local numbers, not to mention that several polls still have Bernie at or near first place. Not sure if they're factored into RCP's averages.

The folks at RealClearPolitics.com actually DO release separate cumulative polling numbers for certain other states, Severus, including one for IOWA - here are the current numbers for that state:

Check that Green New Deal and medicare for all. He want's to START by nationalizing Energy, Agriculture and HC.

Social democrats are capitalist that re-destribute wealth to provide social services for the less fortunate. Sweden for example.

They don't nationalize their economy, nationalizing the means of production AND wealth redistribution is still good old fashioned socialism. He's still a Marxist.

Well, there are so many political factions that I can't keep up with their definitions or affiliations. The Comrade doesn't believe in billionaires, he wants to steal from the rich and give to the poor, no more billionaires. I see that as Robin Hood with a big red star on his forehead and a sickle instead of a bow and arrow.

You make a good point there, Jay-Kendall. In other news, the latest RealClearPolitics.com averaging of the national-polls have been released, with Creepy-Sleepy-Joe continuing his downward trajectory...

28.4% - Joe Biden - (This Ukraine business is NOT good for "Gropin' Joe's" campaign!)

21.7 - Elizabeth Warren - (Liz is slowly catching-up to the former V.P.)

17.3 - Bernie Sanders - (The old white socialist man remains in 3rd-place)

5.9 - Pete Buttigieg - (The gay mayor of South Bend remains in a distant 4th-place!)

4.9 - Kamala Harris - (Kamala's shrinking candidacy has her still in 5th!)

3.3 - Andrew Yang - (He's still in 6th!)

2.4 - Francis O'Rourke - (And there's "Beto" still in 7th!)

source: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/ - still 4-months to go before the Iowa caucuses!
