Lubbock and Amarillo are not major cities. Houston is not a red city. It's purple most of the time. As cities go Texas is no different than anywhere else. Left leaning almost across the board. They sometimes get too much credit for going right because the suburbs are mostly red.

A few years back, just as I was going to lock the front door for the night a stranger opened it. He was about my age.
I asked who he was and he told me. It was clear he thought I was in the wrong place until he looked around. Then he realized it wasn't his house.
He apologized and left. Perhaps he was baffled why his garage door opener didn't work moments earlier when he parked in my driveway. A few years earlier I was in the neighbor's driveway, punching away at the clicker before I realized I wasn't in front of my own house.
Yeah, there were only five or six floor plans on the street. It happens.
Just sayin'.
