What's the story behind your username?

Numenius Arquata is the curlew, a gorgeous bird which spends the summers in my part of the world.

I know there's a Greek philosopher called Numenius, so I added the 'a' to avoid confusion with him! Unfortunately, Americans unsurprisingly see 'usa' on the end...

But as everyone seems to call me Numi these days (which I love, thanks curvyangel!), it matters not ;)

There was a little saying back in the 50's about what a man wanted:

"A chef in the kitchen, a lady in the living room, and a whore in the bedroom."

I didn't think AKentuckyChef or a AKentuckyWhore gave the right impression. Thus AKentuckyLady was born.

Although I do identify with all three ;)

I bet you make a great Derby pie. :D (ducking)

I don't remember if I'd posted it on here, but it was my given radio callsign while I was in the military... Earned it in Iraq

A scrivener is an old name for a writer, so here we are. The underscore was to make it ~flashy~, lol

A couple years back I was frustrated with a lot of things in my life and I just wanted to scream and let loose and give a solid handful of people a piece of my mind but being an adult, it rarely is a smart idea to throw such a temper tantrum. I found a couple of forums to let me vent and get through it but needed an email where I could remain anonymous to post. Seemed like it would work for here as well.

'em' is the phonetic spelling of the first letter of my first name. And I'm doing it my way.

I normally see them while on holiday at the coast when they're moving away from their breeding grounds to feed up in preparation for the winter. They are marvellous birds.

Mine is pretty straightforward, I am into fitness and healthy eating and proud father of two sons.

Inspired by the villain from "Live and Let Die"...decided to go with real world counterpart...added the 19 because I was nineteen when it happened...

Well...

Black is my favorite color...See my closet and you wont find much else...

Cashmere is my fetish...:)

Most of all, I am not clever enough to come up with anything fab...

MissHavisham seemed too bitter and Scarlett_OHara too generic.

You're not a spinster living in some weird ass creepy old house? Huh. (Kidding!)

Yeah, Scarlett would be SUPER generic. I like your username, actually. But you know that already.

My Bra size when I joined and I was rather slutty back then so it made sense at the time and now I regret it immensely...

Denny-------<-------that's me!

I occasionally check this thread to see the updates. It's actually educational and interesting.
We're still living and life is still a fantasy. The real world is bitter and scares me.

Lol, well, I am TECHNICALLY a spinster - unwed woman - although it is by choice. And I could only be so lucky to live in a creepy, old house. They have far more character than the vinyl villages of today.

Oh, weeellll, I guess that's true. You're not old though! I always see "spinsters" as being old cat ladies. Nothing wrong with that, but that's what I picture. I agree about the house thing, actually. Vegas is all stucco and red tile. It's a little boring.

A combination of my first name, age and first letter of my last name. The last two which combines nicely to make everyone think that's my breast size. There is a lesson here, always think about your username thoroughly before making it.

Lol, I am 40....but thank you.

When I was creating a new identity for "me" time online, I was looking for random inspiration around me. I saw a can of playdoh. For some reason, it seemed right. Everyone likes to play with playdoh, even if it can get a little messy sometimes. It's also pretty cool for it to be shortened to play when chatting, which is the point, right?

The S is for Scott, which isn't my real first name, but I always felt the name suited me better than my real first name. The A is for my real middle name Alan. It also kind of felt like San Antonio, which is my favorite city in Texas to visit.

Love this thread idea! I'll be checking back.
