She sent me a message this morning. She slept on and off last night and only asked for pain meds once. She said that she has not been in horrible pain, but her arm is very sore to move.

This baffles me. I don't understand how they can send someone home so soon. It is not even 24 hours from her surgery.
Two years ago I had neck/spine surgery. They removed a disk, inserted a plate and fused two vertebrae together. "Out patient surgery" and they wanted to send me home that afternoon!
Really remarkable what they can and will do. Not sure if fully appropriate for the surgery Emmy had.
To me, this is major surgery. I just don't understand sending home someone in this kind of pain.
