I know I've been MIA for a while. It's not necessarily a deliberate choice. More of a "there are only so many hours in the day" situation.
Between trying to keep up with work and helping some extended family members who need some extra TLC after medical procedures (one minor, two more serious) something had to give... and that something has been my play time on the computer.
I don't suddenly have more free time, but I wanted to post because 1) I received an email from a Lit sweetheart letting me know that it has been so long since I posted that moderators will delete any posts here unless I'm active and 2) I am in the midst of choosing a dress to wear for a wedding. One of my choices has made an appearance here before. Alas, it is too snug to be in the running (grrr, haven't had much exercise time lately, either), but I did have some fun with it before putting it back in the closet.
Hope everyone here is doing well.

Hi John! Glad you like the dress. It's not horribly snug- I've seen women out with tighter dresses, but I don't think that's flattering. Besides, it's black - and an outdoor wedding, so that's two strikes against it to start. Always a pleasure to see you here.

I'm drawn to the camaraderie, the frank honesty, the insights and advice, and the playful sexiness that everyone shares here.
But I'm repelled, too. Partly because it's so easy for me to lose so much time here (it's way more fun than working, right?). But also because when I'm here I find myself focusing on and longing for what's missing in my life. When I'm not here, I focus more on the wonderful things I do have. Usually.
I know that I won't be able to return to the same "honeymoon period" I experienced when I first found Lit- and I am more protective of my heart than I was before, so the slight wariness and diminished openness is a bit stifling.
Plus... Jeez, I am reeaalllly boring lately. Not much to report. I guess I could stop by and type *crickets* but even though it would be accurate most days - it would just be mean.
