324,000 Women Dropped Out of Labor Force in Last Two Months--As Number of Women Not in Labor Force Hits Historic High

324,000 women dropped out of the nation’s civilian labor force in March and April as the number of women not in the labor force hit an all-time historical high of 53,321,000

"women actually make up a larger share of the workforce now than they did in Jan. 2008 before the financial meltdown, and since January 2009, it is a statistically insignificant change. In January 2008, women made up 48.8 percent of the workforce; in January 2009, 49.5 percent; now 49.3 percent."

Shut your mouth and cook my dinner :D

"The rate of female participation in the civilian workforce peaked twelve years ago--in April 2000--when hit 60.3 percent.

Moreover, BLS says the decline of female participation in the workforce over the past year has been statistically significant—dropping from 58.3 percent in April 2011 to 57.6 percent this April.

For both males and females combined, the rate of participation in the labor force dropped to 63.6 percent in April—Recently, however, women have been leaving the labor force in larger numbers than men."

Jow many left voluntarily to raise their newborn child? How many were on Maternaty leave?

The war on women has NOTHING to do with the work force, and has EVERYTHING to do with rights of women to their own bodies!!!!!

Not that this necessarily has anything to do with the GOP as such, but Rev. Jesse Lee Patterson, head of the conservative Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND) and an occasional guest of Sean Hannity, says "one of the greates mistakes America ever made" was giving women the vote. (He's black, BTW; and does not mention slavery or any of its consequences as great mistakes of America's, here.)

"We should have never turned [the vote] over to women," Peterson said during the sermon. "And these women are voting for the wrong people. They're voting for people who are evil, who agree with them, who are gonna take us down the pathway of destruction."

The misogynistic tirade continued, with the reverend warning againt women in positions of power because they "freak out” and “go nuts" if confronted with an issue.

"They can't handle stress. They can't handle anything,” he said. “You walk up to them with an issue, they freak out right away. Especially if they can't get the problem resolved right away … they go nuts. They get mad. They get upset. Because it's not in their nature. They don’t have patience. They don't have love."

He said wherever women are in control, evil finds its way through, referencing homosexuality and gay marriage as examples.

”Wherever woman reins, evil is taking over," he said.

Republicans

Are only concerned about preserving the ongoing wealth of their millionaires and I find it amazing how the ones who are hurt the most by their wealth protective legislation are voting for them.:(

There is no sense for TexasWife to even go to the poles in November.

Romney will carry the state in a walk.

I suggest she just stays home, ankles behind her ears, tits cupped, etc.,:D

Yeah, I don't think she should go to the Arctic or the Antarctic in November either

she might want to go to the polls though

see what I mean about you being stupider then a piece of shit?

On the GB, the more conservative, the more right wing you are, the lesser your intelligence is. Not an opinion, a fact.

substitute right with left and the sentence holds true......

Beg to differ, since the word conservative, in the turest sense, means narrow-minded. Does the left NOT want our children to further their education beyond high school? Does the left NOT want women to have a say in their own health issues?

In a show of bipartisanship that is basically unprecedented these days in the dysfunctional U.S. Senate,
the Senate recently reauthorized and expanded the Violence Against Women Act- S. 1925
(Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2011 )

Misogynistic ‘Men’s Rights’ Group Endorses GOP Version Of Violence Against Women Act

Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska has added her name to a letter signed by Senator Patty Murray and 11 other
Democratic Senators calling on John Boehner to pass the Senate version of the bill.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...nst-women-act/2012/05/16/gIQAvTnCUU_blog.html

The House has just passed a watered-down version of the Violence Against Women Act, by a vote of 222 to 205.
196 men voted in favor of the watered-down version of the bill today: 191 Republicans, 5 Democrats.
23 Republicans voted against the passage of the bill, while 6 Democrats voted in favor of it.

The House Judiciary Committee passed the Cantor/Adams VAWA Reauthorization bill in a nearly straight party line vote on May 8th.
Only one Republican, Ted Poe (TX-2), joined the Democrats in voting no. The Committee, in denying consideration of the substitute
bill of Ranking Member John Conyers (D-MI), essentially rejected what Vice President Biden (principal author of the original VAWA)
called the "real McCoy" VAWA Reauthorization, which passed the Senate with a bipartisan 68-31 vote in late April.

The Obama Administration released a Statement of Administration Policy (PDF) yesterday in which the administration threatened to
veto the House version of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), HR 4970, because it does not contain many of the protective
provisions that are included in the Senate version. These provisions include protection for LGBT, immigrant, and Native American
victims of domestic or sexual violence.

These men are "winning."

Michigan moves to pass bi-partiasn anti-choice super bill.

http://current.com/14f5ckc

HB 5711, which includes a mixture of restrictions, TRAP laws, bans on telemedicine and access to the morning after pill, in addition to banning abortion after 20 weeks, even in the case of rape, incest, or where the mother’s life is at risk. I

Among other things, the bill includes the following provisions:

Outlaws abortion after 20 weeks (fetal pain)
Every woman must be screened to determine if she’s been coerced into seeking an abortion
Every woman must be given a physical picture or depiction of a fetus that corresponds to the gestational age (informed consent) of the fetus
Requires women to access a government website to view additional “informed consent” material and provide proof that the material has been viewed
Requires that women be told of the “side effects” of abortion: depression, feelings of guilt, sleep disturbance, loss of interest in work or sex, or anger.
Requires women to be in the presence of their physician when ingesting medicine abortion, and bans the use of technology to prescribe medicine abortion or emergency contraception
Requires abortion providers to maintain a $1 million professional liability policy
Institutes numerous TRAP laws that would force providers to comply with building requirements, such as surgery rooms, even if the facility does not perform surgical abortions
