...though I am not sure of my exact definition, Beastiality would suffer to be placed in BDSM as a sub-category under Sadism and/or Masochism. Two consensual parties to the "play", or "scene".

Same action,...but different mind set? What if a man wanted his wife/gf/sex partner, (who also loved and cared for the dog deeply), to watch his dog,(which he loved and cared for deeply), fuck him in the ass. Is that Zoophilia or beastiality?

It's all semantics in my opinion anyway. Zoophiles tend to regard their animal with a great deal of affection, and believe that somehow makes it better when they play around with them. They regard bestiality with disgust, for the most part; perhaps it's less consensual; perhaps it's just less "special." I usually laugh at this point. It's not legal. You can't make a foolproof argument that it's consensual. Therefore, the only reason to differentiate between the terms is to give yourself mental reassurance that you really aren't a bad person because you LOVE your pet. Doesn't change the actions at all.

So to answer your question, they probably consider it zoophilia. I'd call it bestiality as a general rule, because the "intentions" of either party to make smoochies with their puppy don't really matter much to me. I would also definitely call that a fetish. Lit would put it in Extreme/Non-Human, but I'm not Lit.
