One does not get places by changing people's minds. One gets place by channeling sentiments that already exist.

He also said the following:

“If you can’t convince them, confuse them.”

“The atom bomb is the greatest thing in history.”

“I think one man is just as good as another so long as he's honest and decent and not a nigger or a Chinaman.”

“Whenever you have an efficient government, you have a dictatorship.
Each of those quotes needed to be documented. I have never known a Chinese American I did not like.

If we didn't spend time money and blood on the Civil War to change minds, we'd still have slavery. Real movers don’t wait for sentiments to appear like magic; they create, challenge, and transform minds. If all you do is echo the crowd, you’re a follower, not a leader.

I document my assertions. Document yours.

If Truman really did say all that stuff, I would like to repeat that I have always had a high opinion of Chinese. I also think that the Truman doctrine overestimated the danger of Communism, and that a more congenial approach to the Soviet Union would have reduced the danger of nuclear war.

There never was a remote chance that the United States would somehow "go Communist." The fear of Communism was used by Republicans to discredit Democrats and the democratic left in general.

The spread of communism in China, Korea, Vietnam, and Eastern Europe demonstrated that the ideology was not confined to theory but had conquered large territories and millions of people. The "Chinese" gave birth to Mao who was the biggest mass murderer in history, with Joe Stalin coming in second.

The assertion that the United States never faced a genuine threat of communism ignores a complex reality. During the early to mid-20th century, communist ideology wasn’t just an abstract fear, it was a powerful global movement actively seeking to expand Soviet influence, including inside America. The Communist Party USA, though never dominant, had notable pockets of support and ties to Soviet intelligence, with tangible espionage cases, such as the Rosenbergs, Harry Dexter White, and Alger Hiss, which proved genuine Soviet infiltration efforts. The Chinese are doing their best to infiltrate, undermine, and control the United States.

Communism was imposed on Eastern Europe and North Korea by the Soviet Army. Communism succeeded in Russia, China and Vietnam because the alternative to Communism failed to win the support of most of the people in those countries.

After the United States lost the War in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos "went Communist," but other nearby countries did not because they had popular governments.

In 1979 Communist China invaded Communist Vietnam. This demonstrated that Communism was not an international movement ruled by Moscow, but a reflection of the nationalism of various countries. The Communist Vietnamese Army also stopped the Communist government in Cambodia from killing Cambodians.

During the Cold War Communist espionage was a legitimate concern for Americans. Communist subversion was not. Members of the American Communist Party had the same rights you and I do to spread their ideas.

I have known and liked members of the American Communist Party.

After I graduated from college, I took a fascinating seminar on Das Kapital given by a brilliant member of the American Communist Party. The man who directed the seminar worked during the day as a physicist. He was also translating a book from Russian to Swedish for the Soviet Government. How is that for industrial strength IQ power?'

Interestingly enough, I already owned most of the books on the reading list. These included all three volumes of Das Kapital, and an anthology of essays by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. These had been printed in Moscow by Progress Publishers. When I showed the reading list to my father, Dad, who was an economist, said, "He knows a lot about economics."

An education in economics without a belief in personal liberty and free enterprise is like studying navigation without acknowledging the stars, technically informative but fundamentally lost, missing the essential forces that truly guide markets and human prosperity.

Zorhan gave trump back what Zorhan received in the way trump understands.

Yeah, but the problem with Zohran is that he’s too much like Trump in certain ways:

Empty promises and a cult of personality that has an element of dangerous faux religiosity.

Traditional Democratic Party pragmatism and steady progress isn’t flashy / exciting (dramatic / chaotic) but it does deliver better (more consistent?) results, imho.

If / when Mamdani fails to deliver on his promises, there could be a backlash against the Democratic Party (which Mamdani doesn’t really represent) and progressivism in general.

The election of Mamdani comes with significant risks (just like with Trump).

We shall see.

Yes indeed the city pays its transit drivers, BUT with zero income being collected (see free busses), where is money coming from for the salaries?
Taxes. It's what we do in Melbourne and it works just fine. Letting working people save on the commute to work will lead to them spending that money elsewhere and ultimately benefit the economy. It's like you people always say about cutting taxes for the rich, only in this case it actually will happen because you're giving a break to people who actually need a break.
That's how bad Mamdani is perceived by intelligent people, and yes Trump is intelligent. It's how he became a billionaire.
Even you don't really believe that. I simply do not believe anyone with enough intelligence to operate a computer and participate in a community like this could be unaware that Trump did not earn his money in any meaning of the word. I know it's the party line, but come on!

He also said the following:

“If you can’t convince them, confuse them.”
In other words, "flood the zone with shit", as your hero's right hand man said.
“The atom bomb is the greatest thing in history.”
It did bring an end to the atrocities Japan was inflicting on the rest of Asia when nothing else could.
“I think one man is just as good as another so long as he's honest and decent and not a nigger or a Chinaman.”
Nearly everyone born in 1884 was a racist by today's standards. Besides, Truman also got the first civil rights bill of note through Congress, and he integrated the military. (And @JohnEngelman, yes, he said it.)
“Whenever you have an efficient government, you have a dictatorship.
I don't see what's incorrect or objectionable about that.

What you call "personal liberty" I see as the power of rich people over those without money.

Is the felon 🤡 going to send on the Marines to save the City?

The City of Americans who voted for an American to be mayor of their American city?
Speaking of "sending in the Marines", didja hear about the little TikTok video disappearance yesterday?
Earlier this week a woman walked out of a store across the street from a National Guard armory when she saw two platoons of Marines (presumably reservists) march out to the parade ground at the Armory.

She thought, oh! I'm going to watch our Marines do their famous close-order drill! I'm going to video this..how exciting!

But they weren't doing close-order drill....

They were undergoing riot-control training, with big ole riot batons to compensate for their teeny Marine peeners.

She uploaded the video to TikTok, a couple of big influencers found her video and put it on blast, and it went viral....for 12 hours.

And then every single copy/repost/comment on that video shared across the TikTok platform disappeared down the rabbit hole.

Congress decision to have China sell a majority interest in TikTok to shadowy conservative investors is paying dividends to the new buyers. No more inconvenient videos of American or Israeli troops being shared!

YDB95, New Yorkers already pay National Income Tax. State Income Tax, plus City Income Tax. When is enough is enough? Especially with Momdomi's hatred of ALL Jews, ALL police, plus the fucked up idea of government run grocery stores. Like I've said, those New Yorkers deserve what they get.

I've got the perfect solution to Asshole Mandomi's refund the police idea! He can import all his Hamas pals to replace the NYPD!!

Then you know perfectly well where the bus drivers' salary is going to be paid from. Case closed.
When is enough is enough? Especially with Momdomi's hatred of ALL Jews, ALL police, plus the fucked up idea of government run grocery stores.
Don't confuse support for badly needed police reform with "hatred of all police". And you've got no real evidence he hates all Jews either. As for government run stores, just because you hate the idea doesn't mean it's necessarily a bad one.
Like I've said, those New Yorkers deserve what they get.
I think so too.

How on earth can you support Mandami when HE supports Hamas? Also, do the supporters of Hamas, like Mandami, say anything but hatred towards Jews? Think about that!
