He's about to reach into the wallets of every hardworking person in the state to pay for his defense, simply because Zimmerman doesn't feel like working.

I'm not sure why the NRA has not fully funded his defense, and told all of their members to avoid vacationing in Florida, and called for the immediate resignation of the governor.

Oh, well. Everyone gets a defense.

And I have no problem with that if they really need it. But Zimmerman has chosen not to work for months on end and now expects everyone else to pay 100% of his legal defense. Dude should get up off his ass and work for at least some of the money.

That is not a requirement for getting a legal defense. I don't see why he should be treated any different than anyone else.

How did the strippers get all the money? Wait maybe Zimmerman can ask Jackson or Sharpton. They say that they always want to help people that claim to be innocent.

I don't know. I haven't seen any reports that Zimmerman was giving money from his legal fund to strippers.

I think anyone who wants some public assistance should at least have a job.

Legal representation is not "public assistance." When government is threatening to take someone's life, liberty, or property, they are required to give them due process which includes the right to a fair trial and legal representation.

Also, haven't been following this but one would assume Zimmerman's life is still in danger from lunatics and can't work for his own safety and the safety of others he'd be working with. Though I don't know the details of his current situation that would be my guess. Do you actually want him to be attacked, is that the real point of the thread?

To be fair, he wouldn't have to worry about his $1 miliion dollar bail if he and his wife hadn't lied about the fund under oath

Honestly, isn't 6 figures enough? There are people out there making a living for themselves (who haven't killed someone) who don't even earn this much!

Personally, I think he's an idiot. If he were genuine, he would at least take manslaughter and walk away.

He is out on bail?

Safety isn't an issue for Zimmerman. He owns guns, guns make people safer. Criminals won't attack people who they think can defend themselves. Don't take my word for it, ask Vette. I certainly don't want anyone to be attacked. Someone attacking someone else is how this whole thing started.

When someone wants to come into my pocket, and take the hard earned dollar I worked for, simply because they choose not to work, it meets every definition of public assistance. Zimmerman was a paralegal. He could work for the lawyer defending him to help pay down the cost.

Chosen not to work?

How's that supposed to work there Sparky?

Have the death threats, then, ceased to come in...?

That's a good point. I totally forgot that in this modern age of technology you must leave your house to perform any job imaginable.

Hire him to consult with you...

It's about time for school to start up.

Or would your moral indignation get the best of you...?

Who is going to hire him, idiot?

I detect a note of happy giddyness to Sgts thread as if Zimmerman were finally getting what he had coming to him having already been tried and convicted, now he's in the punishment phase and if they can get him out of the house, they can issue him some real justice...
