Deep breath, sweetie - they love you, and were scared to death. Fear often makes people act badly. Not an excuse, but an explanation for a very human reaction.scheherazade_79 said:I'm home, and I made a discovery this afternoon that kind of soured things - my skateboard is no moreIt's not a case of - 'Oh dear, where could it be?' I know damn well where it is - in small pieces in the firewood pile, with the exception of the wheels and the trucks, which were in the bin.
That's the best board I ever had.
At the moment I'm pretty speechless.
Before I was wondering whether I wanted to go skating again. Now I'm fucking determined that I'm going to. Totally not impressed. I've already ordered a replacement, which is being mailed to a friend's house.
I can't think of anything else to say except that. I can't believe they did that![]()

Of course it was extreme - they were extremely scared to death! (As were we all.)scheherazade_79 said:Don't you think it was a bit extreme?

Take another deep breath, sweetie. Not much time will pass before you will be telling this story about how they executed your board and laughing your head off.scheherazade_79 said:Don't you think it was a bit extreme?

scheherazade_79 said:I'm not so sure about that. It's not just the board - it's what it represents.

Yeah, that's correct. You living there doesn't give them the right to execute your board, but like I said, that was an emotional-driven action, and the emotions that drove it were one's you can cherish, if not the action in this instance.matriarch said:Hun, you know my feelings on this. I understand the wish to take out their frustrations on what they view to be the cause of disaster, but it would've been much more productive for them to simply buy you a helmet.scheherazade_79 said:I'm home, and I made a discovery this afternoon that kind of soured things - my skateboard is no moreIt's not a case of - 'Oh dear, where could it be?' They're still trying to come to grips with her coming out - as a cig smoker and skateboarder.lucky-E-leven said:I understand the wish to take out their frustrations on what they view to be the cause of disaster, but it would've been much more productive for them to simply buy you a helmet.
