I'm home, and I made a discovery this afternoon that kind of soured things - my skateboard is no more :( It's not a case of - 'Oh dear, where could it be?' I know damn well where it is - in small pieces in the firewood pile, with the exception of the wheels and the trucks, which were in the bin.

That's the best board I ever had.

At the moment I'm pretty speechless.

Before I was wondering whether I wanted to go skating again. Now I'm fucking determined that I'm going to. Totally not impressed. I've already ordered a replacement, which is being mailed to a friend's house.

I can't think of anything else to say except that. I can't believe they did that :(
Deep breath, sweetie - they love you, and were scared to death. Fear often makes people act badly. Not an excuse, but an explanation for a very human reaction. :rose:

Don't you think it was a bit extreme?

I have to say, as a mother, if one of my kids had been through what you had....believe me, I'd have done exactly the same.

Stick to your bike. You can kill yourself just as easily, and its far more accepted. *blink*

Take another deep breath, sweetie. Not much time will pass before you will be telling this story about how they executed your board and laughing your head off. :D

I'm not so sure about that. It's not just the board - it's what it represents.

Hun, you know my feelings on this. If you don't want interference - move out.

*hugs* it was a bit extreme, and rox is right they were extremely worried, but still, they had no right. You're a grown woman and that was bought with your own money. We had this conversation the last night you spent in prison...about them being worried, etc etc.

*hugs* take a walk sweetie if that's what will help

Yeah, that's correct. You living there doesn't give them the right to execute your board, but like I said, that was an emotional-driven action, and the emotions that drove it were one's you can cherish, if not the action in this instance.

The bottom line is, you have to balance the value you get from living there, financial and other things, against the cost and value that comes from having your own place. At this moment the equation may balance against moving out; six months from now the balance may be in the other direction. At any given moment, it's your decision, and your choice. Both options have costs and benefits.

I understand the wish to take out their frustrations on what they view to be the cause of disaster, but it would've been much more productive for them to simply buy you a helmet.

I can't go on like this much longer

You don't have to.
Start looking.
Rental to start with if you have to. Just do it.

You know this is now the time to start taking control of your own life.

Auntie.....with love.

They're still trying to come to grips with her coming out - as a cig smoker and skateboarder. :D

Thank you, Roxanne.

Interview was cancelled on my behalf. I couldn't have cared less at the time. Now I kind of have some regrets, but if it wasn't meant to be, it wasn't meant to be. There are more important things in life.

I'm here. Just had a headache for most of the day, so didn't go online. :rose:

Oh, I forgot to mention that an ice pack and lying flat on my back helped me with my headaches. *HUGS*

Morning get well hugs for Zade - (afternoon hugs for you)

Thank you, Roxanne

In a weird twist of fate I've just had an invite to appear on the telly in a couple of weeks... It involves kind of role playing and not being myself. The guy I'm appearing with is one of my toking/skating buddies, and he's been one of my best friends for the last 22 years. I have to pretend that I don't know him, and that I believe in his sensible, respectable and intelligent persona...

There's an evil demon inside me that's thinking I should do it - just for the hell of it

Tried it. Thank you, Moonie :rose:

I'm ok at the moment. At least it's not constant.
