Youtube is launching Youtube Red tomorrow: https://www.youtube.com/red

$9.99 per month for ad-free content. If you already pay $9.99 per month for Google Music (which I do), you get Red for free and vice versa.

Considering a lot of folks are cutting the cord and streaming only; what do you think? Sounds like a decent deal to me.

Polé to follow.

Sounds like another porn site in disguise, to me (Red… red district etc.)
Back to your old tricks, huh?

I don't use youtube anywhere near enough to warrant paying for it. I'm not surprised they've done this because they've never been able to pull a profit and Google isn't going to take that for very long.

I've not even heard of it. Is it being advertised only on YouTube? I guess that would make the most sense.

I'm not buying it. It's another cash grab is all.
Oh you don't want advertisements? Well you can pay for our service... Brought to you by Pepsi, the choice of a new generation and Gillette: The Best A ManCan Get.

Hulu is doing the same thing. You don't want the 2 or 3 commercials? Ok, pay us $10. Oh and here's a commercial telling you we won't show you any commercials.

Why couldn't they just call it Redtube?

It'll be interesting how ad-free services will progress when Netflix starts putting in tons of commercials.

Does it mean I can put together my favorites of Vevo "official videos" and they will play all the way through my list? If so $10 is a good price.

i also like the save videos to play offline thing they are offering that you can also already do with a wide variety of programs. sure, maybe they'll find a way to block adblockers and downloaders, but until they do they can go fuck themselves.

I wouldn't know. I use dollar shave club.

I missed this. Me, too. Funnily enough, those DSC ads were a YouTube smash in the beginning.

The service is pretty cool so far and the more I use it, the more it can be used as a Netflix type thing.
