Your Writing Desk: NaNo Edition

It's almost 4am and I'm about to start my NaNo novel. My desk has the following: Bottled water, a bar of chocolate, a pack of gum, aspirin, a ball of hair (don't ask), a cup of tea, two notebooks and a couple of pens.

An empty Barq's bottle and an empty plastic bag that once held cookies. Oh, and the nagging feeling that I should have completed my character sheets and thought more about this.

Lets see...2 huge speakers, 2 smaller speakers, a microphone, guitar picks (boyfriend's a musician, records his own stuff...) 3 empty glasses, 2 empty soda cans, 1 full soda can, the telephone, a bag of Reese's cups, a bag of chocolate and white chocolate chunk cookies, a pack of cough drops, antibiotics for my ear infection, 4 packs of matches, an ashtray, 8 cigarettes (must remember to tell him to bring more home) a pack of blank CDs, my travel drive...And I didn't even start Nano yet so in about 4 hours imagine everything that you read above plus a great big mug of coffee and my coffee maker so I don't have to keep running downstairs.

Thanks. At least I know my main characters name and what she looks like. Really, I only have three main characters and they are pretty well embedded in my mind. I guess I just have to let them loose and see what they do this time.

Yeah, on the little pull out thingy under the desk. My monitor is also on the desk, real close to me because I need glasses and have no insurance to get myself a pair.

Any chance of a $99 package at Empire Vision Centers or Walmart. Don't know how far you are into PA but up in Vestal, NY they often have a 99.00 package for exam and pair of glasses.

Not that I know of and I'm pretty far from NY...a few hours with no driver's license.

Yep... edited / re-written, as discussed, through to chapter 10. New chapter to be added when I get the edit a bit further on.

I'm also drafting a new novel outline - I find I can only 'do' 2-3 hours of edit at a stretch, and I've time on my hands so I'm switching twixt the two.

Have I ever told you - you have nice alliterations!

Actually, I'm moving from the table in the motel room, to the counter at work and then back again.... Thank the Gods and Godesses for laptops or I'd be screwed half the time....
