You know the old ones sitting in the back of the closet, in the garage, down in the basement.

Would you ever consider giving them away?

Once.
Then Irealized that they could be used as a cheap source for emergency parts. so I stripped them and threw away the carcass. If they could have been used for good I would have.

I gave mine to a 13 year old girl who never would have been able to afford a computer on her own.

Set her up with a free dialup connection too.

absolutely Angel...

I do the same all the time, whether a family member, or someone I know who would LOVE to have their first computer. Working in the computer field, I am able to do this VERY easily. What good is it doing sitting in the closet?

If anyone does have any spares that they would like to donate to a decent cause, give me a shout.

I kind of recycle/rebuild my old computers rather than buying a whole new machine and the bit's I can't use I swap with friends for bits I need.

There are organisations in this country who take old computers from company's and send them to third world country's.

I sell my old 'puters to relatives for more than they are actually worth.
