What will you be making? Will you share your recipes with us?

Depends if it is Digiornos or Tombstone in the freezer.

Traditional Christmas dinner:

Standing rib roast... rare
new potatoes broiled flat side down with a sage leaf, garlic and olive oil
braised brussel sprouts
Yorkshire pudding
buckets of gravy

after dinner: port, ripe pear slices with stilton cheese

Desert: assorted fruit "tarts" (I don't make these... a Brit from outside the family does) and pecan pie

I've always wanted to try that, is that where you soak the pears in the port first?

I've not even put in thought to Christmas dinner yet. It will just be me and two kids this year. So while I'd rather do a decadent and gluttonous meal, I'd probably be the only one appreciating it.

Not sure yet....depends what the kids want really. It's my eldest's last Christmas at home so I'm letting her choose for Xmas day, indulging her a little :)

Butterfly your AV is gorgeous. :rose:

I host Christmas Day dinner and the menu this year will be:

Butter-rubbed beef tenderloin
Garlic roasted potatoes
Green bean casserole (my sister's favorite)
Homemade rolls
Marinated cheese and French bread toasts
Hot corn dip and tortilla chips
The Ginger's mom will bring her delicious strawberry salad
My sister is bringing some sides, whatever she wants to create
Dairy Queen ice cream cake (not kidding, it's what the kids asked for)
Homemade Spritz cookies

I've been toying with a chocolate fondue too but I will probably save that for New Year's.

Thank you  :rose:

I really do need to think properly about what we'll be having, and prod the girlchild into making a decision :)

One of the new hires was told she'd have to work a double on Christmas. I plan on offering to work half of it for her.

There will be the traditional fried chicken breakfast xmas morning. Rice & gravy, peas, biscuits, the usual. Haven't decided what xmas dinner will be.

Xmas eve will be the traditional party snack supper. Li'l smokies, chex mix, fruit, several cheeses, couple different breads, that sort of thing. I need to find out who all will be over so I'll know how much to make.

Do you yanks have bread sauce with your turkey dinner over there at Christmas or is that a Brit thing?

I think we are having Ham this year with cheesy potatoes.

Fuck that sounds good right about now.

I've been living on vending machine food because I'm not spending $10 on a sandwhich. My family keeps putting somebody in the hospital. I just got home like 2 days ago. We need to do something for Christmas. We don't even have a tree or lights or anything up; Idk if Bitesize and the gf are gonna be here or go see her family; I haven't thought about food. If I get stuck cooking for some reason I'll probably do turkey because I don't care for ham. Just never been a fan.
