Do you have a favorite story you have written?

Like most authors I like pretty much all my stuff but there are some I think I actually wrote better.

My best written story (In my opinion)The Shadow has one of my lowest voting results.

Where one of my worst stories (in my opinion)Desolation Sound has some of my highest voting results. Besides my two Rants that is (maybe people enjoy controvesy).

Is this because DS is about incest and alot of the readers seem to be into that or is it truly a better written story compared to The Shadow?

Some feedback would be appreciated....

Has this happened to any of you other authors out here in AH? Have you written a story you thought was "balls on" and have it get real low voting results and written another one you felt wasn't your best and it end up getting some of the best results? Let me know!

I am really proud of and enjoyed writing "Travieso". There are plans for a sequel and a triology, but I have to get my head back on straight to start those.

Incest is HUGE on Lit. It's the most popular category and you are likely to get LOTS of view and pretty good scores there.

As for stuff I've written... my fun little stroke series, Babysitting the Baumgartners, got TONS more reads and higher scores than any other of my stories... but it wasn't the "best story" I've done, by a long shot...

I don't know if your theory about the controversial is true, necessarily... I've done controversial stories like Faith (non-erotic) and Hush Little Baby (fetish) or I'll Be Your Superman (loving wives) and they don't even get a little "H"!

And one of my better non-erotic pieces, The Bed currently sits at a whopping 3.29!

When I first posted Abyss I wasn't that happy with it. I wasn't at all sure I'd done what I'd set out to do.

That changed with all the lovely feedback I received.

I'm pretty proud of all my work actually.

Of my work, my two faves are still:
Black Lion
Which I love because, well, it was darn fun to write, but I also managed to cross four categories with it: gay, interracial, BDSM and mature :)

And the other is:
Till Dawn
Which has gotten the most comments, some of them very powerful and moving. It's one of those lightning strikes stories. It just came together.

I will be reading all these stories posted...probably put my two cents in as well!

All my stories are good, I like to believe. I am proud of each for specific reasons.

"Fear, Lust, and Vanity" was my first, and it I established multiple plot and character threads that led to future great stories. The cameos, satire, hot lesbian action, etc, were all secondary to that. It was also fun to turn a nude photo shoot into a paparazzi car chase into a seduction into intense experiences at a hotel.

I wrote "A Request for Help" about a show I had never seen, used people with whom I was not that familiar, and based it on a work of classic literature. I was surprised it got as great reviews as it did. It taught me a lot. That, and it was completed in just a few hours.

"The Rendezvous" is probably the longest most complex story I have ever done. It has some of the most surprising characters- a swinging rebel Scientologist, a teenager too confident for her own good, a bitch who lets her own doubt and resentment dissuade her from living her dreams, and deluded naive Keri Russell, trying to get back into acting while building friendships with these poor girls. I agonized forever over how to get it right, plugging it endlessly on another board just to keep myself interested. In the end, I was pleased I pulled this story off, and made it work for some people, but disappointed at the lack of comments and somewhat low readership. Oh well, the girls ain't that popular and it's a long story- so what?

"Conviction: In Media Res" was my first purely erotic fanfic. It's also my shortest story and most easily stood on its own despite its shocking subject matter. I really enjoyed writing it. It was another seven hour rush job that cleaned up well.

"X-Men 3: Additional Aftermath" was the first time in a long while I continued a great movie and made it what I wanted it to be. It got a huge amount of readers, and the best feedback I have ever seen. I took many risks with it, and it paid off. :)

"Two Cats in Heat" was my first story about my favorite pitcher, and the first of my Genuine Austin Originals (partially Austin-inspired stories) that made it onto Lit. It also parodied LOTR, fundamentalist religious purity, sports, and erotic celebrity fantasy- four things about which I am particularly passionate. This story is dedicated in memory of our departed friend Colleen Thomas. May she read it and smile, wherever she is now.

"Compensation" was a first-person hetero story about a grown-up pop princess who did not have such a tribute until now. I have always admired her, and I am pleased to be the first I know of to give her something like this. It honors many not-commonly used elements of celebrity erotica, and erotica in general. It's also another Genuine Austin Original and a tribute to a kindred spirit I never knew.

Check my sig for the link. These tales are erotic celebrity parody, like all my work. I thank Lit for hosting them. More will be coming soon.

All these stories have meant much to me. And I ain't done yet. Far from it, matter of fact.

A Slave of His Desire wrote itself and kept me happy while I was writing it. It got tons of comments and a lot of email.

Endless because it still makes me cry when I read it.

A Gift of Love because it's smarmy and sappy, and I love happy endings.

The favorite story I've written is Gatorbait. It was doing well for awhile. Then it got hit. Oh well. My best rated story is Chooser of the Souls.

Damn thing makes me cry too :p.

I guess my "favorite" is Hero's Reward in romance. It is my best score and has the most positive feedback. Also, it's kind of a pure story about good people trying to survive tragedy (my others are LW, so somebody's always messing up). My first story, After The Fact, is kind of special too. I put way too much of my RL in it, trying to make it special. Although the writing is a little rough because it was my first try, I really enjoy the characters and what they have to say to each other.

It's hard to pick one. I really liked writing "Untouchable", the "Hank" series, and "My Danish Daughter". The Vicki series would be another fave of mine. My proudest one, however, so far, is my sci-fi series "Ambassador's Life". "Heavenly Night" is another fave, of course. And a recent top choice is the Epistle series. I love writing that together with RedHairedandFriendly. The exchange is a nice, dramatic one, full of twists and surprises.

Gosh I guess it must be Anal Sex is for Buttholes cause thats the only story I finished and stuff but Im tring to write another one so it might be my favorite then cause that one was a bad sperience for me and stuff and it wasnt easy to write and its even harder to think of it as a funny story cause it wasnt then but thats ok cause if people like it cause its funny thats better than them not liking it at all and stuff but thanks for asking and stuff.

Debbbie

An Unexpected Knight . . . this is one of my favorites as it was the first time that I tried to write a story and just have it stand on its own without having to depend on sex to carry the story, and it was written for a good friend...

A Walk to The Paradise Garden

Only because I truly have never read another story even remotely like it. The Rainbow would be a close second, it has a spiritual quality that is absent in most of my other serious work.

Sack :)
