Mine has to be Brent Musburger. I always liked him, besides- I suspect he smokes pot.

Keith Jackson sucks donkey dicks. Never liked him and wish he would retire permanently. :)

hubie brown.

nowbody on this planet knows more about basketball than he does.

marv albert... the only man with enough balls to give his toupee a hair cut... to bad he dates tranvestites that look eddie murphy

Harry Carey. I mean he's dead now, but it was sure fun to hear him call games drunk off his ass.

Keith Jackson rocks. It was so awesome when Keith Jackson was playing at Oklahoma and you'd be watching like the OU/Nebraska game and Keith Jackson would make one of those awesome catches he made at OU and Keith Jackson would be there going "Whooooooa lemme tell ya about Keith Jackson!!"

Priceless.

Jim "JR" Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler

Slobberknocker and Show me the puppies.

My God he's belledding like a stuck pig and the best tag team in the business her left leg and her fight leg.

'nuff said?

Bob Miller who does (?) the LA Kings games. It's been seven years since I've seen one, but he beats anyone who does games I get to see (Fox Sports Detroit, ESPN, CBC (now that I mention that, Ron MacLean is pretty good, but Don Cherry is too much)

Lat time I saw marvy, his rug looked really bad. Like it needed a chin strap.

I got to see Boomer Easiason (sp?), Dan Marino, PrimeTime, and Jim Nantz practice for "The NFL on CBS" in front of F.A.O Schwartz in Manhattan today. I yelled out "Boomer!" and he looked and waved.

I'm such a dork. :D

Caray, Costas, and the team of Sumerall and Madden. I like Michaels and Madden on MNF now, but John and Pat just had the chemistry you can only get by working together forever.

I also like Keith Olbermann . . . where the hell is he now?

In Memory of Harry

My favorite sportcaster is probably for all the wrong reasons but I really enjoyed Harry Carrey Jr of Chicago Cubs fame. Nothing was better than catching the last few innings of a double-header and knowing Harry was so far into his suds that he often called a game not seen by the fans in attendence. I miss Harry as he made baseball something real and authentic as the 100% beef stadium hotdogs claim to be, wherever you are Harry, this round's on me.....

Originally announced by John Madden
What the Vikings are trying to do, is move the ball up the field...

Big fucking d-uh.

Costas knows everything, not just sports, but old television theme songs and the complete history of Otis elevators. I don't watch many sports on TV, just football, and I drown out the sound eventually. I liked Summerall because he was able to pause once in a while, and Vin Scully was easy on the ears.

I can name a whole bunch of them that sucked, Namath, Tarkenton, Stabler and Jerry Glanville. He was painful to hear him try to say Quadry Ishmael.

I'd like to hear William F. Buckley do hockey, or Walleye fishing.

But Ron has never really "called" a game .. He's just a very good hockey mind.

My top 3 ...

Jim Houston ... Once I hear his voice on TSN again calling hockey, all will be right with the world.

Chris Cuthbert ... I don't get why the geriatric Maple Leaf lovin Bob Cole gets CBC's #1 spot as hockey play by play guy when Chris can call both hockey and football in a very exciting matter.

Pat Summerall .. I know I know, he isn't that great & doesn't describe the play that well, but why should he? It's on TV isn't it??

And a personal favorite that only Albertans will know about.. Rod Phillips.

Murry Walker and James Hunt ... they used to commentate on the Formula One races for the BBC

in the US... well i kinda like the old favourite of Pat Summerall and John Madden.

In no particular order:
Joe Buck
Keith Jackson
Hot Rod Hundley

From PH:
I can name a whole bunch of them that sucked

A whole 'nother thread and it would have to be longer than this one.

Bumping with purpose.

I saw a ESPN program on Howard Cossell last evening. While not an "announcer" he was still one of the best ever.

I also forgot Ernie Harwell.
