I've had all sorts of problems with banks recently. I use Chase Bank and USAA for some things and they seem OK, but it's the local banks that suck. Poorly designed websites that barely function. Login procedures that are designed to annoy and intimidate. I've dealt with 'customer disservice' reps who flat out lied. Fees that were hidden. Total incompetence in fixing problems or outright refusal to address complaints is a reasonable manner.

TIAA is more of a national site that used to be Everbank. It worked fine before it was bought out by some teacher investment group who has basically destroyed it. Gotta play some frigging match the picture catchashit game to log in. And they went to a bunch of Easter Egg colors that make you want to hurl.

I'm investigating US Bank and a couple of others. Some are more regional as far as branches but will accept customer from most anywhere.

So, who can you recommend? Who do you say stay away from?

Chase Bank is OK overall. Website is professional looking and functions well for the most part. Can be a bit slow to load sometimes.

USAA has had some problems making annoying changes, but the worst seem to have been reverted. Thing is you have to be eligible to join.

Bank of America is definitely on the No Go list.

I don't really like CitiBank and they don't have branches anywhere near me, but they're offering some sign up, bonuses.

No on replied to this?

I would always choose a credit union. Since you’re with USAA, you may be able to join Navy Federal. They are the best imo
