Who didn't grow up w/ some sort of partial or complete list of what qualities they'd want in a significant other?

Well, I have a very partial list, but it's also difficult to find. I always thought it would be impossible to find a girl w/ those qualities AND happen to like girls! Oh...how I was wrong! Such a girl popped into my life yesterday! The thing that surprises me is that I'm not even interested or wasn't enthusiastic about it. I mean it was nice knowing there's a girl who likes girls out there who completely fits my list, but I can only see friendship coming out of this.

I'm not sure what kind of msg. I'm trying to impart here, but I guess whatever you're looking for is out there...it's really not that impossible to find someone who has the qualities you deem important. The thing is actually meeting that person might make you have second thoughts about your little list.

Thoughts & insights please.

I have never found a female who embodies what I need to have a faithful, secure relationship. Mostly (I think) I find women who seem to fit..until I learn a bit more about them. Funnily enough, it is far easier to find *men* who fulfill those particular needs, at least for me. The sad thing is (of course) that I am not sexually drawn to men at this point in my life, thus making their fit a moot point.

*head shake*

So far.. the only girls I have met that meet my "list" have either 1) lived too far away or 2) are not single or 3) are straight!

Seems that every time I meet a girl who seems like they would be a good match for me, the circumstances arent right.
Why oh why do all of the decent femme bi/les girls have to live anywhere but here!?? If you happen to find a good girl- point her in my direction! (that's if she doesnt meet your list first ;) )

You know, qualities that might show up on a list are great and important, but I definitely believe that chemistry is the real key - and it's there, in the right form, or it isn't. (I do think it can develop over time, too, but there has to be something there to develop.)

With that said - it's shockingly hard to find someone who meets even a really basic list! Mine is something like:

1. Lives somewhere I can get to
2. Doesn't smoke
3. Does not possess a penis
4. Monogamous
5. Liberal
6. Not so allergic to cats that she can't be around them
7. Into chicks

Basically everything else is negotiable. Is any of that hard? Should it be rare to find a person meeting those criteria? I don't think so, but yeesh, the trouble I have.

Rev! There are a lot of girls around here who fit your list. Of course...except for #1. Might I suggest you relocate? hehehe...just teasing.

Yes. I guess that is what's missing - chemistry (or something else was seriously missing)

- lives in my zip code! (the girl lives in my zip code! but anyone who lives in my state is cool, hehe)
- likes girls
- is capable of having a monogamous relationship
- loves dogs
- adores kids
- is a science major
- is religiously compatible
- cute(hahaha...don't even say anything...)
- likes to read...one of her fav. places has to be the library or bookstore
- is outdoorsy
- etc...everything else is negotiable

:rose:

I think I've become a little jaded with finding the right one. I use to have all the lists and thought I'd either meet that person or just meet the "right" person and things would fall into place. My only objectives now are meeting someone single, nice, interested in me, knows how to laugh, and is within driving distance. Doesn't seem like it would be soo difficult. Next time I make list maybe it should be - seeking single person, even that's too difficult sometimes!

well any of you ladies would fit my list :p but the question is does a soon to be mtf transgendered person even have a shot with most lesbians/bicurious women?

You're like cancelling out every single girl lol. I don't smoke, and maybe meat...but giving up the drink for a girl. That's pushing it lol. What have you been up to?? Still talking to that one girl (A---?)? How is everything!? :rose:

I'm living with my dream guy...he's tall and good-looking and athletic...also, a cool guy. Every girl's dream. If only he'd stop checking out every man and woman who walks by.

I hear you....I'm living with my dream guy too. He's all I want and all I need. I can't really make up a list of his qualities...He's my whole world. That sums it up I guess.

Being guys, we look...of course we look. But when we're out together....even on the dance floor...people stop us and ask if we're together? We grin and say of course and I plant a huge kiss on him.

Girls or guys usually laugh and say " you can tell. You guys look really good together and you can tell you're so much in love". (even though we're skanky dancin' at the time lol)

I like that. :)

I don't think you need a list. When it's right, the other person just "fits".

aw!!!!!!!!! I am so jealous of you guys!!!!! In a way though, I love hearing happy & adorable stories like this. It gives me hope.

If I exist, there's got to be another girl who doesn't do anything of those things out there SOMEWHERE! It's like finding a needle in a haystack. Yeah, I AM into A, but guess what? When I made time to be ALONE w/ her(it was a struggle, too), she brings all these other people that I don't even know. WTF? Anyway, I proceeded to pay attention to the other people & ignored her for the evening. I was upset & couldn't keep my cool w/ her. Although I don't think anyone could tell that I was upset/disappointed, b/c I was all smiley & laughing. I even met the hottest girl ever, & all I could think about is A. I sooooooooooooooooo need to get over that girl. All she does is like stab me in the heart a couple of times sporadically.

Heartbreak central here. :( Anyway, tell me all about your latest crushes. How were things w/ the girlie w/ the cute doggie?

Ah, don't be. After years of going through relationships with a few girls and some guys, I had all but given up. Until I met my guy. He was new to the school. A freshman. I was a sophomore. He was looking for the campus bookstore. Trying to buy a Public Speaking book. I remember smiling and guiding him to the book. Noticed that he was cute. Which shocked me, since I had only been with girls at that point. He was a handsome, sometimes arrogant jock who acted like he owned the world.
He was politically incorrect. He was like Bluto, only prettier and leaner. I was out and proud and somewhat heartbroken after losing my lady to another. Into my life comes this arrogant and macho jock....who was bisexual ( secretly). I fell in love. My friends at the GLBT Alliance wouldn't understand. Oh, well. Two years and a few months later, we live together.

ive found my perfect woman but shes straight...so maybe shes not so perfect lol

i go for dark hair, dark eyes. smiles that light up the room. big and i mean BIG bootys. im such a sucker for those :)

Sorry to hear about A girl - should I kick her ass for my TaTa?????

As for your topic question, well as you know, I have ZERO experience with that stuff. I used to have a list of things qualities to look for, but after my disasterous attempts, Ive narrowed the list down to not doing drugs.

All i can think of is to quote Crosby Stills & Nash "if you cant be with the one you love, love the one youre with".

agh haha. No need to kick her as*. Thank you! I do like her still...surprisingly enough. I guess I'll quit once my heart seriously bleeds to death. :D

Nice quote!! Can't I be w/ the one I love? I don't think it's fair to love the one I'm w/...not fair for that person you know...to have this hesitation that they may be second choice. Don't you think? :rose:

My dream girl-

-Can put me at ease
-Can make me smile, laugh.. cheer me up :)
-Likes to have her space just as much as me
-Has a wild sex drive ;)
-Is very feminine but not a priss
-Is honest and good hearted
-Likes to have fun, and is always down to try new things...
-Can go toe to toe with me
-And loves me as much as I love her.

is that too much to ask for??

My dream guy-

-Is the exact same as my dream girl, except with a penis...

wondering why my post was not accepted...kept saying I needed five new words...and here we are a bi couple..........place sucks at times

Isn't the "must be a science major" thing a bit overmuch? I can underrstand you not wanting a creationist, but one can appreciate science and yet have other vocational calling.

And what if one used to be a science major? I used to study physics and astronomy. Now I study music. Would I pass the grade? ;-)

agh hahaha...yeah...has to be a science major. How else would she understand me running around working 24/7 or being stressed out? Seriously, to be on a rational side, some couples really can't relate to each other, when their career choices are polar opposites from each other. At least, that's what I think.

I love the 'simpsons' & 'family guy, Schnookie! Haven't watched them in a while though... Miss you.
