Your Dream Dinner Party

If you could invite 20 people to a wonderful dinner who would they be? I'm not talking about relatives/family members you never had the chance of meeting. I'm talking about famous individuals who were instrumental in some way in making our world a better place. Or, just people who fascinate you.

Pyper's defense of Gorby in a thread led me to this thread. Gorbachev would definitely make my list. :)

Do they have to be living?

BTW, what was Gorbachev's open policy thingy called? Did it start with a p? This is something I always remember and then forget.

I'd invite the Bush Brothers over to have squirrel burritoes with me and the rest of my trailer park friends :) !

Yeah yeah, that's it, KM. I'm not sure whether you spelled it right either, but that's how it sounds anyway. :)

I couldn't think of 20 specific people, but most of them would be historical free-thinkers, agnostics, and atheists. Them and Doc Holliday. :p

Stephen Hawking.

Geez, forget the guys name and you want him to come to dinner with you?

Havocman and Rosebud
Angelique
Rik Myall (young ones)
Keifer Sutherland
Joe Montana
James Hetfield
Meatloaf
Drew Barrymore
Anthony Franchina (AFL Footballer)

Now serious people.

Oscar Schindler
Peter Garrett (Midnight Oil)
Tzar Nicholas the third
Anastasia (the last two so I could find out what truly happened that night)
Hitler (try to figure out why he did what he did, I'll always wonder WHY)

Now Family that I would really want there.

My Nanna (God rest her soul)
My Uncle from Manchester (into history, and he'd find out more about these people in a couple of hours than anyone would in a lifetime)
My cousin in Manchester (just to catch up LOL)
My Dad (so he could see his Mum again)
My Mum (cause someone needs to cook this meal, and I certainly can't).

My table would be full of oddities, but I have my reasons for wanting them there.

Oh yeah, Nicole's post just reminded me. I would LOVE to meet some of my ancestors. The recent ones on my mother's side especially...I'm really curious about whether they were slaves, or just got mixed up with the slaves (in family pictures, these supposed Irish are African American). I would also like to meet some of my prehistoric ancestors...for anthropology's sake. :)

Jeez...

That *unregistered* post was me- the wordy one without all twenty people.
Don't ask me what I did.

You know this is the sort of thing that could go on and on, you see I have interest's in so many people because they "Intrigue" me, I want to learn more about why they did what they did ... Like ....

Jeffery Dharma
Robert Thompson and Jon Venables (the two 10 year olds that Killed little James Bulger)
Any parent that has ever abused their child to the point of killing their child.

You see not to meet these people but, because I will never fully understand what in their lives pushed them to the point of doing what they have done. I'm not saying that by meeting them I'll ever know, but it will give me an opportunity to maybe find one little thing out.

Then on the flip side, I'd like to meet parents and families of the victims that these things have happened to.

I guess I have an odd mind, but I just like to know how people think they could possibly get away with what they do.

Not saying a dinner party would be the right thing to do, but I couldn't think where else to put this.

Ben Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Marquis de Sade, Bill Gates, Bill Mahrer, Jane Fonda, Galileo, Pope John Paul II, Malcom X, Donna Karen, Madonna, Jim McKay, Davy Crockett, John Kennedy Sr., Mozart, George Patton, Tatanka Yotanka (Sitting Bull), Abraham Lincoln, Mary Magdalene

Albert Einstein
George Washington
any of the Ceasers from the Roman Empire
Ozzy Osbourne
Jimmy Carter
Collin Powell
Winston Churchill
Generals Patton and Macarthur
Roger Waters
Stephen King
Tom Clancy
Bruce Lee
Roger Staubach
Emmitt Smith
Terry Bradshaw

could go on but that is good for starters...........

A fellow Dallas Cowboy fan! You know I think I'm their biggest female fan in the world. Too bad they are going to suck shit this year. I'm not even sure I want to go to any games. Well maybe a few to watch as Emmitt breaks some records. :)

We might suck this year, but I have been there from the Super Bowl years in the late 70's to the terrible teams to the Super Bowl teams in the 90's..........but it is always good to watch my Cowboys play. I kinda like it that they might stink this year, we can lose some deadweight Bandwagon fans........

And I am going to a coupla games this year. Just ain't figured out which ones..........yet! GO COWBOYS!!!

You know I went to my first Cowboys game in 1974/75 at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh..........so hows that? I remember watching the Pearson's, Ed Jones, etc....play as well as Swann, Bleir, Bradshaw, Harris, etc.......those were the days.

Jerry definitely needs to up the ante, again. It is coming, we just need to be careful what we wish for because we might get more than we intended!!!!

I hate crowds, so...

I'd have to have twenty different dinner parties.

I'd like to share beer and brats with Einstein while discussing relativity.

I'd like to go on a picnic with Faith Hill and discuss music.

I'd like to share crackers and milk in bed with Mariah Carey.

Different people, different meals and settings, and different topics.
