Is this a new thing? I don't remember this having been a thing? Who reviews the comment, the author or Literotica staff?

I was unaware of this and I may have sent a comment to some author's stories twice.

It is new to prevent advertising spam comments. The 'review' is done by Literotica and is usually just a few hours' delay.

Now I just feel like a fool for rewriting a bunch of comments just because I thought they didn't send :( I'm gonna go shame in a corner now.

actually they appear at random times, and don't always need approval.

Learned this this weekend. Put a comment on Saturday morning on a story that was disturbing. It wasn't on at oh, 3pm. So I did anew comment on the same story, and BOTH appeared in the comments section when I hit SUBMIT on the comment at 3pm

SO not everything gets reviewed

My comment I wrote on my own story never posted. It's been weeks now. I guess it got lost in the interwebs somewhere.

Oh. So at least it's worth checking up on! I saw that when all my comments were finally approved, after two hours or so, it showed up in my control panel under my activity. Still it would be helpful if your comment previewed to you under the comments list as "pending". Then you don't need to wonder if you realized to click "confirm comment" after previewing it.

The comments form gives you a preview, a chance to edit, asks you to submit, then tells you it's been submitted. Surely there are enough indicators that it's in the system - which has been in place for about six months or so, maybe longer, btw.

The clearance lag (spam and hyperlink finding bots, from what we've been able to figure out) is anywhere from minutes to several hours.

I admit I'm bit of a dummy. It would just be nice if it was more simple than that. Personally I feel it should just post the comment as you approve and not ask for a second time if you're sure (as I believe is the standard on most sites). Maybe even show a "pending" message would be smart with the current system of the comments being reviewed. I admit this is my personal opinion considering the ethnographic experience. It's just that as a long time user of two years, this confused me, and there was nowhere to refer to to see if I had in fact commented at all.
