Your best or your worst PM or IM opening lines... and if you want your reactions ...

It was two years ago when I wrote it... He had to read it, because I was writing it in posts I posted on a thread he and I frequented at one time. Then I wrote a sequel. I don't know if he ever finished that one, but I do know he did read some of it. :D

Actually that does ring a bell, but you should consider yourself honoured!!!

I never claimed the women weren't bad. I have, throughout this thread, said that women are and can be (if not worse) then men.

Feel free to rant anytime.

thanks, its not often i go off on one, but can i thank you for letting me do that on your thread...!

here is a :rose:and 2 `s

I am not quite the newbie my nic indicates having been a lurker for some time around here. And while I expected plenty of unsolicited attention when I registered, I was still surprised by the volume of PMs I got almost immediately.

While I am sure most women here have had the same experience, I thought I would chime in (hey I need the posts). None were shocking or all that horrible, but I was still disappointed in the content of them all. Surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly), they were mostly from men with low post counts.

The ususal:

Hey babe, hot name, tell me more

Sexy nic, got any pics?

Where do you live and what is your yahoo?

Want to chat/swap pics, etc.

I wonder with so many doing this, is it effective? Does this really work for them? I just can't believe it does.

I suspect you are infinitely more successful than the ones that PM'd me in the hours after I registered.

I told one, I chat, but only with people I know well and trust. Which resulted in the follow-up PM asking how to get to know me better so I would chat with him. I told him simply - You could try to be nice and try getting to know me like you would anyone else you were not trying to fuck.

Haven't heard back from him. LOL Maybe I set his bar a little high.

I believe it does work for some folks and I know it doesn't for others. Your Lit name is catchy. :D

I used to get.... Are you really a redhead? or... How friendly are you? (those are the two most popular) oh and of course the favored. ASL?

Welcome to the threads and thanks for uncloaking for us and dropping the lurker status. :D

Wow. Thanks for the compliment. Would you believe I spent a day trying to come up with something that didn't sound stupid/dorky/tired/childish/slutty/etc?

ASL? Maybe I am still a newbie! LOL

Another would you believe - you are one I have read on several threads and someone I admire for your honesty and wit. Not to mention your sexiness.

And I agree, 'hi' works better than most people realize. I think most people, in all circumstances, tend to try too hard when meeting new people. Instead of simply being friendly and genuine.

You're welcome. :) I like it. It's unique and creative. Mine I picked because I honestly am a redhead and I am friendly. I really never thought much more beyond that. I typed out my name and shrugged my shoulders thinking, yep I'm a friendly person, I like to make friends and be a friend. I wasn't even thinking... about... Mmmmm friendly.

ASL = Age/Sex/Location ... I sometimes respond with... old enough to know how/quite good at it/anywhere where your not.

Thank you very much. I try hard to be as upfront and honest as I can, simply because I find it too hard to try and live a "double" life by creating a separate existence on the web. The one behind the screen is difficult enough.

"Hi" is the best and I'll usually respond to a simple "Hi, how are you" much faster than a "come on baby let me be that sucker" (in ref. to that sucker AV of me)
