Do these inane PMs stop after you reach a certain post count. In other words, am I the subject of such silly PMs simply because I am viewed as 'fresh meat'?

Or do you think the draw is my Lit name? If so, I will change it or simply leave. I am really surprised how old this has gotten so quickly (i.e. the ass clown come ons via PM).

Don't leave and don't change your name. The more you post and chat some men will get the message and the PMs will decline. I don't get many anymore. I'd suggest a couple things. . .Put a link to this thread in your sig. or when you get one, give them a link to this thread and don't say anything else in it.

My name draws attention, but I've been here long enough that most folks know not to try fuckin' with me in my box without my permission. I usually get them now from "newbies"; hardly ever do I get them from regular posters with high post counts.

It's not that big a Hijack. And you are right about the different personalities of the two areas. I am pretty new myself here and have learned that the hard way too. The GB can be maddening and the PG is just that. I get a lot of chuckles around here.

But to un-hijack now: I have to admit that I started out here with a few PM's that probably fir into the category of the kind of thing you are annoyed with. This is probably due to my experience (mostly bad) on Yahoo Messenger with this sort of thing. Hang with it and you will "meet" plenty of fun personalities that you enjoy bantering/chatting with. Then when you are comfortable with it and know you have a few "friends" who you can count on to support you, you can start the kinds of threads you want.

Plus you can always turn PM's off or only allow them from budddies.
