Your best friend..

How to go about telling your best friend you like him. I really like one of my best guy friends. We're both single now and always flirt but it has never gone any farther than that. I am stuck and afraid of what to do next. Sometimes I think I should just kiss him and see what happens but I never have the right moment, or I get too nervous. Sometimes I think I should just tell him and see how he feels about it. What would you do, or say, and how would you deal with this situation? We're both in college and I go far away to school and there's only about a month left of summer. Any advice appreciated!

Life is too short for such drama! Put it out there, if he feels the same way, you'll explore where it goes, if not, claim no harm/no foul and carry on your friendship.

I presume this is a hetero thing. My advice is to lay your cards out but be careful to do so in a place/time where
he won't be forced to make a decision or have his peers influence him... guys can be jerks when their friends are around. Give the idea time to settle in his head... don't force it.

As someone who's had confessions backfire a hell of a lot more than succeed...I would agree with the above posts. It's better to lay things out now than push it off. Just make sure that when you do it, that you both are by yourselves and there aren't going to be any distractions (or at least ones that can be prevented).


How you do it is up to you (I'd say it's better to kiss afterwards but he's your friend so you'd know better that any of us how he'd respond to a surprise snog) but trust me, it's way better to just tell him and take the risk than to leave it bottled up.

Sorry for such a high school sounding post. I just haven't had a person make me this nervous in a long time. I wasn't sure where to from there. I will be telling him how I feel. Just have to work up the nerve. So thanks for the advice everyone.
