We're moving over here to have a fresh start.

In the meanwhile bare with me. for a second.

This is largely adapted from Jeff's vision but with some changes. Nothing that should effect anybody but if you care the new information is here. More details will come as we discuss things. Also consider DC the "base" but anything from Ben 10/Secret Saturdays and Marvel that doesn't directly conflict is more than welcome to be part of the party. In fact tenatively the X-Men do exist they are just located on the West Coast in this reality (mostly because New York is so crowded with Super Heroes in Marvel that it should have zero crime so I'm spreading them out some). They did fight against the Reach just nobody we know saw them because they are still trying to keep low key and the Justice League was in Metropolis at the time.

The Avengers may or may not have been in New York, still working on the details there and welcome to ideas.

Anyway this page is a work in progress feel free to pitch in or invite your friends!

  • Planet Oa is the capital of the Galactic Alliance, and the Green Lantern Corps is the primary police force among Alliance systems.
** On Earth their primary wing are a group known as the Plumbers. This is because Earth is considered a primitive planet not yet ready to formally join the Galactic Alliance but with so many high powered beings residing here we're impossible to ignore.

  • Darkseid's home world is called Apokk Prime, though he has not yet been a threat to the heroes of Earth – he is currently active on the other side of the galaxy. Doomsday has not appeared yet either.

  • The Justice Society of America formed in 1940, fought in World War II from 1942 to 1945, enjoyed a few years of popularity, and then ultimately disbanded in 1951 when the team was divided over whether or not to become involved in the Korean War.

  • The Justice League of America formed in 2006 after an alien race known as the Reach attacked Earth. It was during this battle that J'onn J'onzz and Abin Sur appeared. Upon Sur's death, his Green Lantern ring found Hal Jordan, who then formed the League with J'onzz, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, and Aquaman.

  • It is now 2016, and the JLA has grown to several dozen members in the last ten years.

The Cast

Player: Sean Renaud
Status: Active
Name: Micheal 'Star' Lee
Personality: Micheal is a naturally gifted athlete performing performing well in basketball, football, wrestling and martial arts. As a result of his natural talents he's a bit lazy but always willing to help a friend. He's quick to friendship, and slow to anger but when he's genuinely angry he's a sight to behold.

Gear and Equipment: An Nth Metal necklace. He's trained with several martial arts weapons including the Chinese Broad Sword, Katana, nunchucks, Bo-staff, hook swords and kunai. However the only thing he carries with any consistency are a dozen kunai preferring to assess each situation and arm up appropriately.

Powers: His extensive training in martial arts and control over his natural ki energy allow him to perform what he refers to as ninja tricks. By gathering energy in his feet he can achieve super human speed. Up to 100 mph sustained, and in extremely short bursts he can reach 400 mph, he primarily uses it to perform the Flash Step.

He can use a variant to walk on water or up walls. However his greatest strength comes from his unique Martial Art. It's a blend of traditional wrestling and Kapu Kuʻialua, a Hawaiian martial art based on bone breaking, joint locks, throws, pressure point manipulation, strikes, and use of various weapons. He uses his ability to stick to objects to stick to people making his grip nearly impossible to escape.

(Think Spiderman if he decided that instead of using kicks and punches that he'd be better off wrestling MMA style and just breaking every bone in your body.)

Name: Benjamin Tennyson
Age: 19
Gender: Male

Abilities: Ben is ambidextrous, inteligent if often lazy and naturally athletic. His true power comes from the Omnitrix however an alien device that allows him to turn into difference species of Alien. He's currently restricted to ten species as a result of him accidentally resetting the device and it's designer Azimuth deciding that if he was smart enough to break it he's smart enough to fix it. It's actually a punishment for him attempting to hack the device for the master controls. Access to the master control would give him the ability to transform into any sentient race in the Milky Way galaxy the Galvans have made contact with. Currently it will scan the DNA of species that come into contact with Ben and in most cases give him access to their DNA. Because the Omnitix was not designed as a weapon but rather as a diplomatic tool the species must still have a large enough population to be considered a civilization. Hence while Kryptonian and Martian DNA are included they are considered extinct races and remain locked.
Personality: Ben's arrogant and despite having been a hero for sometime has had relatively few "true" challenges. As a result he tends to charge first and leave the questions to people with more patience than he can generally muster. Though when the chips are down he can focus. He's had some training in the mystic and martial arts by his cousin Gwen Tennyson but generally just enough to recognize when he's in over his head especially in the mystic arts.

She has designed a projectile that can be fired onto most electronic devices giving her remote link access to her wrist console. She just needs to be within firing range.

Batman has also supplied her with the same smart silk grapnel that Nightwing uses.

He saved her life, but no attempt to discourage her could ever keep her from trying, to become Batgirl.

Eventually, Batman took her under his wing and trained and outiftted her. If she was going to follow his path she should do it the right way.
It wasnt until she was already long time colleges with Robin that he revealed his identity as her classmate at Gotham Academy, Dick Grayson.

She and Dick both graduated early and went to different colleges, but as crime fighters they stayed in touch and frequently helped each other, even after his change to the Nightwing persona.

Jason Todd took up the mantle of Robin, and she worked with him on occasion, but by that time she was doing mostly solo work.

Her father is still in the dark about her Vigilante identity.

Real Name: M’gann M’orzz (Megan Morse)
Age: 52 - 18 Biological human equivalent

Powers and Abilities: As a Martian, Megan has complete psionic control over every cell in her body, this offers a number of advantages. She can shape-shift, altering her physical appearance, and that of her organic clothing, to represent that of others, although male forms offer her something of a challenge to truly replicate. This shape-shifting means that she can also render herself camouflaged, though not truly invisible in addition to an enhanced healing factor thanks to her more malleable form. This also allows her to shape her form more extravagantly, for example growing extra arms or forming whip like appendages.

Her psionic control is but one aspect of her psionic powers however, and she is skilled both telepathically, and telekinetically. As telepathy comes naturally to Martians, she is likely to make the mistake of communicating with humans in that way, which may make others uncomfortable until she learns to respect those boundaries. Though she can speak both Martian and English, she is able to translate other languages psychically given enough time and concentration. Though it will take some learning and development of her abilities, M’gann has the psychic potential to examine the mind of those she comes in contact with, restore lost memories and even physically rip them from the owner.

Her telekinesis is formidable, though not necessarily on the level of her Uncle J’onn, though she can control multiple objects at once, too many can lead to her losing control if she is not paying enough attention, and while knocking things off course is well within her abilities, lifting something such as a tank is probably not. Telekinesis is also how she simulates flight, but moving herself through the air.

As with all Martians M’gann’s form is naturally denser than that of humans, though nowhere near the level as a Kryptonian, though it does lend her some degree of superhuman endurance and strength.

Equipment: M’gann M’orzz, like all Martians, possesses a set of psionically controlled, organic clothing. It is highly resistant to damage and capable of self-repair, in addition to responding to her will, allowing her to reshape it into any outfit she desires.

In addition, she has her own bioship, an organic ship that can be controlled and piloted psionically. M’gann can command the ship to reshape her form, opening hatches where necessary as well as entering a camouflage mode not dissimilar to M’gann’s own ability.

Personality: M’gann could, in every way, be described as a sweet kid. Kind and good-natured, it’s not in her to hurt someone’s feelings, at least not intentionally. Her personality almost seems as if it has been copied from, or at least inspired by female characters in old sitcoms. As a result she often seems incessantly positive and cheerful, she could even be described as perky.

A great deal of her knowledge of human custom comes from old sitcoms, and as such she can often be surprised by modern customs, or even less modern ones. Sometimes this can make her seem scatterbrained, though in fact it is simply a result of confusion between the customs she is used to and those the rest of the team may be used to.

Background: M’gann is one of the Martian Manhunter’s nieces, of which he has an abundance. Though she was raised on Mars, she somehow developed an infatuation with the life of those on Earth thanks to her Uncle’s stories. Eventually her love for the culture of the little blue orb led to her taking her chance during one of her Uncle’s infrequent trips back to Mars, she stowed away aboard his ship, and it was too late by the time J’onn realised he had an unexpected passenger.

Now on Earth, J’onn kept M’gann apart for a few months, and she took the time alone to familiarise herself with the culture, perfecting her appearance, her persona, and her super hero costume. M’gann was ready to meet humans, to meet her Uncle’s allies, but he was reluctant to expose her to danger, and worse, to human teenagers, until finally she convinced him that nothing could possibly be dangerous about the party at Emerald Gardens, not with all those heroes in attendance. Even he could find no fair objection and so M’gann spent hours picking what to ‘wear’ to the event, and as a result, was late.

Identity: Gar Logan
Age: 18
Birthday: Not a clue, canonically. Let's say...June 21 for the rp
Birthplace:Oceanside, CA but raised along the border between Qurac and Bialaya
Occupation: Student
Relationship status: Single

Character history:
As a child, Garfield was injured during an attack by the forces of the Queen Bee as they crossed the border during a skirmish with jet fighters from Qurac and his mother, who ran a wildlife refuge and maintained the scientific research begun by Gar's father, was forced to administer an untested serum to him. His body had an adverse reaction to the drug and he was saved by a transfusion provided by the Justice League member known as the Martian Manhunter (who had been in the area researching alleged war crimes on both sides of the conflict). At first, the only side effect was to turn his eyes green, but when the Queen Bee sent in a team of raiders to retrieve ordinance and attempt to get the refuge owners to leave, his powers came to the fore and is entire body became the same shade of green as a Martian.

After his mother died during the this raid, Garfield remained in Africa for a time under the care of some local witch doctors who his mother would go to for help with some of the animals from time to time. Eventually, he was reunited with J'onn who arranged for him to come back to the United States where he was taken under the wing of Rita and Steve Dayton. Rita had been a friend of his mother back when she worked in television and at some movie studios, and had no problems in taking over that role in Gar's life. Steve Dayton wasn't so sure and his relationship with Gar was always rather strained. This strain grew less after Gar discovered that the Daytons were members of a super-hero group named the Doom Patrol.

Gar developed the alter ego of Beast Boy, presented to the public as something like a missing link or throwback utilizing his power to always appear as a sort of monkey/wolf boy, and served as a team mascot--although he also helped on many adventures with them, becoming more of a group sidekick. Rita, aka Elasti-Girl, had insisted in his trying to have as normal a life as possible and Gar was at a boarding school when the Doom Patrol was captured by the Brotherhood of Evil and blown up, presumably to their deaths.

This was a final straw for Gar, who dropped full-time into crime-fighting and trying to show that he was okay in spite of having lost every important adult to ever enter his life from the time he was about six until his mid teens. Using money left behind by both his mother's and Rita's etates and a stipend from Steve Dayton--who had not been present at the demise of the rest of the Doom Patrol, because of being treated for mental illness caused by his psychomatic helmet--he has decided to finally attend college.

Powers:
Gar can shapeshift into any living creature with the only alterations to their physical form being that he can always speak and the creature is always a bright, almost day-glo green in colour. Usually, he only adopts animal forms as it is hard both mentally and physically to assume sentient lifeforms (as in human-level consciousness). He can both shrink and grow and drops or gains mass as necessary, large gains in size or mass are not held as long as other forms but it's not known if smaller forms can be held for longer periods.

Skills:
Gar had a number of mentors in the Doom Patrol, and picked up a variety of skills from them during the close, hectic (if brief) time he was with them.

Niles Caulder prompted Gar to have an interest in science but without bogging himself down with the usual scientific method--he is bright and intuitive, often making what might seem like sizable jumps in reasoning when puzzling through a problem.

Rita and Steve were excellent teachers in how to conduct oneself in the public eye--acting, speaking, carriage and, to a small extent, style were things that he picked up from them. (Lessons not always remembered, however, as Gar has a tendency to be sophomoric and run on at the mouth.)

He is in excellent physical health and is a midrange martial artist, primarily boxing that he learned from Cliff Steele, aka Robotman, although he tends to instinctively use the greater strength, agility, and physical attacks (claws, teeth) that his animal forms grant him.

Lastly, being brought up amid a mix of different cultures has given Gar a good sense of how to fit in among many different cliques; he also speaks a number of African languages on the conversational level as well as Farsi and French, and can recognize others when he hears them being spoken.

The Story Thus far

This will eventually be broken into arcs or chapters or what not. It's going to serve as a cliff notes version both for new players and those trying to catch up. I know personally that reading through five pages of characters flirting, fucking or even having an intricate and awesome fight scene gets tedious and worse that when the plot decides to move it might be two little posts that change everything that you might miss. So this will basically be like "LAST TIME IN TEEN TITANS" It will also include character locations so that if/when we get separated you can just glance and see who's at the Batcave, who's at the Watch Tower, who's on the War World etc etc.

Chapter 1: A Ballroom Blitz

The Justice League along with several unnofficial members and the press gathered at the Emerald Gardens Resort to celebrate the tenth year since the foundation of the Justice League.

During the festivities attacks were launched by Psimon using genetically engineered creatures called Genomorphs and Black Manta using his own troops. The two quickly turned on each other allowing the heroes a chance to survive admist the chaos.

Eventually the heroes were victorious but a defeated Psimon had once last trick up his sleeve! A bomb that would detonate in less than three minutes killing everyone within a half mile radius (or about .8 something or other kilometers for you metric folk who make me jealous with your common sense approach and easy to convert system.)

Alright,
First question, if you're pasting the characters in to the Cast post, do you really want us to post a copy in the thread as whole?

Second, are we still playing through the bomb and its aftermath or is that prologue/origin story finished and we're just waiting for the next storyline to be developed?

Well we'll leave this up a few more days and see if we get anybody else. I know not everybody checks in on a daily basis with this place. As always questions and suggestions are both welcome and desired. A few things I didn't mention above (and may edit into the first posts if/once we have settled on things.)

I like having a cast list, I'll probably put a villains list up somewhere later that will link back to the cast list. The reason for this is the same as for the cast. If someone joins up or wants a new character you shouldn't have to read through 'x' amount of pages to find out what heroes are taken and or dead. Front post will cover it all and if I miss you (or you update for whatever reason) feel free to tell me there has been a change.

The same goes for bad guys. Knowing which villains are alive, dead, aligned and enemies is tedious to keep track of. And since I'm not really interested in controlling every villain and NPC on my own it's nice to have someplace to just chek and see if Lex and Ra's are on speaking terms right now or if the last time we saw them they were attempting to murder each other (like say Psimon and Black Manta right now.)

Sorry, missed this one since we were apparently posting at the same time.

Yes I want people to post in the thread a sas a whole for two reasons. First so I know who we got from the old thread instead of me assuming, and also so you guys can update your own stuff and then just tell me to fix the front page. I'm doing that so that the front page can pretty much contain all the important information. No more digging through ten pages to find if this character or that is taken and also to catch up on the story.

To your second point we're picking up right where we left off with the bomb aftermath. We're just starting a new OOC so we can get everybody on one page. Hopefully.

t probably in the morning. I was hoping we'd get Lady K back since she was a very interesting character to have around but oh well I can't have everything I suppose.

Clarification

As you might have guessed, I'm playing up Gar's limited exposure to other hero types--especially ones his age--by not having him know, at first, who Ben is or what's up with the different aliens and that "watch" they all seem to be wearing.

That's just fine. It's the more natural assumption to be honest.

I'm working with Ben having some knowledge of the more famous heroes but relatively little on anybody else.

Okay, that's a decent spot to pause for a moment while we give tight a chance to catch up. It's not really necessary but I'm probably going to post a summary up at the top after our characters finish settling in and sorting out what they plan to do which will include learning what happened.

I will post tonight/tomorrow, I've been super busy/away from my PC for a week but I'm back now :)

IT happens to us all from time to ti I'm glad we didn't loose you too, I was really hoping we'd get to keep Gypsy, she was an interesting player to have around. Anyway after Tight posts I'll try to get the next part up this weekend to get us sorted and started on a next mission. I admit I have no clue where Jeff was headed with this whole thing so I'm kinda going my own direction. As usual if you have any requests for anything feel free either in here or in PM if you think it will work better as a surprise to some people.

This includes but is not limited to bad guys you want to see running around. I'm so so on DC stuff but that's the main stream stuff. My knowledge of say the Doom Patrol can be summed up as "Beast Boy was one. They may or may not have pissed off a bad guy named the Brain who hangs out with a super smart gorilla. Because DC has so many super smart apes that they should start a club. I mean there's the french one, the psychic one, the albino one, the detective chimp one. . .and that's off the top of my head there are probably more! If you want a specific mission that might be a little harder but hey half the time I'm gonna be flying by my pants so that's not impossible!

You won't find a better time. We're basically at a pause between sequences so the sooner the better if you want in.

I'll have something up later today. Woke up early this morning and am not quite in the right frame of mind for posting...but I'll get there eventually today. *crossing fingers*

I'm still free to play. I'm not sure what is slowing some of our players, but if they feel the need to drop, I'd be willing to play with however few people we can retain.

RPs run on a strange sort of momentum that I've never really mastered. I know that they go too fast and people feel overwhelmed and drop out but if they go to slow people lose intereste and drop out. In this case we lost two players and that's always rough.
