I am thinking of doing an rp based around the new Young Justice cartoon, but with some changes for this version of the continuity. Anyone interested?

Okay, I will be playing Dick Grayson and Conner Kent, and NiteCrowe will be playing Roy Harper as Dick's best friend and second in command of the team. As always, Remec has dibs on Beast Boy of he wants to play, and Shukaku has Terra.

Me too, although I have not yet said yes to Beast Boy. (Naturally, I'm leaning that way out of old habits, but still learning about this show's version/presentation of the character.)

Even though the rp over all is based on the show, characters can still have an original feel to then. Remec, you can play whatever version of Beast Boy you want.

Coolness. :D

Now, having read the background info as posted, are you looking at setting your game at the onset (ie, Season 1) or after the five-year jump (ie, Season 2)? Or are you thinking of doing our own thing set during the five-year jump?

Just lemme know the plan and I'm good to go whenever. \o/ Just don't poof on us this time, Patsu. D:<

Well, we can't do everything exactly like the show because they were all under 18 in the first season, but story-wise, I was thinking something along those lines but with our own twist on it. Like, how about this:

Lately, the Justice League has been expanding. Superheroes began appearing around the turn of the century, with big names like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman becoming very popular during the War on Terror between 2003 and 2006. In 2007, a group of heroes came together to form the Justice League of America, led by Superman and also including founding members Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Green Arrow, Hawkman, Hawlgirl, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, and the Flash.

The JLA helped promote peace around the world, but many other countries came to label them as the US Government's mercenaries. It is now 2012, five years since the JLA formed. Tensions have never been higher, and the world is on the verge of an all-out superhero war because people are scared the United States will use the JLA to take over the world.

To put those rumors to rest and show they only want peace for everyone, the Council of Founders (the original ten members) have renamed their group "Justice League International." They have relocated their headquarters to a space station controleld and operated by the United Nations, called the UN Watchtower, which can be teleported to from many locations around the world.

In the six months since the JLA became the JLI, the roster has grown rapidly, including heroes from all corners of the world. But this also means the group is even more popular now, and their celebrity status makes it hard to work. A group of young heroes and sidekicks who aspire to join the JLI are accepted, but in secret, so that they can act as a sort of covert ops team. The advanced android Red Tornado is assigned to watch over them and mentor them, while they receive missions directly from Batman via internet video chat. Black Canary provides a sort of motherly role, acting as a trainer and adviser to the young heroes.

The team is led by eighteen year old Robin, who will become Nightwing after the first major story arc. They make their headquarters in a secret base just outside Happy Harbor, a coastal town in Rhode Island. The base is located underneath a small mountain facing the ocean, and is secretly known as Mount Justice, the first home of the JLA, though Robin usually just refers to it as "base." On the sea side of the mountain, there are many winding caves that the locals visit often, and so if the heroes want to go for a night on the town, they can easily slip out a secret door and act like they were exploring the caves. Then it's out of the cave, onto the beach, and just a short walk to the town. If they are exiting as superheroes, they can utilize the JLI Transporter Network, since they have one in their base. They can also exit through multiple hidden doors, one of which leads to a secluded underground lake which they can then go underwater and appear just off the coast.

As for the first major story arc, we could go along somewhat with the first season and say the Injustice League has been causing problems. We will unfold that however we see fit, and all players can come up with mission ideas for the heroes to go on. After a series of said missions and them ultimately having a face off with the Injustice League, they can learn that the IL is just a ploy, and there are darker forces at work. Exactly what those dark forces are is something we can all decide as a group.

At some point, Robin and Speedy will leave the team so they can act without JLI approval, desperate to stop the dark forces no matter what. Fast forward six months or a year, and they have become Nightwing and Red Arrow and formed the Outsiders. They act as anti-heroes at first, but then the other Outsiders begin to go too far, and ultimately become villains. Batman deploys Young Justice to stop the Outsiders, prompting Nightwing and Red Arrow to rejoin the team to stop the villains they helped created. Any of you can also have your characters join the Outsiders for that year if you want.

Then after the year time jump, once the team is together again, we can delve into the whole alien invasion thing. We could expand the story and have an epic war taking place on multiple worlds, or we can keep it all based on Earth. What do you guys think?

Hey, I know I'm new but would I be able to join this :). I've not done a lot of forum roleplaying but I have a little experience

Real Name: Myra Kenson

Age: 23

Appearance: http://i48.tinypic.com/2mzk2hl.jpg

Out of her suit Myra is an attractive, long haired blonde, usually dressed casually in jeans and a t-shirt or some similar outfit.

Powers: Myra is a human, an exceptional human, but a human nonetheless.

Costume and Equipment: Myra wears a cat suit, with a vest top with long, elbow length gloves and knee length boots. She carries a grappling gun similar to that used by Batman and her utility belt contains several smoke bombs. She is used to using firearms, and has a selection for every occasion. She is rarely without her Katana.

Skills: Myra is at the level of fitness and endurance commonly associated with an olympic athlete. She is an advanced martial artist and is impressively accomplished in acrobatics, escapology and hacking.

Background: Her background is obscure and clouded, even to her, Myra remembers almost nothing of her previous life, her memory suppressed by an implant in the back of her skull. The implant is not foolproof, she still suffers flashbacks and dreams from her memories but as far as she is concerned her amnesia was caused by a car accident. In truth she was once one of the best assassins at the disposal of the C.I.A.

The Injustice League intercepted her and had the experimental microchip linked directly to her cerebral cortex. It allowed them to fictionalise a life for her and use her deadly skills. They employ her as an assassin and thief, it's only a matter of time before she comes into conflict with the Young Justice team.

Oh, and I'll post my profiles for Superboy and Nightwing tomorrow. I keep putting it off and then it gets late lol.

Nope, she is free. I was hoping someone would play her. Let me know if you wanna do the Conner/M'gann romance from the cartoon :).

Yeah sure, sounds good to me :D

Ahhh, lining the women up beforehand, eh? ;) What about Gar? Just 'cause the canon says he thinks of M'gann as a sister doesn't mean he hasn't moved beyond that frame of mind to think of her in other ways, y'know? (In fact, around here, he might very well think of her in other ways even...or especially...because he thinks of her as his sister. :D)

Anyways...I'm officially in as Beast Boy, and we'll see what romantic inclinations arise as the story progresses.

Now now gentlemen, no need to fight over me just yet, we can see how it develops ;)
