What's the best way to be asked out for a first date?

Nothing hugely excessive... just a 'hey, i like you, can we get to know each other better?' type of thing

Much appreciated

If a guy were having a conversation with me, and then said "hey, are you hungry, I'm about to grab a bite, you wanna join me" I would go. I'm not too into that 'ummmm, I saw you across the room and, I was ummmm wondering if, ummmm you..."

For me the I like you lets get to know each other better feels like a line.. even though I know sometimes it isn't. :)

I'd be more casual about it.. "I'm thinking about going to see such and such movie on Friday night, would you like to join me?"

Or if your talking about food (kinda what Bent said) if she mentions a place she likes or a particular food item.. and you enjoy it as well offer to take her.

though I have to admit I'm a sucker for the .. "Would you like to go out with me to.. "

Good luck sugar.

I always counted on the "you know" effect. That's when you and a girl you've got your eye on both already "know" you're interested in each other. Most of the girls I asked out I alread knew would say yes -- like a lawyer who doesn't ask a question he doesn't already know the answer to. Kept me from a lot of embarrassing rejection. You know?

A simple "Want to grab a coffee (insert appropriate beverage if required)"

That works since it's not exactly a date date, know what I mean? That way you can just chat and feel each other out (not UP, out).

This isn't one of them dead certs, you know?

Which is why I need the advice :D

Well I am not allowed to date anymore, Mr K just forbids it, but, I was always more impressed by a simple "Can I take you out for dinner(lunch, coffee, whatevah) sometime?" than some sort of fancy schmooze job.

LOL!!

I liked this dolt better as LadyG, but ...hey...

Sorry. Had to say something as you were behaving so nicely :D

Gotta reward the good.

Hope you manage to ressurect. Is there hope?

Just be yourself

and ask her out with something within your budget. I am thinking cold weather here in NY so a walk in the park might be stretching it but then again I like to walk.

You'll figure it out. Just do it.

Peace,
Tulip

Thanks, hon, I have my moments.

Well, hopefully, I sent an email to the webmaster outlining my "dumb redhead moment" so I assume they can fix it. It's just an email mistake.

I hope.

*comfort*

There there. Not everyone can just up and emulate unrealistic media-hyped sterotypes of beauty.

Sometimes it pays to look inside as well as outside. Opening your mind before your mouth.

Is that a nice way of saying I am ugly?
No

It's me saying that beutiful isn't what were told it is.
It's how you feel about what you see.

I cant stand the fashionably thin.
