People at Lit are talking about Transformers cartoons being some of the best "old school" cartoons.

Please feel free to add your own...

whenever people at lit start talking about their favorite bands/singers and i haven't heard of any of them...

lol.. :)

yeah.. I'm a young'un, and dinner and a movie, for me, anyway, is a precursor...

You know you're old when they start doing nostalgia TV sit-coms about a decade you were an adult in.

You realize that most people graduating college have never owned a 45 and have always had CDs
Yep, my son asked me the other month what the flat round black things were in cardboard folders by the sterio....

And a babysiter a while back did not know who the Rolling Stones were....

(in the U.S. anyway) When Soda came in actual glass bottles.

While working at a sports store, you mention how Bo Jackson was the greatest two sport star of all time.. And the youngster beside you goes "Who?"

I hooked up my old turntable the other day, and my kids have fallen in love with my old records. They're dancing to show tunes every night. Shh. Don't tell Starblayde.

A few years ago.. my soon to be 15 year old son asked me if LPs were old fashioned frisbees

Remember NeHI Blue cream soda?

Nope but when I go home to visit my Father in Central AMerica, almost ALL soda still is sold in glass bottles. They even have Grape Nehi still.

You know you're old when you remember when soda cans weren't aluminum and they had real pull tabs.

ok, how about beer that you had to open with a church key...
skates you had to put on with a skate key...
a house that you opened with a skeleton key...
and oil that came in a cardboard can that you had to put a spout on....

you know you're old when you rememebr how you used to link those old tabs together to make shit with them. Even those cool aluminum vests that were all the rage for about 10 minutes.

Emerald_eyed - A & W Cream is the BEST! in my opinion.

Before they had pull tabs, and you needed a "church key" to open them.

You're old when

You remember changing the TV channel with the dial on the set.
Randy

when you can remember when there was no such thing as color TV....... and your kids think Black&White programs are a special effect.....

(Not to hijack but the cartoons I remember watching as a kid were Speed Racer and Tobor the 8th Man!)
