I can't believe people are still pissed about Tik Tok. China doesn't give a shit about you. Now they may target elections but that's a separate issue that mostly deals with we need to improve the media literacy of the average American. The stupid shit people take seriously is frightening.

Sorry, I don't buy that "China doesn't give a shit about you." One of my first jobs was monitoring the technology being leaked out of the United States by Chinese-sponsored university students. And that was in 1967. It hasn't stopped.

Oh I'm sure they get data but you as an individual means nothing to them. I don't doubt they have spies working around the clock to get certain information and technology. Just like in the early 2000s when the US was openly spying on Americans I have no doubt the government for example has a pretty good idea of where I live even though I have a PO Box so my address isn't on it. Still if they cared they could find me. While obviously not all of them have been found the government finding J6ers is pretty impressive. I mean a lot of people look a like or close enough that if you didn't get a solid look you're in trouble. I'm often quoted when speaking mostly to security that hey check out my shirt you know who I am thanks. Cus when something jumps off with a roughly six foot tall, average to slim build black man with a high fade. . .yeah.

Almost forty years ago and you really think they still remember or give a shit? There are tons and tons of spies that they should actually give a shit about. Besides I'm not on Tik Tok just because. It has fuck all to do with with whatever information gathering they are up to. Honestly I assume anybody who gives a shit knows enough about me to to just leave me be. I'm sure someone close to Trump is a spy and I'm equally certain someone close Obama either is a spy now OR at least someone who was close to him was. Since he's mostly retreated from public life like a good former president there isn't a whole lot of reason to keep too close an eye on him. Though they probably do.
He might not be president but I'm certain Biden gives him a call every now and again seeking counsel from someone who has done the job before. Or just another set of eyes on the data

I'll stand pat on my assertion that China has been mining U.S. technology, including classified intell, bigtime for well over 60 years.

I don't know or honestly care that much when it started. No you didn't say your work ended in 85. It just seems like if you're the kind of person they made clear isn't welcome people who like being alive get into a different very public job.
