Science has a theory concerning the size of the universe. Generally when someone says "universe" I assume "everything"; the current definition of the universe does not take in concideration the posibility of something beyond the manifestation originating from the "big bang." The universe, for me, is infinite.

Because the universe is infinite, every point of space can claim to be the center just as much as the next point. All points are of the center, so all point are the center.

You are the center of the universe just as much as I am. Welcome to the center.

This isn't anything that hasn't been pointed out before... just thought I'd remind you all. :)

I like being at the center of things...................

and things being at the center of me!

Now if we could just get people to stop thinking the universe revolves around just them we could get somewhere.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm....would that make us BOTH the center of the same plane of the same universe?????

Yes, that would, wouldn't it? Care to bend a little spacetime, babe? :D

The universe has a definite center... it is expanding, but will soon slow and then start coming back, resulting in the big Crunch. It will not be fun.

Didn't you read the begining? *sigh* That definition of the universe *DOESN'T* allow for anything outside of that which has been created by the big bang... We may not have evidence of anything existing outside of our local universe, but that doesn't mean that there is no possibility of something bigger. :p

Guess I need more practice if you have to ask!

You got me thinking BB......

I believe, as do you, that the universe is infinite. Our "known universe" is that great ball of our expanding "big bang".

But if there is no end in the "infinite universe" then wouldn't it be correct to say that there is no center? (Infinity can't be devided, in half or any other real number.);)

Rhumb:cool:

It would be just as correct as saying that every point of the universe is the center.

So, you are right and so am I. Way to kill an arguement, eh?
